To start off, I know this question is rather massive so too anyone who puts in the time to respond , your answer is greatly appreciated :)

Just before the EOC I dropped my bank and quit Rs, needless to say I've gone back on that decision. My question is, what is the best way to go from zero cash pile and measly stats to a maxed account (I know this should take very long time :P)

Stats

--------

-85 Attack

-85 Strength

-85 Defence

-86 HP

-88 Magic

-71 Range

-70 Prayer

-70 Dungeonering

-70 Runecrafting

-52 Summoning

-58 Slayer

-60 Agility

-50 Herblore

-65 Theiving

-60 Crafting

-90 Fletching

-80 Hunter

-65 Mining

-50 Smithing

-75 Fishing

-70 Firemaking

-70 Cooking

-50 Farming

-50 Construction

-99 Woodcutting

My basic idea was to get 99 in a profitable skill and than to max combats through slayer. With maxed combat I would be able to PVM and make money for the buyables. Thats my very rough idea, so if you could provide any more detailed responses I'd love you forever ;)

(Keep in mind I'm new to eoc :( )

Thanks!

I did more or less the same thing a while ago. Here's what you should do:

1. Start farming herbs right away, and I mean right away. It's a great cash cow, and you should try and milk it as much as possible. You can get toadflax seeds for less than 1k each and turn a profit ~150k each herb run (~5 minutes of work). See this guide for more details on how profitable different herbs are. If you haven't already, do My Arm's Big Adventure for the additional herb patch and make lots of juju farming potions.

2. Train to 80+ dungeoneering to get a chaotic maul. Do farm runs every few dungeons.

3. Max slayer and combat skills, while continuing to farm herbs. You should have enough money from herb farming by this point to max prayer and summoning as well.

4. PvM for more cash, if desired. You should be making 2M/day from herbs though, so it may not be necessary.

5. Re-evaluate new stats and bank, and come up with a plan for the next phase of maxing.

With the exception of farming herbs, never skill for money. Pvm or merch and do dailies to fund your buyables.

Do your unbuyables first (except do prayer and herb before slayer) then spend your money on buyables.

Go for x-99 if you can handle it, otherwise aim for certain base levels, I.e. all 80+, all 85+, all 90+, etc.

Remember that this will take a lot of time and dedication, but it is doable.

Thanks, those answers are terrific. I never considered skills to be a waste of time for money making but I guess they really are :P

I already have a few untradebles, most are unnoteble except void, which I've heard is pretty useful now.

Keep in mind that you will get some collateral xp in nearly every skill, for example from SoF lamps and pendants, some dailies perhaps, but also new quest releases and effigies sometimes. Stopping levelling at 98 is often a bit better than going straight for 99, though the difference tends to be small.

Also, don't forget to level with the best dailies/weeklies - Char's Cave and book are underused, and the circus offers some pretty nice xp as well. You can also do Player-owned Ports for some extra xp.

Finally: if you are going for max, you will eventually go for comp. Don't try to deny it, very few maxed people can honestly say they aren't working on comp (and to an extent this is also true of comp/trimmed comp) so we wouldn't believe you anyway.

Going for comp/trim, you want to plan your requirements ahead. Train magic, fletching (broad arrows!) and farming at Livid Farm, finish all xp-boosting rewards sooner rather than later, get all tasks done when you need the lamps etcetera. For trim, smith at Artisan's, hunt your champions and chompies before max combat, start working on your PoH statue and so on.

I think if you want comp it's better to go for 99s than 98s so you can block everything except dg challenges. That's why I got my 98s to 99s.

That is the way to do with nerfed effigies. The daily challenges do add up. I have been on the same road you are taking on now for some time. From my experience I would suggest that go for even base skills first. All 80's, all 85's and so forth. And buy buyables as you go along to keep you motivated.

I find it works well for me I will do the tedious/slow skills mostly and when I am sick of them I will switch to a quick 99 in a buyable. E.g. - I got all 90's then I did some wc, got bored of it, got pray and summ 99 in 4 days, then moved back to wc - it started boring me, then I bought farm, herb and fletch 99. I am on my way to farm 99 (will be there in about 3 weeks) and when I get thoroughly bored with WC again I'll just get fletching or herb 99.

It really helps to motivate me, and I will do the same with my fishing/rc/agility - meaning that I keep a few quick buyables always in my bank to keep me motivated in moving trhough the slow skills.

I don't know if challenges are skewed enough for that, I thought that they were sort of balanced enough (except dg obviously) that it doesn't matter that much.

If you get 99 in every other skill, you can block the challenges for all of these skills, giving you a (super easy) DG challenge daily since the system can't give you any other challenge.

I know that, I use that myself >.>. That doesn't happen until you have 20 99s though (4 challenges available but unfinished, getting dg as 5th every day), and the time from your first to your twentieth 99 is quite a lot of time spent gathering collateral xp. Also the challenges you want to block don't necessarily match the skills that have little collateral xp.
