Sy_Accursed 1554 Posted July 12, 2013 That whole 'get 3 ox on crew screen' thing from a few pages back. I've been doing my crew re-rolls daily for like 3 months to try and hit that...I have 2 that do not match on 'flavour text' and the 3rd slot has yet to see an oxhead. Dang my luck blows. Squakus 95 Posted July 12, 2013 I got this a few days after Meamzed won the challenge for identical flavour text, and decided it wasn't worth posting. Now that it's being brought up again, I figured why not. As the size of an explosion increases, the number of social situations it is incapabale of solving approaches zero. jayc3399 197 Posted July 12, 2013 In case anyone was interested, or ignorant like I was... Wow, not sure how you managed that, almost 100% positive the cap was set to 2 a while back. I have noticed though that when I get standard voyage rerolls I only get them ~35% of the time, even with 0 queued up. WeatherMatt 87 Posted July 12, 2013 Caps are weird, I somehow got 2 adventurer rerolls in a row a while back. I didn't get a chance to use my first, and lo and behold I only had one to use, so I wasted it. So apparently my personal adventurer reroll cap is 1.

PolarBearBlue 294 Posted July 16, 2013 Just my option, but if you still got skills to train I'd make them myself to use. At least that's what I do with rock crushing. But only because I don't have a steady income for 300k scrimshaws. If you do have a good income then just buy yours and sell combat scrimshaws. chenw 451 Posted July 16, 2013 Or, you could simply make the combat ones and buy the skilling ones, you usually can get it for 1 for 2 roughly. You don't even need a steady income. Saradomin_Mage 3562 Posted July 16, 2013 Aren't self-made superiors better than their tradeable counterparts, though? In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
chenw 451 Posted July 16, 2013 For the skilling ones, I have no idea by how much, or if there is even any improvement of untradeables over tradeables. If it is indeed better, I expect no better than "marginally" better 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. Saradomin_Mage 3562 Posted July 16, 2013 Superior versions give bonuses 33% larger than the tradeable versions (e.g. superior tree shaking has a 400% boost to nests, tradeable tree shaking is a 300% boost). In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
chenw 451 Posted July 16, 2013 Let's assume I train WC for 12 hours. In that time, I would have used 3 superiors, or 4 normals. Also assume that on average, a cost of a superior is 2x normals (combat ones are worth on average roughly twice as much as skilling ones) So the cost becomes 30 ancient bones vs 20 ancients bones (the former making 3 superiors, the latter making 2 tradeables, and use the money to buy 4 tradeable tree shaking). The question then becomes, does 12 hours of woodcutting without any scrimshaw yield enough nests that on average would cover the cost of 10 ancient bones? (The difference between sup and normal is 100% nests per hour). 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. WeatherMatt 87 Posted July 18, 2013 I just noticed that, statistically, the hardest voyage in the game still gets only 4 out of 5 anchors on the difficulty scale. That's slightly retarded.
chenw 451 Posted July 18, 2013 I believe the anchors are scaled to your crew quality, hence why voyages only scale up to 4 when you are, or close to maxed crew 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. Th e Doctor 205 Posted July 18, 2013 89% on that 12k triple includes a merchant, right? Yes it does. Good luck, may the RNG God's be kind. I accidentally fired a seafaring crew instead of my 4th merch when I got my last oxhead 3 days ago. Now I can't roll a sf crew again for the life of me and I don't need 4 merchants because I only send out trade goods voyages and I'm lucky to get 3 in a day let alone 4. chenw 451 Posted July 18, 2013 I keep 4 merchants, I fired a combat crew instead.
