Nothing has been announced by Microsoft itself.

Nothing.

So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.

RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.

Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.

Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.

I strike out every other week.

Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.

Randox pretty much stays rational.

Etc, etc

Aside from Adam Orth leaving the company there's been nothing. Basically he told the community tough crap when there were rumors of the console being "always on" (always needing internet) and got into a lot of flame wars with fans/customers of the XBox.

I heard that it breathes slightly when it thinks you aren't looking and is ever so slightly moist to the touch. Its warmth is not of some mechanical object running well, but a biological heat, accompanied by soft gurgles and almost silent growls when you insert a game bought secondhand.

There was that Microsoft X division will unveil something. It might just be another GoW for 360 aswell.

But I think it is 90% chance it is the new 'box.

Easily the best comment ever.

Nothing.

There was something about it being unveiled in late May. I want to say the 21st, but I'm not sure.

Eurogamer are reporting that other reported sources say 21st May: http://www.eurogamer...reports-suggest

It's called the Xbox One. Really? Infinity would've been waaaaaay better.

And it's now dubbed an "entertainment device", so it's more focused on TV, Facebook, etc, and not so much just games.

I don't think I'll be getting it.

Unfinished netherrack symbol of Khorne.

Never forget. ~creeper face w/single tear~

DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOO?!?!

They revealed basically nothing, to presume it's not worth getting is ludicrous. They aren't going to reveal much other than to get buzz a few weeks prior to E3. I would hold your assessment and stance on purchasing a product we know very little about until after E3. Though, my personal stance likes that it's becoming an entertainment device and not your standard one trick pony gaming system.

I'd just like to see a game that's worth getting on it.

People have been saying this about Nintendo products for years ;)

But seriously, all new system obviously come out with a small catalog. I'm interested to see out of the 15 titles they'll have what the 8 new franchises are. Though I'm sure E3 will be where they do most of that revealing.

Yeah, I'm just saying that it doesn't really matter if they turn it into a social machine; people are buying them because it can play games. Unless I'm mistaken, that's the point of a game console.

^That's why I don't really get why they chose to focus so much on that. I mean, I actually love integration because having a bunch of boxes is annoying, but I was under the impression the Xbox was for games. They kind of treated them like an afterthought, and funnily enough the one thing you can't integrate with the one machine is your old games.

Sony talked a lot more about games, and even though the Wii U doesn't have many so far I'm curious to see what Nintendo shows at their new E3 model, which is all about hands-on with games. On the one hand Microsoft is huge so it makes sense they would try to expand to that market with the Xbox brand. On the other hand people do buy game systems for games and people interested in other stuff can get it elsewhere. I'd think they would a least be a hard sell, considering the system is likely to be pretty expensive with all that fancy tech.

Everyone says "wait for E3" for Nintendo, so I see no reason not to do the same for Microsoft. But if they wanted to create a positive buzz it might have been wiser to bring games to the front more. All I hear anyone saying now is how they didnt talk about the games. I don't think that's the kind of buzz they'd want.

Well Microsoft has slowly been doing a lot of the integration with the 360 through Dashboard updates, however it's very limited by the current hardware. I'm wondering if Microsofts current thought process is, "Everyone knows it will play games, so let's focus on how we're expanding on other features." Which in a way is true, we can all safely assume it's going to play games. So honestly aside from graphics and such, there's not much (currently) to demo.

The end goal for Microsoft is to get subscribers, and the audience it's targeting is non-gamers, those that don't already own a console, so it's logical that they put more focus on what the console doesn't already do, opposed to what it already can do. That's why they can save the games for a later date like E3 where most of the upcoming titles will be 3rd party anyways.

Except you could argue that that demographic already has their cell phones and PCs for the same purpose, and probably won't be too eager to spend money on yet another all-in-one machine.

But that's the point; To draw AWAY from the smartphone/tablet market (which MS does not have dominance), INTO the XBox market.

These corporation's primary goal is NOT to make money, it's to get dominance in the market.

I would say you are arguing the wrong argument.

They're not going after cell phones and PCs. They're going after your TV. Think about your average tv setup. The average person that I know has at least two of these attached to their TV a cable box, dvd/blu-ray, &/or a gaming system. This new system is all of those. 3 boxes, now turns into 1.
