I called it... Pretty much factions, but it seems more of a "worship" twist.

Or channeling.

I Really don't see that as all the gods are mortals, but they've gathered so much of this godly energy and lived so long that they have cognitively dissolved the boundaries of mortal thinking. Meaning they don't see anything that can really kill or stop them.

With possible exception of Zaros, as he is the most recent god (at lease I know of) besides Guthix who had their rear ends handed over to another god.

 

Practically, they are gods (since not many things are capable of killing them), but they certainly are not invincible.

 

I'd be interested in seeing a God VS dragonkin showdown though.

i vaguely remember a while back one of the skills was going to be a gathering skill the other was a "finishing" skill, what does this qualify as?

I'd say this would fit gathering.

As based on the definitions of Divination you've got to be gathering some sort of information and/or energy.

Certainly it's not the in the same vein as most of the existing gathering skills, but then farming doesn't quite match the rest either and hunter equally is sort of slightly unusual as the gathering skills go.

Agreed.

I think we may see a few prayer-books, the original obviously being a Guthix one as it has defence and attack.

Saradomin would focus on defence, Zamorak attack-based (well, until he is killed in the story lines by Zaros).

 

The book would still be usable.

I thought the finishing skill was supposed to involve the pocket slot? I can't see how a gathering skill based on divination could work with that unless the rewards from divining are random items that you then have to carve/charge to be used? Ancient prayer symbols, extinct monster remains ect. Other items from the god wars or even pre god wars when zaros still had his empire.

It's always hilarious how badly out of context Jagex uses the home teleport spells. Someone who has never played would be like "holy crap, that demon just popped out of the ground and that guy just jumped on his shoulders, HOLY CRAP HELICOPTERS," only to get in and find out it's actually an animation in a cash shop.

I always felt a 'science' skill was a thing we could use, after all, Runecrafting as techy magic has kinda failed, we never get to do any research.

Unless they are waiting for the second skill for that, since this one should normally be the 'Gathering skill' while the second one would be the 'Production skill'

Calling it now, the gathering skill will let us draw on godly powers, and the production skill would let us use them to turn items into talismans we can keep in our pockets.

A skill based on lore? FFS thats the last thing I want

Surely then you'd need quest points, meaning not everyone currently would have full access to it, only those I'm assuming with max QP.
