1990eam
Ok, so I quit a long time ago, when I finished school (around 2008). Before that, I had been playing since 2004. I havent played almost at all since then. My brother has leveled dungeoneering but that's it.. I dont have to tell you how much the game has changed since I quit.. Ways of making money have somewhat changed, so I need advice on how to build up my economy again. Here's a pic of my skills. Before quitting, I was trying to get 91RC for double nats, but maybe there's something better for my skills now. Any advice is greatly appreciated :D Skills
Quyneax
If you're going to b p2p I would recommend getting more skills for player-owned-ports, quest cape and elite diaries. Th e Doctor
Pretty much what Q said. The best thing you can do to learn the game again is to do quests and achievements. I set my personal goals around completing the Task Master achievement. You already have 90+ fishing so you could start doing Player Owned Ports, you're also only 1 level off of 90 rc which is both a req for the Occultist in Ports as well as the req for crafting the t8.5 mage armor you will eventually get from ports so I would get that first. 1. Get 90 RC (you can do this in runespan fairly quickly, expect 80-100 k exp/hr)2. Work on as many quests as possible.3. Work on as many achievements as possible. For money you can start farming herbs, investing into Manage Thy Kingdom, and some dailies (buying battlestaffs from zaff in varrock, buying broad arrowheads from the slayer master both of these are once per day). For the best herb to farm here's a spreadsheet showing profit per patch with each herb.https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AldEhLOK6ejJdGUzRWRJaUo1LXpJU2RrYmNNVmNVT1E#gid=0 If you have questions about what any of the stuff that I mentioned is please google it or look it up in rs wiki as they already will have it typed up in a fairly decent manner. If you have questions for clarification on how or why any of those things should be done those questions those are harder to come by and most on these forums can provide some good insights that you won't find from google or rswiki themselves. Armadyl Drops : 4 Hilts; 3 Chestplates; 2 Chainskirts; 1 Helmet; 1 Buckler; 2 Shard 1; 2 Shard 2; 1 Shard 3Nex : 1 Zaryte BowKalphite King : 1 Drygore Rapier ; 1 Drygore Longsword : 1 Drygore Offhand Rapier : 1 Drygore Offhand Longsword
1990eam
I'll eventually catch up on the new content. I've been doing quests yes. Is 91RC and doubling nats still what people do? It's weird that you dont mention 91rc at all. Has everything really changed that much? When I quit, doubling nats was everything one could dream of haha. CountryDevil
for the most part skilling isn't near as possible as killing, specifically bossing. quest point cape achieved 2/13/
Quyneax
I'm afraid crafting double nats is nearly useless, bloods are better but also useless. The top profitable skilling methods are all farming, the top overall methods are all bossing. 1990eam
Well that's a bummer. How come doubling nats was ruined? I see the best seeds give around 30k profit and take 1hour 20 minutes to grow. But I have to multiply that for the number of patches there are.. So how many patches are there? 5? I need to look all this up. I'm not a fan of bossing, but which ones are you talking about? That involves risking your gear too by the way.. pulli23
Well that was due to a lot of factors, it was also not that nature runes "crashed" but rather they gradually declined: - First zmi almost doubled xp rate (so more people went for 91)- Then high alching stuff became relative worse manner of providing cash to the economy (bosses dropped a lot of raw cash). Devaluating cash or more literary cash/alch- Then training magic through barraging lobsters became a more prominent way to get 91 than through superheating/alching- Then runecrafting became a lot easier for bots (This, I saw, was the biggest factor) - no longer needing to go through wilderness as best method.- And finally runespan pushed the nails in the RC coffin making RC a quick-to-afk-train-skill. First they came to fishingand I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing Then they came to the yewsand I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews Then they came for the oresand I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me. 1990eam
I used to play around with Manage Thy Kingdom but I suppose it's changed a lot as well. I might not have a lot of time for the next month to start playing like I would want to because of school, but I've read around the forums that I could stack up on resources with MtK until I start playing. Any advices or good updated guides on MtK?
CountryDevil
look up grimy's spreadsheets when you cash out mtk for the most profitable and I usually log in weekly to raise the favor quest point cape achieved 2/13/
Quyneax
MTK hasn't changed at all except for the profitability of various resources. Maples are down because nests crashed because brews are useless. I think a combination of coal and raw fish is the best now (based on wiki calc http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculator:Other/Miscellania). Edit: Grimy's spreadsheet recommends 10 mining & 5 herbs.
