Start with it being doable once per 8 hours, albeit not streamlined for times on each world

Come to the conclusion that's crap

Removed the 1/8H limit

Wait til everyone has gained significant amounts of xp and FCs have gained significant amounts of irl cash

Reintroduce a limit, but reduce to 1/7H

We might see it hit 1 every hour guys! (In about 18 months)

Loot from 100 crystal keys + 4 keys made from key parts obtained looting. I don't think that's a bad charm rate if you have money. All looted in ~1hr, going fairly slowly.

97nIz8p.png

Strangest new loot: 200 each of the elemental and mind/body runes and 50 of the upper level runes through death, excluding astral.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, whenever you loot a key part from the chest, it gives you 15k coins. So add 165k to that loot value.

Never got around to trying out Warbands, now it seems I don't even need to.

gf barraging almost everything, bloodfire, ss, Zilyana-camping and warbanding. Those were good times.

You make it sound like it is the end of Gielnor...It's all just about adapting a bit. To be honest I will probably miss SS the most...Less free healing :/

I can't say I agree with the soul split and bloodfire barrage nerf; we work for those stats so don't we deserve something powerful?

Also, I think it'll be interesting seeing how beams go in warbands now. If they're successful would you have time to loot one, get your rewards and go to another providing it hasn't had it's 1k supplies looted already?

I have to say that I partly agree with your first point here. Getting 92 prayer certainly isn't an easy task. And to get 96 magic (or whatever that requirement is for the highest leveled barrage spell) is certainly not easy either. Both of those levels takes a lot of effort, time and money to gain. Powerful spells and prayers would be a good reward for all of this effort. And a suitable one as well. But SS and barrage have both been a little too much overpowered until now really. I don't think they were intended to make so many monsters such a piece of cake. Bosses should still be somewhat of a challenge even with 90+ prayers and spells. Which many of them weren't really, unless you equipped full bronze and got yourself a dagger to attack with out of the same material.

I'll still miss SS though. But it was a bit too good to be true. Time to go buy some more fishes in the GE before I go bossing again, I guess.

Just to say, contrary to what was implied, DKS still drop DHatchets.

In my opinion, this update was implemented because of how easy it is to bloodfire barrage Bandos, and to a lesser extent sgw. Bandos is a mid level boss the way it is now, and 92 prayer and 94 mage are high levels, so should they not be superior over a mid level boss?

And because people were dw bloodfire barragging near enough every slayer task. Problem with Bandos GWD, normal mode is simply too easy, and hardmode is just stupidly difficult.

There's one thing that stands out, Dagganoth Kings are all level 156, yet Graardor and Zilyana 210 and can be near enough afked. It wasn't necessarily Bloodfire Barrage that needed to be nerfed, it's that the GWD bosses STILL need to be improved. Graar and Zilya can be comfortably disposed of in Nex Gear (probably less, honestly haven't tried) yet someone trying to solo tribid DKS will have a nightmare unless they have Nex or Ports gear.

tl;dr for slayer, bloodfire barrage needed to be fixed, for GWD it did not. GWD has its own inherent problems.

They should be superior, but not to that extent. Bandos have pretty much become a mid-level boss, but I doubt that Jagex intended him to be that. That's one of the reasons to why they did this change, I believe. The others one mentioned here applies as well. Overall Jagex seems to have believed it was too easy to kill certain monsters/bosses with SS and barrage spells.

It's a game update, so much like Legends Quest, Runecrafting or GWD it will obviously be removed after a few weeks. [/sarcasm]

Was going to bring this up. I mean, Nex was lvl1001 when the player cap for combat was 138; now we're capped at 200 and she's 220, and the other god wars bosses are even weaker? Instead of nerfing our stuff for everywhere, why not make them tougher again?

Not a huge fan of the 1/7h system for warbands, but the rest is ok.

SS/blood barrage nerf - seems reasonable, depending on how much it is. But if you can still barrage Graar (as someone posted) then there's basically no reason to complain. The lower damage to secondary targets might help for glacors actually.

Triskellion - seems useless. Level 50 hybrid is useless.

@Tempest: That's because players at level 138 carried 30+ brews (20k+ health) whereas Nex simply had 30k health to start with (iirc) - almost equal in strength, right? That's why constitution level is no longer taken into account. Players would have 24.75 levels from hp, Nex would have 750. If you apply that correction, it's 113 vs. 251 combat, which is really not that far off. Now the same holds for equipment versus levels. The new ratio is much more useful than the old (though still not as good as it could be).

The only update that hurt barraging Graar is the one that leaves the ranging minion at ranging distance - and that's not a nerf, that's sensible.

GWD bosses are tier 7.5 if i remember correctly. Why the hell shouldn't an individual blessed and endowed with the power of Guthix wearing tier 7+ armor with tier 9 weapons/spells have an easy time at them? We should be able to tear through them by those standards. This update was useless. Purely implemented fixes for things that aren't problems.

So tell me, where would anyone use level 50 hybrid armour? Don't go 'fixing' my posts when I'm right >.>.
