High Tier Item Access

20 QBD kills an hour is easily doable.

But is the average drop 250k? I'm pretty sure it's not.

Real problem here seems to be that people aren't willing to put in the work and the time to achieve something, that other people have.

Expensive top tier items are good because it gives people something to work for and then has the benefit of being top tier armour.

It's disturbing how out-of-touch with the community some of our TIFers are >_>

assuming you are any good at automatons/glacors/qbd, 3-5m an hour is easily achievable

I would like to see how you can kill more than 100 glacors an hour to grab upwards of ~5m gross gp/hr. Similarly, if the QBD is worth approximately 200k-250k a kill, how do you kill 20-25 an hour? You pulled those numbers out of your rear and you know it. 3m is the max gross income of these activities.

20 QBD kills an hour is easily doable.

But is the average drop 250k? I'm pretty sure it's not.

I've been averaging 3-4mil an hour doing qbd and I sure as hell don't get 25 kills an hour. Before I got drygores I was doing 12 kills an hour and still making 2.5-3m, with drygores I'm averaging ~ 4 min per kill for 15 kills/hour and I break the 3mil mark every time.

However that will continue to drop as the royal pieces are plumeting in value. As for Glaccors, I couldn't get that income, but I also had shit luck for boots.

Autobots could likely hit those numbers because the value of some boots is relatively high, however I've yet to receive any as drops so I can't speak to that.

EDIT: I'd also like to point out, that if you look at my stats, in my signature, you'll see that I've pretty much maxed all buyables, with fletching and construction in the bank. I paid ~16gp/xp for prayer and upwards of 25gp/xp for herblore because I made way to many overloads.

Drygores are the first expensive item I've ever bought, and I would say I've earned somewhere in the realm of ~50mil from bossing, I don't have very good luck with drops.

The majority of the money I made for my stats was from herb farming, I'm sure a few people have seen my log but for those who have I've personally logged about 30k herbs. With some self control and timing I managed to sell a lot of those (snapdragons) before the last bxpw so I made a decent amount there.

So to say that these items are hard to get is cop'ing out. I'm currently working my way up to buy some more expensive things and it just takes a little bit of effort. I like doing my penance aura at QBD every few days, and it steadily grows my cash pile. I may not get there quickly but its not impossible.

Over the ~300 kills i've done i've averaged more than 300k per. 16-20 kph is very reasonable(and that's with range).

Just lol.

We used to have skills take 1000 of hours and you people [bleep]ed and now we got WOW-lite.

Why the hell would anybody want items that take 1000 of hours to get and then are obsolete next year?

What current top tier takes over 1000 hours to achieve?

They're probably assuming that you're not starting from a well-stocked max account. While 1000 hours is probably on the extreme end, it would probably take someone with my skills and bank a substantial amount of time just to get to the point where I can start grinding Nex.

Elaborate.

Been done on many logs, seems to be in the 250-300k range.

Nex can be minimally done with overloads, ganodermic, fks and war tort/unicorn.

Seen it be done and if you are good, you will get teams a lot.

Real problem here seems to be that people aren't willing to put in the work and the time to achieve something, that other people have.

"You people"? When have I complained about the combat, I was fine with how it was before but now feel that it is much better now. No skill ever took 1000 hours, no items took 1000 hours to get, as the top tier becomes second best, it becomes more affordable for more people and money is easier to make for the lower levels. Which is why you see more lower levels go to GWD than before.

I'm far from maxed and don't have a well stocked account and I'm of the opinion that I could do nex if I could find a team.

Like I said before its a cop out to say you can't. Void + maul and you can dps for a team.

no items took 1000 hours to get

To clarify, I was referring to pre-EoC (the point being held up as ideal, from what I can see), where a full set of either Torva or Pernix and a Divine would set you back well over a billion and there were almost no moneymakers that would consistently earn more than about a million and a half per hour. For someone without the stats or gear to consistently Nex, accessing Nex/Divine sets back then would definitely take you over 1000 hours unless you were already rich (and back then 100m wasn't "rich" but you were certainly reasonably well-off).

Aside from the obvious that we are in Eoc now, QBD was upwards of 5m/hour for a fair while. Glacors were 3-4m/hour.

Also, if you don't have the stats or gear to Nex, get them. Before Eoc, Nex didn't require much in terms of gear, standard full armadyl, shield, royal x-bow, dragon claws. Hardly breaking the bank,

Money has always been easy to make, but moaning about moneymaking has just been that much easier.

I don't disagree with that. I just don't like inflated numbers :P (which, in the case of the QBD, I was wrong about, evidently).

Isn't that what you did here when I suggested they should release a top-tier boss monster which drops no cash reward or anything else that can be traded for money? Only you never bothered to reply to my post (even though it was directly addressed to you personally).

Challenges like jad are very nice, but it's really only a one time ticket. I really can't understand why monster hunting can't be the fundamental source of wealth in scape as it has been for a while- it is a great way to introduce new items, is always challenging and can be updated to be ''handed down'' to lower levels.

You're effectively saying there that you're not arsed about it unless it involves moneymaking, aren't you?

Except for the obvious few high level things that are non-tradeable such as fire cape and its upgrades, or potions... But indeed, everything else in the game is bought. There are actually no high tier items that I can think of that are the best of their category that doesn't have a buyable equivalent item...

So make top tier items untradeable drops that are best in game marginally? We would do the boss once, show off our achievement, and then it'd be dead content. Why would you want that?

The point to doing Jad was to show you overcame the challenge, and it was a fine model - except it's mostly dead content and was before fire cape was outclassed. Once everyone had one there's no incentive to return. That's just a waste of time on everyone's part.

So instead of making it a one kill item, or even you kill it until you get it as a drop, make it like the wilderness hat where the more kills you have gets you a new emote/cosmetic item, and add in bonuses for each tier you achieve.

So you want it to be a challenge (high % of failure, high cost of failure) but then you also want to be able to grind it over and over again with enough ease as to make it a reliable moneymaker... seriously, what?

I'm sorry - where did I say that?

I'm all about untradeable must be earned gear, but the Jad model is a poor implementation of it.

My original post said Fire Capes offered next to no benefit at all. I was appealing to a claim in a previous thread about how nothing in EoCscape provides any sense of achievement any more. If what this is all about is an altruistic desire from elite players to have your skills challenged and tested in-game, because you're too powerful to be tested by the monsters already in the game, why does the reward need to be the best item available, or provide any additional source of money?

Can't you see that as soon as you put a cash prize on a piece of content and make it easy enough to "grind", it ceases to become a challenge any more, and it becomes simply another means of wealth creation, which in turn is a means of purchasing XP?

I thought this was all about a desire for the correct tiers to be available to the people in that range, therefore people with 80 defense can access nex gear.

As for challenges, no NPC will ever truly be a challenge, only the learning curve is a challenge. Once something is mastered it is not hard, because it cannot think. The only true challenge is going to come from PvP which is a very broken model in RS.
