And with this type of vote, a no is not a needed option. Simply because we are showing intrest. Its so they can use a budget more effectively. It dont effect anyone else.

So it's not a vote then. Thanks for proving my point.

Personally, I think this vote is a really cool idea. I've seen my share of people who want that old RS back.

Now, will I vote for it? Nope. I could maybe see myself playing it if it reaches the 750k mark tho. Or voting if it gets close to there. I can't see myself being too invested since I'd have to make a new character.

EDIT: I think petition is a better term for this.

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.
[spoiler=The rest of my sig. You know you wanna see it.]

my difinition of noob is i dont like u, either u are better then me or u are worst them me

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

I wish they'd include a list of features that would/wouldn't be included in the August 2007 version.

For example, GWD was released on August 28, 2007. If GWD is in this new server, I'm not interested in playing. I don't like the impact it had on the game-- basically PvM completely overtook skilling for earning money. Don't get me wrong, I had a lot of fun w/ GWD back in the day. I just wish its profitability was more evenly matched with the other main moneymakers at the time.

The fact that we'd all start fresh is good, IMO, however we'd still be a 2013 community playing a 2007 game. In other words, all of the discoveries of efficiency and metagaming would be transferred over to 2007 as well.

EDIT: Come to think of it, though, the godsword hilts were really what blew skilling out of the water. But later on people realized that whips were still better than godswords. With this knowledge, it makes me wonder if godswords would still be incredibly overpriced upon re-release.

I think this is a great idea.

There's just few enough people who want 2007-scape for it to meet one of the requirements, but not enough for it to become something that is free with current membership.

It's a win on both sides. Jagex gets more money from the folks who want the old RuneScape to put into the new game, and the needlessly nostalgic players get the promised land that they've all been dreaming of.

Of course, it also means that the people who are so upset with the current state of RuneScape will finally have a chance to realize that it wasn't the old game, but the community of the old game that they loved. They'll get tired of the old game and its stagnate gameplay--and it'll become a barren wasteland within a few months. (With the net gain being thousands of dollars for Jagex)

I'll be voting no in this instance. I certainly don't want to do my part towards any of the higher tiers (With a dedicated development team! Seriously?) being achieved.

I'd still play with GWD, but I agree with the sentiment here.

Honestly, I've wished for the old days multiple times, but the real problem is that the community from that time has really moved on. If the vote was successful, I am sure the new server would be quite packed for the first couple of months, but inside of a year it would probably empty out significantly if not completely. I am also sure that, despite their assurances, it would split the current community quite heavily. Even if one of my accounts was P2P at the moment, I don't think i would vote for it.

I would be very excited to see the economy form from scratch, but I don't want to play 2007scape myself :P.

Not opposed to the idea, but I won't be signing the petition (maybe to push it over 750k, but that's it).

It seems they don't have the community and my school years on back up, so I don't think i'll vote yes for this one, I'd rather see their attention focused towards the future rather than giving in to nostalgics.

The only good thing to come out of this if it truly materializes is that people will finally realize RS is now a bette game than years ago, can't wair for people to see how much little (and big of course) improvements do add up over time and get frustrated by the lack of optionsback then.

This would allow me to start a DIY character without having to pay for yet another account, so this has me interested.

And most importantly, DV will be able to wield his anti-dragon shield with his staff of fire again!

Really, does it even matter?

Well if you think it didn't matter, why did you reply in the first place? :?

...We're moving very off-topic anyway.

Wow, I'm surprised there's so much opposition to this here. I think it's a great idea if everyone's character starts fresh on tutorial island again.

I'm not really opposed to it, I'm not even that bothered by it to be honest. It has literally no impact on me because I probably won't play it or pay for it. I won't be voting for it because I haven't got any interest in it. From a personal perspective, though, it's more like this: If I wanted to feel nostalgic about my gaming past, I can think of about a dozen other games that I'd have another go at before 2007-style RuneScape.

For me it is a no. I think that Jagex should be focusing on the main game. Instead of splitting the community into even more groups, I think we should try to keep it together more. Change happens, but certainly all updates since 2007 haven't been good. I don't think that to head backwards is the way to move forwards though. The main game will still always be the focus of Jagex's. Remember that, those of you who wish to vote.

No Grand Exchange ?

No Summoning ?

No Dungeoneering ?

Less quests ?

No SC ? (I actually like it)

No interest ...

Everyone should vote yes tbh. Even if you don't want to play it you should still vote yes for the people that do.

... But I will vote ofc. (no need to be selfish)

I'm glad the vote requires login, I'm still a little annoyed the only vote you can cast is yes. Unless it's very clearly marked that that is the case, unlike last time.

Regardless I wouldn't play it, don't want it and it isn't healthy for the game to split the community.

My initial reaction is no. The server will get botted to shit, as it's 2007 tech vs 2013 bots. They will only bring over anti bot tech "if needed", which means it will be too late by then. People bot the shit out of private servers, and that's even more pointless then botting real runescape.

I also don't want to see 2+ months of wasted development time after the server dies, which it will. The nostalgia will wear off, and people will realise you can't bring back the 2007 atmosphere. Then we will have a wasted server sitting there, getting run by bots. All the while the 2 months they claim it takes to get it running could have been put to better use.

I see one floor with this:

Despite being members only unlike the free trade vote it's a setup of 'vote if you want ignore if you don't' which quite obviously will give very biased statistics. I mean so what if 750,000 people vote for it if there's 1,250,000 who abstained because their view was 'no'
