We still can't use bonus experience on Divination, even though the front page is filled up (80 people have 99) and rank one has 18.6m xp. I have 14 lamps in my inventory, if this goes on another week it'll be 20, and meanwhile the september xp will go to waste.

According to Mod Ana's Twitter on 31st August, you won't be able to for another 2-3 weeks.

I understood that they wanted to stop bonus xp until someone got 99, and for 2-4 weeks (depending on jmod) so I was hoping for the shorter end of that range, because 4 weeks serves no purpose. It's bloody annoying that you can't bank these lamps (15 now >.>).

Damn, I was hoping I could buy one of the cool teleports. The helicopter is okay, I guess, but not really my first choice.

 

Thing is the pricing of the SGS as a whole is pretty arbitrary though, just look at the rediculous cost of things like the assassins pack compared to other items/membership

 

The shadow assassin was a lot better and cheaper anyways. I forget, but what was in the assassin's pack? You get the outfit, and what else? All the other packs (Guthix/hero) had teleports and emotes, I don't recall the assassin's pack having a teleport.

It has a teleport, an emote, and a title, as well as the outfit.

I just checked, and as far as I can tell (outside of maybe a few titles?) absolutely nothing from the old loyalty shop is purchasable with rune coins.

Ugh I was expecting being able to use lamps and pendants on Div today :(

 

Why? They clearly stated it would be at least 4 weeks until that happens.

It was stated two weeks by a reliable source actually. But that wasn't that official source though. Even the "four weeks" for mod Michelle's twitter isn't completely solid.

It's a stupid decision whatever the case may be. It only inadvertently punishes maxed players who have pendants saved up. We don't have any other skills to train and we will get 99 way before then. Just silly.

I agree, but just do the smart thing: Have all your bxp stuff saved up, maxed and ready. Honestly saving the pendants for the production skill might be better anyways. By the time that's released you should have even more. Not to mention you'll also know what it requires so you could probably spend time either grinding cash to buy what's needed. Then on the four week mark use all your pendants and such on it with a fully prepped bank. Ideally you would train it a bit before then. You would just be idiotic to train it from the start using pendants and such. Maybe get it up to 60-70?

unless they do the same thing, in which case the exp never gets used if people get to 99 first

 

this is partially why i will never fight to max a skill when i know that i won't actually have to put any effort into it and it will present itself to me when it wants to

By the time that's released you should have even more. Not to mention you'll also know what it requires so you could probably spend time either grinding cash to buy what's needed. I have maxed penguin points, some 20-25 pendants + over 100 recharge gems. Originally it was supposed to be this week (according to one Reddit post), and I would have been able to do it this week, use up all my stored stuff. But now it's another 2 weeks, and I will probably get it easily before then. And you're quite right about not using them up early -- that would be stupid. I was hoping to use mine in the late 80's.

Anyone know which of the items in store got graphical updates? I looked at them a bit and couldn't notice anything too significant.

Some of the cultural outfits and that's it I think.

Hmm... I had not actually thought about that. As tedious, boring and slow Divination is, the next skill if it has similar experience rates will be much more painful.

I'd expect about twice the rate of divination given that the next skill will be a production one.

If it isn't slower, it'll be impossible to train for a long time for most people. It's definitely a better use of pendants.
