EOC Gear and Weapons - PVM

Recommended Posts

As of now, all my EOC experience has been confined to dungeoneering. As I near to reach my end goal with dungeoneering, my new focus will be PVM and POP.

So I'm about to buy the items to begin PVM. I'm aware that the general principle is just buy the highest tier equipment for each class for each equipment slot.

So until I obtain POP gears or afford Nex Equipment:

I assume Bandos Helm, Chest, and Tass are the next tier items to have.

Full Gano for Mage.

Full Armadyl for Range.

Berserker, Seers, and Archer Rings until Imbued versions.

Saradomin Amuelets and Glacor boots are the top ammys/boots to use in their respective class.

All Spirit Shields are pretty much useless.

I am confused with the whole Mage situation - Staves are pretty much useless? So an Ahrims wand + Virtus book would be better than a Chaotic staff? (No virtus wand at this time)

Chaotic Weapons for most situations until Drygore weapons are obtained.

Anything I'm missing that needs to be bought for various PVM situations.

Berserker is now an all-round ring with armour, use warrior for melee. Imbued onyx is better than berserker if you want an all-round ring.

Spirit shields are great for tanks, but otherwise not so good. That goes for all shields.

Cstaff would still have the accuracy advantage over Ahrim's wand, so for glacors it'd be better (worse than vwand + book). For tanking, arc + wand is good.

Nex boots/gloves are better than glacor/dominion tower because of the damage boost.

Ports armour is useless, being both very expensive to repair and (at best) equal to Nex equipment, but usually worse.

Maul is better than dual drygores for things that you don't need the accuracy on.

Thanks for the reply Quy!

Disappointed to hear that Port Armors are being considered as useless. With it being fairly new, hopefully there will be an update to it.

Now are the Nex boots/gloves individually better than the Glacor/Dt items, or do you need the full Nex set for the boots/gloves for them to be better?

Individually as well as with the set, Nex boots/gloves are better. You don't need the additional armour from glacor boots, nor the single digit damage reflect from DT gloves. The prayer and damage bonus as well as non-degradng of Nex boots/gloves is just a lot more useful.

On the other hand, Nex boots cost much more than Glacor.

Also, Nex boots do degrade (<100k to repair at Armour Stand though.)

Only reason I'd see for buying Nex boots/gloves would be for the additional damage boost when wearing the full sets (the +7 damage boost on the gloves and boots do not justify the price tag when used individually IMO) and if you really need the prayer bonus. Otherwise, Glacor boots are cheaper and DT gloves are virtually free to replace (though the 4-hour degradation time might be a bit annoying.)
