DownToFletch
So, Path of Exile is a free online game. It's basically what Diablo should have been. (Dark, etc.) It's made by a group of guys from New Zealand who were fed up with "pay 2 win." (Runescape members, etc.) Just because it's free doesn't mean that the game lacks, however. It's a great game. I know some people on here do play the game, and as people post their usernames I'll update this first post. Find info about the game, here!Faq!Overview!http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=NDFO4E5OKSEhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ZycHZmvy2n0http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=YQX-ds2qtx4http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=a01JJZ2s9yM In-game Character Names!!!Found HERE
chenw
I'll wait and see if they ever change their respec system, right now, the reskill system in D3 is what I respect it for, even if everything else about the game is flawed. PoE, the last I have read, does not have an easy respec system, and frankly, thats enough to keep me away from the game. I simply do not have enough time to spend more time getting the things I need for a respec than actually respecing. If they change it to something much simpler however... I may very well try the game, it does look otherwise impressive. 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. Bubs
No character building is possibly the single most disappointing thing about Diablo 3. Haven't had a chance to play much since OB started, played quite a bit a few months prior. If I start up again I'll let you know.

chenw
I feel you about the character building, there is nothing that makes your character unique from another because they can easily copy your spec. But, frankly, I had more fun experimenting with my own style of play with D3 than I did with D2 (until of course they introduced respec, and even more so with Median). I don't mind character building, it's the regret of the decision. If I have to replay the game to fix that regret, no thanks, I don't like being penalised for that many hours of game play because I took a wrong turn with skills/stats. If i had more free time, I'll charge head long into PoE, maybe i'll think about it. Does this game have server restriction as in your character can only play on a certain server? And how exactly does the respec system work? 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. Bubs
The respec isn't really that hard. Unless it was changed you get two respec points per act in each difficulty. With a little planning you shouldn't really need more than 12 respec points if you mess up. There are also orbs of regret, a one use one respec point item, which you will get as loot or can buy. There's always a respec option, at times you may need to farm/buy respecs, but you'll never be locked in to your decisions entirely. As for server restrictions, no. Your character is locked to your league and that's the only restriction I know of. At the moment you have the choice of default and hardore (aswell as daily community events, which aren't permanent). Further down the road however more leagues will be introduced however, such as world pvp leagues etc.
chenw
It's not the mess up part that worries me, but there is my fun in experiments too, the more restrictive respec is, the less fun i will have in it :P Thats what kept me in D3, I could play with whatever was available whenever available, I never had a more enjoyable learning experience playing a rpg. End game however.... Let's leave it at that :P. I'll post my username when i get a chance. I hope Taiwan isn't on their blacklist. 1 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. DownToFletch
I might play right now I'm a shadow, duel wielding for more damage output. Protection comes from my chest plate, and helmet. That's about it :s
Alg
Giving it a try, the duelist thing sold me (I love that archetype, even though I'll probably end up as a witch or something). Name is Sealg. I don't expect to get very far, though. 1 I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
DownToFletch
Thanks! How did you like the game?
Sinkhan
I had never played a Diablo game so I was interested in getting my feet wet in the dungeon crawler genre with PoE since it was free. I got to the third act, but then my friends told me that I basically had to redo the whole thing, but on higher difficulties to even get a full character ability spec. It was at that point that I realized dungeon crawlers were not for me. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug

axewielder22
I play Path of Exile currently. Playing as a Witch named Annonia in SC. I was trying a fire/Ice build to see how it goes, and I'm pleased with it.
