Harvest Heaven (members only)

It's a glorious springtime for high-level farmers, as today sees the release of ten new plants to grow, along with new produce and cross-skill training opportunities. With Farming skill requirements ranging from 76 to 96, and making use of some of the lesser-used plots, they're blooming handy for high-level training.

avatar.png?id=17937891

The ten new plants fall into two categories: those that yield produce when harvested, and those that grant experience in other skills (in addition to the Farming XP, of course).

In the first category, there are some familiar sights such as snape grass and potato cacti - available through farming for the first time. You'll also find some new plants: reed beds, which produce toads, swamp tar and swamp lizards, and butterfly flowers, which yield ruby harvests and have a chance to spawn a Guthixian butterfly, which grants XP in your lowest-levelled skill when caught.

If you've the necessary Construction skill, you'll also be able to build frames for growing grapevines, which - when harvested - offer a crop of godly grapes, aligned to Saradomin, Zamorak and Guthix. When added to water and fermented, these become wines, which can be mixed into the rest or brew potions of their respective gods, creating super Guthix rest potions, super Saradomin brews and super Zamorak brews.

There's also the wishing well bush, which yields its fruit in exchange for a sum of coins based on your total skill levels. Upon opening the fruit, you will find useful items of a varying value - up to three times that of the coins you put in - although beware that it is possible to lose as well as gain wealth from this!

In the second category, you'll find such wonders of nature as fly traps, which grant Thieving XP if you can snatch out their fruit with your fingers intact. There are barberry bushes too, which offer Agility XP to the nimble naturalist. Battle-botanists among you (we know you're out there) will enjoy the al fresco training offered by harvesting sunchoke tubers and prickly pears, which grant Strength and Defence XP respectively.

Note that the amount of non-Farming skill XP given by harvesting these plants is relative to your current level in the relevant skill.

It's spring: the sun is shining, the earth is tilled, and you only reap what you sow. Get out there and get those hands dirty!

Now can someone copy from wiki where and how we can get the seeds? My chrome doesnt work with wiki somehow.

300 MA rank to buy any seeds.

Does this mean, if we were to get the seeds from somewhere else... We could sell them for points, without having to play more of Suicide'r'us?

Just got a Sunchoke seed from an elf.

Went to MA, you can cash it in for 5000 points, so yeah. Also looks like a 1:1 exchange.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

Glorious. Chances are they'll fix that soon enough though, for whatever silly reason they come up with.

How many hotdogs does it take to mow a garage door?

I don't see why you'd need more MA points tbh at the cash-in thing unless you die a lot.

I got 300 rank and quit it, bought all 4 outfits + imbued warrior, archers and seers and I got like 370k left.

At 99 for all combat stats, and 3960 LP, a super zammy brew...

Gave 180 herblore XP (adding zammy wine to zammy brew)

Restored 0 prayer points

Did 336 damage to me

Boosted attack, strength, ranged, and mage to level 112

Lowered defense to level 90

Kind of like a watered-down, tradable overload.

Well this is an exciting update.

Well done to JaGEX for making an update that actually does make older-ish (and inactive) content now useful. It is a welcoming change. Sadly, they are only for higher-tiered members, and not being one, I will not be able to partake in the update for a few months, but regardless it's awesome!

Any idea what the Construction Level req for grapes are/what the exp from building the thing is?

Cool, lower than I anticipated.

Still waiting for them to allow us to build allotments as a room/garden in our house.
