Seems like there's an Area Status window in the NIS since the latest update--or at least I haven't seen it previously.

Guessing it has to do with world events, and which gods have control of which places. Gonna be fun to see the world change around us depending on the gods that win :D

That's for the wilderness level thingy and stuff.

open the dev console and type "displayfps" and hit enter.

ORLY?

Except I cannot open the console, as I said in my previous post (with some typos tho :P) . Nothing will work!!

Have you tried ALT + `? That's what it is in live game as of today.

Ardougne Teleport

Teleport yourself to Ardougne.

Clicking on it, it wants a target -.-

Anyway I haven't seen anywhere besides Varrock with new textures, and even Varrock's are only on the outsides of bulidings.

Worth noting for the dev console thing the ` people refer too (the tilde) is not *always* on the actual key you press. the 'tilde key' (which you must press) is the one to the left of 1 on the keyboard, sometimes (eg macs) it'll have something else on like § and ± whilst the tilde appears elsewhere, however it is still the key required for dev console.

And of course as other mentioned they've now made it alt + tilde to open opposed to just tilde.

Quick question: whats the best way to get the HTML5-NIS beta to load. Should I leave it to load for ages before logging in, or log into the game and leave it to gradually load everything in. Is there any way of finding out how much more you need to load?

Thanks in advance

If you use the dev console and put in displayfps it should show how much of the game is downloaded to your computer.

Nope.

The keys that opened the dev console properly when in HTML5 won't allow me to open the dev console in Java.

Tried pretty much everything I was aware of (alt+², alt+§, alt+`, alt+~)

Worth nothing that tilde never allowed me to bring up the dev console.

I toyed around a little with the HTML/NIS yesterday. It's working better to be sure, but I find it difficult to believe it will be ready for next Monday.

That said, I do have to say that, in some ways, I cannot but help feel a little sorry for Jagex. While in the the HTML/NIS mode yesterday, I had the misfortune to witness the type of players that appear to be "beta testing" the system. All of them running around in Torva and Phats, and none of them doing anything remotely useful in terms of actual beta testing.

I was reminded of the similar situation that the EOC beta was in prior to its launch. <_<

... and yes, I do realize that the game in that mode counts for nothing and is practically unplayable, but there's gotta be something better to do than to rack up pointless virtual wealth, isn't there?

Oh wait -- that's what 07-scape is all about now, isn't it?

Ok - nevermind ...

It is worth nothing that HTML5 will remain beta while NIS in Java mode will be the released RS3 version, so the HTML5+NIS is bound to be more bug ridden, as they expect it is not yet ready.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

So many people thinking html5 is either:

A. The biggest piece of the rs3 release.

Or

B. Doesn't read the news that its being hens in beta.

I just want to punch someone in the face. Why can't I get what I WANT? Don't whine about nt getting html5 if I can't punch you in the face.

Edit: pointedly speaking...

Honestly until jagex can more appropriately take off artistically with html5 it shouldn't be considered such a monumental piece to rs3. And when that does I would expect html5 to be a lot much further than just an experimental piece to your browser. I also consider NIS as being at least 2/5 of rs3. Divination and the soon to be released world events being another 2/5. Html5 is just for show just as my has "runescape HD". Granted I greatly enjoy resizeable mode, but that has no great bearing on my gameplay other than maybe PVM.
