Suppose having the ZMI mages helps bring a bit of neutrality back to lumby with the white knights.

I personally think Papa Mambo would be cool though just for Jadinkos running around, but meh. Wish these decisions weren't based on everyone's votes :(

Why would he bring Jadinkos?

We are only after magical wards.

I voted 'do nothing' for recruiting the Falador Knights, recruiting the Lumbridge Guards and training/equipping the Lumbridge Guards. The idea here is that Lumbridge should act as a hospital. The druids can probably help there, Mambo would probably just grow flowers on the wounded or something, and the ZMI is more concerned with other things than healing I think.

Magical protection doesn't necessarily mean wards.

The Jadinkos are magical creatures. He very well could bring the non-mutated adult jadinkos for protection.

Magical protection does imply spells and since when are Jadinko's magical?

They are just living vine creatures, perfectly normal for Gielinor without magic.

Magical protection just implies that the protection is magical in nature. Don't be pedantic.

As for your second point:

45Unh.png

Her being the Jade Vine, which was infused with Mambo's own magic:

45UpX.png

And please don't go "ohh but being infused with magic doesn't make it magical protectionlbgjsktasflksgateagkat" because I really don't need a hospital bill for another aneurysm. This is the sort of magical protection Papa Mambo could provide. It does not mean it's limited to only that, or that voting him would guarantee jadinkos in lumby. It's simply a statement of plausibility.

To think that something so small required this much explanation @[email protected]

And those vines are magically enhanced, and the jadinkos are magically connected to the vine. Therefore it's completely plausible to say that they could be used if Papa Mambo was chosen.

I don't understand the problem here.

The town and castle doesn't need magical protection, it's already armed to the teeth with the fully trained and equipped Lumbridge Guards complete with a small battalion of white knights. The whole defence thing is sorted, the focus needs to be on aiding the residents if they need it.

If we get the ZMI involved, they will pick a fight the white knights, and the battle will effectively be brought into what remains of Lumbridge. Papa Mambo is crazy and I can't see him helping. The druids are pacifists and will likely refuse to have anything to do with the conflict, and we're low on funds already. I vote for "don't get anyone involved".

Has there been any news on how we'll actually see the "consequences" of these decisions? Right now it's just seeing a few new NPC additions each week.

Had I known better of how the system worked, I would have gone a step further:

1. I would have played switzerland and refused entry to both Saradomin and Zamorak refugee, having a battle near Lumbridge is already bad enough, having it WITH Lumbridge, or especially, IN Lumbridge will just spell doom for the village.

2. I would have gotten aid from a non-god affiliated faction, which meant that both Varrock AND Falador are definitely out, leaving with Al Kharid being top choice, given their proximity and lack of affiliated god.

3. Training guardsmen and equipping them. If I were to play Switzerland, I'll need the men to pull it off. Thieves guild doesn't strike me as fighters as much as scouts, which our current situation doesn't need (if we were to actively engage in a war, then they'll definitely be needed).

I think it's funny that the duke thinks anything he can do will make a difference if the gods actually decided to attack lumbridge. I mean they already destroyed half his wall on accident...

This is basically what I told my sister (who plays RS) after I found out that the duke thing was being decided by the players. Irritating that so many people don't seem to get the concept of budgeting our funds. Though tbh, the duke started this with so little money, I think he maybe needs a lesson or 3 on kingdom management. Maybe he should talk to the manager of Misc, she seems to be doing a pretty good job, even though she is in a deep state of bereavement .

Although I can share in the irritation that "we'll" be out of money in the coffers before long, I can't really blame everyone who voted the most expensive options. We're given literally nothing more than a few short sentences telling us what the outcome'll be like. No numbers, nothing to really compare - except for price - and generally, more expensive things are better. At least, that's what I'm assuming the general population's thinking is.

More to the point, we have no idea what the future choices will be. Getting the white knights in may have been the best option in the whole event. We might get fundraising options later. We might run out of funds in two weeks and get locked out of a truly great choice. There might even be something that we would have only been able to afford if we saved for it from the beginning.

Part of it is i just feel its particular ludicrous that we are *paying* for help. I'd have gone to Fally and Vorrock and Al Kharid and been like, if you don't help stop this here, it's only going to spread, you guys are literately a 2 minute run from the battle field. Get you butts down here to defend for the good of RS. We must hang together or we will all hang separately.

Add that to the ludicrous presupposition that underlies all this that any mortal armed force can have any effect on a battle between two *gods* and it just seems such a waste of gp that could be saved to try to fix things, or help non-combatant refuges to safety, or something.

On top of that, if I was one of gods, and saw a third armed force gathering outside my camp, I might just think that it was the work of some other god, and team up with Zammy long enough to squash this new threat before it became a threat. Just sitting here thinking has made me come up with more reasons why this is such a terrible approach.

But I really agree. If Jagex wanted a "good" outcome, they should have done this whole duke thing differently. Otherwise it's just going to be decided by a bunch of teenagers, that through no fault of their own, really don't have the life experience to budget or people that just don't care because it's just a game. Which it is, but I just don't like the idea that lumby's going to look like a broken down slum in game from now on. It's embarrassing how much game time it took me when I stated playing to get out of that place.

edit: And ALG is right, we don't know what the future holds for the events. But I just get this feeling that it's not going to be good. It's my natural pessimism.

Lumbridge might recieve a final graphical "fix" to denote that the battle effected it. I would be fine with that, but what I'm hoping for is some lasting nods to the events that occurred.

Oh, I'm sure they will get around to fixing lumby, just as quickly as

[spoiler=they've fix]the damage the dragonkin did to Edgeville.

Maybe they can get them both on an HGTV show.

If anyone's still trying to gather sacred metal fragments but hates combat, there's a FC called "hop4metal" which basically calls out worlds where sacred metal resources spawn. They also do the yellow resource thing which will help you reach 3k faster.

"Yellow resource thing?". Is that the Guthix's life energy stuff?

No it's when the 'unstable nodes' go yellow instead of orange and opposed to damage you get triple rate of tears.

Thank you. I have found this fc very useful recently =). Now I can contribute to Saradomin even more. Poor Zamorak.

So, a bit of changing topic here...But, how are you all? Excited for Divination today? Because I certainly am! :D

yeah, I would like to say I would be asleep right now if it wasn't for my terrible neck ache, but I'm done lying to my self this year. I'm a chronic insomniac and a new skill could be released any moment (even though it will probably be at least 2 hr, knowing jagex time). I know why I'm not asleep. Insomnia+Excitement= being awake at 4 am after laying in bed for ~two hours going, "I will fall asleep and be somewhat rested for new skill, I will, I Will!!"

No, you wont, stop lying to yourself. After all, your neck hurts
