[hide] Hi. My name is Ping. I'm not a frequent poster on Tip.it, and I'm not too outspoken in game either. I am 18 years old and I am from the small island of Taiwan. English isn't my native language, so I apologize beforehand for any silly grammar errors. I apologize for the lack of information, I'll add more if things work out, but right now I don't feel comfortable disclosing too much information.

 

Outside of Runescape, I play League of Legends and DoTA 2. I mostly play DoTA 2 now, but League is where I started that genre of games, so it'll always have a special place in my heart. :wub:  [/hide]

 

A little bit about my runescape history.

 

 

I was introduced into this game when it became popular in my elementary school, and I've followed it on and off ever since. I had long periods of quitting, but holiday events kept me returning every year, and despite all of my friends quitting, I kept on. I'm not overly social, and I never felt belonging much in game. However, about 4 years ago, I found a group of people at clan wars, and somehow I made friends with them. We became incredibly close, and for the first time I felt a sense of true belonging. However, I had to quit eventually due to classes, and after returning about 9 months ago I found out that all of them had quit and moved on. I kept playing, but the game slowly began to drag, and I couldn't stay focused for long, often playing for several weeks then stopping for a month or two. 

 

However, I've recently decided that, after playing this game for close to 9 years, that I will become members. I feel intrigued by the questlines available in members, so decided I will give it a shot. I guess that makes my blog not too different from most other blogs out there, but I've decided one thing in my trip into membership. I'm going to keep this game fun for as long as possible. This means I'll probably do questing most of the time, and I will train skills when I feel like it. Am I aiming for any 99s? Not for now. I want to be immersed in the story and enjoy my membership in a different way. I'm not familiar with quotes, but someone sometime ago said something along the lines of "It's not about the destination, but the journey." I'm going to try and live to that quote, and play as such. I will play like an adventurer. Which means I won't be doing things the optimal way, I won't be using optimal gear, and I'll probably make a load of stupid mistakes. Nonetheless, I believe a game is more fun the less you know, and EoC truly achieved that. I used to pride myself in knowledge regarding members content, but much have changed and I decided that this time, I will venture in blind (somewhat)

 

 

 

 

Some self "rules" of my playthrough:

• I will avoid using quest-guides if possible.
• I will also avoid "quest hunting", where I go to a place purely to complete a single quest for the reward. 
• An exception to the above rule is if I really wish to visit an area, and quests are involved. I believe it's more adventure-like as you will do whatever you are required to get to where you want to go. The above rule applies more towards item rewards.
• Trade is allowed, but I will try not to abuse it.

I'm taking out the rules, I found out it's difficult to have fun while having to watch out for rules all the time, ahaha!

To make up for the FREEDOM! atrocity of removing rules, I'll put some goals here:

Ah, a humble beginning for a humble adventurer. At the time I post this topic, I will be paying for my membership and beginning my adventure!

 

I am in college, but I will play when I feel comfortable and can find the time. I will try and keep this updated as much as possible!

Found a quest(or two) near the G.E., I guess I'll do it after I throw in some offers on the GE.

If my memory serves, it's the cat quest :) Meow!

 

and it's done!

 

I bought myself a saradomin sword (a weapon I loved for a while now), then found I needed 1 more attack level to wield it. ouch.

 

Edit: I forgot to mention I went ahead and did some of my God banner tasks. I didn't get any rewards aside from xp, so I didn't take any photos, sorry!

I couldn't sleep. This is too exciting! After helping the lady in Varrock with her cat, I decide it might be time to venture into some member territory. I began my travels at Burthrope, a city I have already been to. However, things have changed, and I'm here to explore what new things I can do!

You may want to include a bench mark list of goals to obtain over the long course of time you'll be playing. I think using quotes, bold font and lists will be your friend. Anything quite lengthy would be best used with hide tags. You should post plenty of pictures of interesting moments and level ups.

 

I think the best advice anyone can give you for blogging is to take a peak around everyone elses blogs to see what you like about their layouts. Then from there emulate them.

 

I would also think making some blogger friends would do you a lot of good.

No, but seriously. Welcome to P2P RS! You're gonna enjoy so much the first 3 months. When I was first P2P I did a lot of GWD with a clan member...it did not go so well. But try not to overload yourself. Oh, and if you are looking for a good quest series story wise, I think you'll enjoy the Myreque story line.

I said can I buy it he said 4k and all i had was 4.9k left so I bought it off him. 10 Minutes later I walked to burthorpe and found the slayer shop and then found out it only costs 190gp to buy :(

I ran over asap, and found a massive demon fighting a group of players!

I died many times, and accidentally lost my dragon saradominist token :(

however, here are the rewards:

 

I went back to the crater to try and reclaim my token, but there were no recruitment officer to reclaim it from... Is it gone for good?

 

I wandered around the back and spotted a quest marker!

 

I would love to help, but...

Oh well... I'll help you later then. After that disappointment,I dropped by the wizards' tower. I remember a members minigame being on top, and went to investigate what's it all about.

Yes!, finally got enough points for the hood! GIMME!!

While wandering around Catherby, I found a quest marker:

I decided to hang around Zanaris and kill some otherworldly beings, maybe they'll drop me a dragon med! I decided to take this opportunity and hit 75 attack to use my shiny new sword too :)

Well, That's enough Zanaris for now, but before I left, I decided to grab a slayer task from the slayer master:

Kalphite Hunting:

The Kalphite Lair; looks dangerous

The man is really weird though :o

Fighting workers!

 

They dealt a little more damage than I expected, had to run and restock after about 80 workers. Here's the loot from the first section:

 

When I went back, I went and challenged some soldiers, and when I had two kalphites left on my task, I went and killed two guardians, one of which dropped the super attack :)

I found out the bonus of Warpriest armour can proc on poison!

The charms are the total from both trips, I didn't bank them because I didn't include them in the loot picture the first time. :P

My slayer level literally shot up during this task (27 now)!

 

 

I also got another task from my emissiary:

On a side note, I bought this off the G.E. I wanted a dragonfire shield, but it still costs a fair bit (1.2m). This shield has the SAME stats, in fact it has one more prayer point, and it costs 72k... What a steal!! ;D

I guess I can only use the anti-dragon shield now for dragon hunting though :/

Best blog ever.

 

If you can afford to spend the 1.2m on a Dragonfire shield, it's well worth it.

I heavily recommend the (Magic) DFS, because Protect from Magic + a regular Antifire potion does the same thing as a DFS on chromatic dragons, so a DFS (Ranged) is much less useful.

(Chromatics = weak to Ranged, Metal dragons = weak to Magic. You'll still get hit for thousands of LP in damage if you only use a regular antifire potion + Protect from Magic, so a DFS is a must for those, until you get 80+ herblore at least.)

I am very bad at "where is the best place to train?" type questions though.

 

Actually, just join the TIF official friends chat ("Serpent Eye"), you'll find most of us on there often, as well as some of the more knowledgeable players like Baraqiel, Gwynrwyn, etc. Even Pingouin can't leave us :P

So, I tried to be smart when heading to the GE and teleported to Edgeville, knowing there is a shortcut there, and I found this guy:

So awesome! there really should be more treants in this game! As a side note, My agility level wasn't high enough to use the shortcut :(

 

Well, Off to agility training!

I then went to Chaeldar to get my next task:

So, Following the advice earlier, I decided to get a Dragonfire Shield!

After heading to the G.E, (making sure to use the shortcut), I found this:

Anyway, I went and put an offer in:

After this, I decided to go kill some stuff for my Emissary tasks in Karamja.

However, I got COMPLETELY distracted by this :

After wandering around, I found these guys:

So, I tried to find out what they're doing (he's shooting at the cracked ball):

WHAT! WHAT DO YOU MEAN I'M NOT SKILLED ENOUGH *RAGE*

I spent the next hour or so slaughtering the innocent citizens of um...Lavatown?

I got a ton of charms, but they don't seem to stack... How odd.

I didn't feel happy after slaughtering innocent citizens, so I went and did something which didn't involve killing: Thieving!

Master farmers are very sensitive in their pockets

While I was training in Varrock, I ruined some poor fellow's life:

It left a sour taste in my mouth, so I went to pickpocket some people who are more annoying:

Hey guys, sorry about the huge lack of updates! I'm still alive and kicking!

I've been dealing with midterms and between studying and digging time to make use of my newfound membership there really wasn't a lot of time to go through and upload photos :(

 

I've got one last batch of work tonight, and then hopefully I will still have enough energy in me to upload and narrate :)

Hey guys! I'm finally back...!

 

Sorry it took so long, I was very occupied with work,and anytime I could find I found it better spent playing than typing  :oops:

 

I've done quite a bit though, so here's the update!

 

 

Alright, so the first thing I did after the events above was to try and get myself the strongest magic cape in the game.

 

I got camped the first second I teleported using the edgeville lever, but evenually I got the cape!

I also went ahead and unlocked the spell for use outside :)

To celebrate, I bought myself a shiny new wand :) (I got a discount too!)

My next location was Karamja. (not getting distracted this time, I swear!)

I found a guy in old school armour!(I miss the old medium helms)

Activated the lodestone:

After walking around a bit more, I got attacked by some tribesman!

I went to the tribe leader:

After that, I left the island (Didn't want to spend too much time in the jungle), and went to finish up my god emissiary tasks:

This guy wasn't directly related, but I had to kill him to access the blue dragons which I need to kill. (Check out that amazing weapon!)

I left soon after because my combat level is simply too low to deal with those who played the game.

I went ahead and activated the lodestone:

Went ahead and did the nature spirit quest:

I also found another quest slightly south to the grove, and decided to do it as well!

This quest really creeped me out though, so I decided to leave this haunted land for a while...

 

Back to Ardougne!

And.... I rescue her!

 I then went back to do some more Farming, as the skill was really growing on me.  :mrgreen:

I, of course, went and bought that scroll immediately:

 

 

Ugh, I had a lot more typed up, but the browser messed up and deleted 30 minutes worth of work. #-o  Thanks to the save feature it's not everything, but I'm pretty put off right now... I'll probably type the rest up later... :wall:
