Dun dun dun.

Just when you think Jagex understands what the players like/want...

"The players" do not share one opinion.

But, according to the poll, a majority wanted them to become discontinued.

It wasn't a supermajority which was previously agreed on, though (75% threshold).

You could argue that Jagex set up the question to be more difficult for rares to "remain" as discontinued items, but they more than likely did it because they'd rather not have rares functioning in a way they didn't intend and felt wasn't in the spirit of the game.

True, but for a Yes/No question, it doesn't make sense to require 75%+ for the "winning option."

Jagex have killed any longevity that could be obtained in terms of items goals.
Terrible terrible outcome, does not matter how rare they make them if they are not discounted.
Check it out, huge amount of effort has gone into this massive mod!

Jagex have killed the ability of early rich players to be able to hoard rares, and have them appreciate in value to silly extents, whilst other players have a hell of a time chasing a moving target.

agreed (and im not super rich) the ONLY way I see that this (them not being dc) could work in the slightest is if they introduced the elite clues again and gave them 3a rarity from only elite clues, that way they would still be ultra rare, and hold their value for a long time. But, again, this would just be a stop-gap, not a solution because they aren't truely dc, and more will still be introduced, albeit slowly.
i don't play psykick anymore... i play 2ed: "pure fett"

So they won't be discontinued because the vote didn't reach 75%? And that's what my worry was, very stupid to require 75% on that...

They could still only be seasonally obtainable within a window of 5 minutes. They would still be not discontinued, but hell of a hard to get item.

If they do opt for something like that there will be no way it would be for only 5 minutes because of timezones and people complaining. Unless of they have a few 5 minute windows throughout a day or two.

Anyway, I'm confused about the whole thing, and even though Jagex have been pretty good so far, they need to be a bit clearer.
