As a result, Jagex’s revenues were £53m in 2012, up from £32.9m in the nine months to the end of 2011, generating a pre-tax profit of £9.7m and a £10.9m increase in its cash holdings to £21.8m. Flabberwocky
The Cambridge-based company, whose flagship role-playing title RuneQuest has more than 200m participants worldwide, has signed a publishing deal with Brazilian internet service provider UOL for Portuguese-language versions of its games. Just when you think Jagex's mainstream press coverage has started looking better, the Financial Times calls Jagex's flagship game "RuneQuest." :?

brunokiller
Probably some journalist that played RuneQuest in the 80's, was writing this article and remembered the game as Rune...something... and remembered 'Oh yeah! It's called RuneQuest!'. 6 My blog

Ezkaton
So SoF and Trollomons works then. Good for them. Pity we wont really see much of it reinvested into RS really. The business partners and shareholders etc will be happy though... That's the main thing right? :) Reacting impulsively and saying what's on your mind feels oh so good.. for a little, until you realize you just started WWIII.2672nd person to reach 2496 total. Thanks to Wicked for the awesome siggy :D

I don't know how different RuneScript is from other languages, but training 20 contractors would be a significant investment in itself.

brad1431
20 dev's would be outsourced to india and make like 20K a year, so that would be 400K USD not 5M Euro

Urza285
So I guess SoF/SGS won through for the most part. I remain hopeful they keep to their word on things such as potential candidates for these programs being less-than-likely content for the game. I really do like the whole 'tribes of djinn' and would love to see them I runescape. Maxed [February 14, 2012] | Completionist [October 25, 2012] | Trimmed Completionist [in Progress]Visit my Blog!
