trading between Jagex games now allowed?

Back when RS2 was released, Jagex prohibited trading between RuneScape for RuneScape Classic as they were considered separate games.

Now that "Old School" RuneScape has been released, some people were asking if it's OK to do the same between that and the current RuneScape. Mod Mark replies that it's more of a trust issue, and mentions nothing about real-world trading:

What is the official rule about trading gp for 07scape gp?

Mod Mark: Good question. There is no way for us to support cross-product trading. If you made a trade on one game in the assumption that you'd get a trade on a different game then you'd be relying on trust alone. There aren't any rules or guidelines on this matter. Its up to the individuals involved. (bolded for emphasis)

This begs the question: is inter-game trading allowed now? Or has Jagex gone soft on real-world trading as a whole?

Seems as it stand, it's not against the rules. Might end up changing it in the future. The rules of the game tend to be more rigid than the game, so evolve less quickly.

Technically it's not RWT as it's between Runescape, and ORS, both owned by Jagex. If anything, very highly risky trust trading. Chances are Jagex will make a stomp on it later on, similar to "trading between accounts"

Just letting you know that the Moderating Team are currently in discussions regarding how we're going to treat this issue, so hopefully I'll be able to give you a more concrete answer soon. In the meantime, I will emphasise that this is a very unsafe thing to do, and I highly suggest that you don't do it. If you are scammed, Jagex has a long-standing policy of not returning lost items.

Locked - please don't bump topics after such a long time.

The current Tip.It stance on the matter is that trades between 2007 and EoC are trust trades, which are allowed (similar to selling dungeoneering floors), provided that the person advertising the trade is taking the risk associated with the trade.
