I can see myself in an archon headress striking swift justice :3

Go armadyl ^-^, i'm happy with cooldowns and abillities :), the slayer monsters seem nice I just hope they don't degrade.

the gloves do degrade... It has been confirmed all gear from t90 will be created from ashes and to ashes they will return!

I really hope they won't require us to participate for 4 hours a day slaving in the world event to get all the rewards. :/ As a student with lots of upcoming tests, I'm slightly concerned I'll miss out.

You should be done your tests by the time it rolls out I would imagine.

It's a minor point, but you can't possibly know that. You don't even know when his exams are. If they're after Christmas, which isn't unusual, your reassurances fall flat.

With the bts vid for it next friday it seems as though the world event will be launching ~9th Dec

6 week event takes us right through the ~20th jan

A lot of post-xmas exams/deadlines fall right in that window.

[/hide]

Same here, we got exams from the 13th till the 20th. And again in January some re-take exams (which I thank god for that I dont need to do them as I passed them earlier, and I'm an Athiest!)

Yep. Couldn't agree more.

This is bang-on, right in the middle of the typical university / college exam season. I know a lot of my friends on other courses have got assignments / dissertation briefs due in the next few weeks, and exams pretty much straight after New Year. Busiest time of the year for lots of people.

The only thing to be said is that during the actual holiday periods themselves, RuneScape playing numbers rise dramatically as people find themselves having whole days off to play with, which is typical with other games and other gaming formats. So could people spare four hours then? Yeah, probably. Hard to see elsewhere, though.

Kind of annoying that they release T90 gloves less than eight months after T85, though.

No more annoying than when they nerfed t85 armour as a whole a couple of months after most of it came out with the whole tank:power thing.

I mean aren't the t85 gloves (and glacor boots) kinda meh anyway being tank items?

Pretty happy with everything aside from them still portraying Zamorak as evil, despite recent consistent statements to the contrary, and level 90 melee gloves but not boots or gloves for other styles. It'll be so long before we have equivalents if the other gear has been any indication... -.-

Oh, and what the hell is with their description of Bandos? Isn't that exactly what they say Zamorak is about?

I will start working 12 hours a day monday-friday soon, and only really have any time to play on the Weekends. I will probably miss out if they require that much work :\ That is why this upsets me.

I don't care about the armor, but the new abilities worry me, especially if there is something worthwhile for Ranged.

I'm not sure how to put this to words. I've always been kind of a lurker around here, since scapeboards. Anyway, that was not the point. I just feel everytime I come here to read the current topics, all I can see is "whining" (or maybe those posts just tend to stick out). Sorry, english isnt my first language so I cant describe it better than that. But one thing I know. This gives the forums a VERY negative feel all together. Anyway for this latest issue of slaving away to get all the rewards (which are mostly cosmetic)... Why do you even bother if you dont enjoy it? Trust me, I understand the OCD to try to gain everything, NOTHING good comes out of it. I think, one thing you need to do is, ask yourself is if you really NEED this certain item/cosmetic/whatever. Oh, and I really dont mind constructive criticism, but if its endless.. Why do you still keep playing the game?

Oddish makes a fair point. I'm a fair lurker myself, that occasionally goes on active posting streaks. It is a tad tired-some reading similar rants from specific individuals on every thread.

Personally I'm looking forward to the world event as I'm a lore fan. I'm curious how they will have a god die, lore wise. Until now, we've only seen 2 gods die and both of them were killed with elder artifacts (the sword and staff). So I'm curious if the next world event will be fought over an elder artifact and the loser gets stabbed with it. Currently though, that sounds unlikely. Instead Jagex is taking the new approach that with enough divination energy a god could kill another god. Sorta opens up a new lore string of how gods can be dethroned. I'm halfway waiting for the battle to go similar to Lumbridge's and once the god lays defeated on the ground like Zamorak, Sliske teleports in and stabs them XD. (Gotta admit you could see it happen, it would give him a point in the comp too, Sliske seems to be the manifestation of plot twists)

Along with that I'm hopeful the primer club will be worthwhile this year around as I'm interested in actually paying out for it this time around. Kinda regret I didn't last year as I would of liked the 1 extra spin each day and the cosmetic items.

I do agree that there are a small handful of posters that are overly negative about every single thing Jagex does, and I've learned to tune them out. However, the rest of TIF I would classify as 'reasonably skeptical' in the sense that they are not overtly rude and condescending to Jagex as a whole but still weigh in their differing opinions freely, which is good. I think the grind around BoL was worth such discussion. 10 weeks of "mandatory" 3-4 hours of BoL per day for all rewards was not really sensible. Obviously Jagex hadn't intended for players to switch sides in an effort to gain all possible rewards, but it happened nonetheless and if no one had said anything the next world event would have been similar.

I will say I am very thankful for the opportunity to directly purchase Loyalty Points-- for people who quit for a long time or started recently, they are way behind on LP and some of the auras provide very powerful abilities that help quite a lot for bossing. Invigorate and the Range/Mage accuracy boosters are both very valuable.

Frankly I am disapoointed that the harbingers of tuska masks are just for gaining xp. Then again it would be nice to see the masks become the combat counterpart to the ancient effigies. The difference is this time around they should require memories of fortitude (defense), cunning (attack), brutality (strength), stamina (constitution), spirituality (summoning), deftness (ranged), channeling energy (magic), clarvoyance (prayer) and prowess (slayer).

World Event 2 is what I look forward to the most this month. That and the Armadyl outfit. So far I have had to go with keepsakes for my Armadyl, every-day outfit. I really do hope that the outfit will be as good as the previous ones for Saradomin and Zamorak. As well as I really hope that they are serious about not making this WE as repetitive as WE1. But I do honestly think they have learnt their lesson now. And finally: LORE :D. This really seems like it will be my favourite update of the month.

But...No quest this month either :( ? Well, I know the Christmas event is like a quest, but... :/

Up to Snow Good

Woohoo! More events. I'm not sure if I want to participate in this, though. It's not that i'm big on the whole "expwaste" thing, I just think i'll have more fun training skills. =p

Festive Aura

Awesome! If this has an exp cap, i'll use it on Divination. Otherwise, i'll probably use it on Agility. I would use it on a Buyable skill, but I have no money, and I dare say that prices are going to shoot up during the duration of it. Unless people think otherwise?

12 15 Days of Xmas

I can't say i'm too keen on new rare items. I thought Jagex was against adding new discontinued items into the game? At any rate, I don't think that I have the money or trading skills to profit from this, so i'll just save my money and time instead =]

The Bird and the Beast - the Second World Event

Wow! Unfortunatly I missed the first event, and will therefore have to camp Sara monsters for my Warpriest armor, but i'm very excited to be taking part in the next event.

I don't support either side; My character is a supporter of Zaros who believes that only the Empty Lord is worthy to rule over Gielinor. To that end, I would have sided against Zamorak in the Battle of Lumbridge, both to take revenge for my Master and to ensure that Zamorak does not wield the power to further his means. Likewise, In this upcoming battle, I will be siding with Armadyl - Bandos is probably the greater of the two threats to my Master, being a capable god of war and one that once wielded more power then Armadyl. Nipping this threat in the bud will certainly play into our hands.

From a real world point of view, I just don't like the character of Bandos. It's not something that most people can empathize with - being mostly "RAWR RAWR CRUSH DESTROY". Armadyl on the other hand, has more depth - Armadyl is the god of Justice, but is commonly overshadowed by Saradomin. Armadyl seeks peace but is always forced into battle; Armadyl has cried over the loss of some of his followers, etc. So, i'll be siding with Armadyl. I hope he wins!

I don't know how the last event worked, but Construction and Divination are my lowest skills - I could use some experience in them. While I am not a fan of PvP, i'm also excited for new abilities. Overall, I think this is what i'm looking forward the most to this month =]

Harbingers of Tuska

I am interested in the lore and i'd like to see the new mechanics for these monsters, but overall I think the best way to kill these will probably be with the tier 90+ gear that I can't afford, haha. I like that they are added to Kuradel's Dungeon - Great for lazy slayers, like me.

Solomon’s General Store

Apart from not knowing what Legendary pets are, this doesn't really affect or interest me. The only cosmetic items in Solomon's store that interest me are ones relating to Zaros.

Premier Club

This looks awesome! Because I left a while ago, I missed out on Auras and Loyalty points and things like that...Now, I can actually afford to pay for a large, up-front membership package, and the benefits seem to be great. I'm not sure I like the concept of VIP worlds - Isn't that already what Members worlds are? If anything, i'd like to see a greater concentration of players, not a lesser one...Seems like pointless promoting of elitism.

However, extra free spins and Loyalty points are great. I might finally be able to finish off my Greenfingers aura, or even have enough left over to buy a cosmetic Gaze aura. =]

Doesn't look like a very interesting month, in my opinion. Holiday event is the usual, the festive aura is just cheap bonus xp, there's going to be lots of SoF/Solomon's updates, tradable rares (!?), the new slayer monster is going to be annoying to hunt, not worth it for xp and the gloves will degrade to dust. The only thing worth looking forward to is the world event, and that only for the rewards, because Divination sucks so bad.

So basically, the updates this month are RWT, holiday, temporary rewards for the people who play *now* and one new slayer monster. We're not getting crucial reworks for skills, monsters, EoC, equipment, quests or whatever. Well, more time to afk at Castle Wars I suppose. Trimming truly becomes reachable for everyone if no content and free xp keep coming.

Ah, the gloves are going to degrade to dust? That's no good then =[

I don't think that trimming is reachable for everyone. I'd be lucky if I even maxed in a few years, let alone getting a completionist cape!

Added a poll as I'm curious- Which god will you side with for World Event 2?

Doesn't even have to be asked, everyone will pick Armadyl.

I hope they do! =]

And nor do the t70 power armour gloves and boots from GWD sets and last I checked t70 power > t85 tank

Is this just for general use, such as slayer, or for everywhere?

Oddish makes a fair point. I'm a fair lurker myself, that occasionally goes on active posting streaks. It is a tad tired-some reading similar rants from specific individuals on every thread.

Im interested if we can use the sacred metal fragments from BoL for any Armadyl/Bandos over-rides, since I've got an odd 12k sitting in my bank.

They said in QAs and such the fragments would have no use in future world events.

Side-bar:

I think Bandos' problem is twofold, firstly he is hard to agree with compared to the other 'evil' gods. They all have an underlying purpose and motive, Bandos is just smash smash smash. Secondly he seems to be quite similar to what Tuska is going to be, Tuska however seems far more interesting with the mindless beast and all that going on rather than being a supposedly highly sentient creature that just wants to smash stuff and be vengeful and bullying.

Also I think there is a factor that deep down all of us kind of like the prospect of peace ruling Gielinor (to an extent) in the longterm; we don't want constant needless battles tearing up the world forever more and this is all that Bandos desires.

What if the new abilities were something like Armadyls/Bandos Warcry: Deal 5% extra damage for 60 seconds. 20 minute cooldown.
