I will help Bandos,

why?

Because i'm a Guthixian thus I will try to help balancing the fight as much as I can

But Guthix wanted a world free from gods therefore the most Guthixian route in such an event is not to seek balance but to seek the option that will best remove gods with minimal destruction.

Removing a god that wants nothing but war and thus destruction and ensuring this does happen smoothly by supporting the seemingly larger other side would be far more in keeping with Guthix's desires.

That's assuming the "Guthix as true neutral!balance" thing is still relevant at all.

It's kind of bullshit how this has to be a popularity contest. Bandos is clearly stronger and more powerful than Armadyl, but he'll die because he's unappealing.

On the other hand, Armadyl would probably play smarter. Bandos has strength, but his followers are dumber than a sack of rocks.

The balance league mostly converted into the godless when Guthix died.

I kind of imagined that in WE1 and now in 2, both gods are more or less equal.

Saradomin and Zamorak WERE true equals at BOL. The tide only turned based on their followers

Now if Armadyl and Bandos are equals... their success will depend on the amount of their followers.. EG us.

Nah, the Godless mostly just want a world where no gods exist at all.

I figured Guthixians would be the godless, since his wish was for the gods to remain banished.

Bandos isn't exactly a bad commander, though. His followers are dumb, but they'll do anything that he says, so their knowledge of strategy doesn't really matter.

I'm just not sure if I'd trust the goblin horde to follow anything more complex than "go here, attack and/or eat everything". Bandos's followers are perfect for him because his main goal is the pure chaos of war, rather than winning or losing.

If he's unappealing to the player base, it's because he was the main villain of a quest series and even the stuff that speaks highly of him makes him unambiguously evil from a human perspective. Apparently, they even wrote him to be unlikeable.

He's up there with Sliske in terms of wanting to watch the world burn. I have to agree that it's bullshit for this to be a popularity contest, but mostly because the gods they chose pretty much leave no room for a fair contest.

So from what MCL said he has an update to how spells work and from what he mentioned it sounds like he might have a pseudo-system similar to the macro system used in WoW for abilities or more particularly for how familiars act and how spells come into play. The one good use I see here is for the weakening spells.

December looks pretty dull to me. Was hoping for a quest; slayer monster could really go both ways depending on time/risk/reward..Black hats? Lol..seemed like they took this idea from OSR. Festive aura could be nice i guess..

Suppose the loyalty points may make the premier club worthwhile..depending on what one can spent them on.

Cautiously optimistic about retro armours...seems to be the only appealing thing this month.

Honestly out of all of the new rares they brought to us I think the black santa will be the most saught after.

Also I feel that the retro armours might only be the bandos, armadyl, ans dragon. Maybe bronze-rune armours as a hat tip to the old folks here.

If the summoning rework isn't disappointing, I'll finally be able to use my 99 summoning obtained after the EOC to its full potential! Ooh, TDs... with a steel titan... mmm...

Steel Titans have never ceased to be useful at Tormented Demons. Their current mechanic(s) and stats can be used and abused for incredibly fast kills. For example, 1 special, with the titan on the east side of the target, even if all hits are 0s, will switch it to praying ranged. One special, if the titan is standing on the west side, again even if all 0s, will make a Tormented Demon pray melee. This can be, and is, easily abused. Of course, these are only a few of the many tricks to a Steel Titan at Tormented Demons.

Edit: One thing that could be fixed with them is their lifepoints. If you get Bandos or a TD to become aggressive to them, the titan will die in 1-2 hits from Bandos and like 5 from a TD.

Does he mind if we help? :P

We'll have to wait for the

Is this for the black santa hat?

it's going to be so aesthetically pleasing, if black mystic looks the way I remember, that is.

We'll have to wait for ol' Zamorak to start stealing Christmas later this month I suppose.

That said, it would be kind of amusing if the Black Santa hat was secretly just the old model of the Black Mystic hat.

Since I'll assume you will be able to claim Bandos/Arma "warpriest" from GWD, I think Arma is gonna be my choice.
I'll just go camp goblins for other stuff

I don't see why they spend so much time making temporary world events when half of the current game content needs life-support. You can't even call Arma vs Bandos a real battle, it's probably two gods standing in front of each other for 6 weeks a in row again. Both followers can vote on the same tactics and it's the amount of followers again that makes the difference. It's just WE1 with 2 different gods and a different way to score points. What a waste of development time...

Apart from the fact we already know there are substantial differences between we1 and we2.

They are moving around in big convoys for one thing, not directly fighting each other.

Then there is the different things to be done - supplying divine energy, defending the convoy, attacking the enemy convoy, building strategic structures around the map.

There's mechanics for map areas to be claimed and lost.

There's a world wide optional pvp element.

The PvP's going to be stupidly 1-sided though... Judging by this poll, if you're on Bandos' side? You're going to die a few times.

When PvP worlds were originally released I actually really wanted a safe version world-wide so that people could use their best gear but fight anywhere. Looks like this may be as close as we get.

At least, I assume it'll be safe. While that could leave room for abuse, I doubt many would participate if it was a drop-all scenario. I seriously doubt they'll have graves for player-on-player deaths either though. How will they differentiate between a player killing another and the victim simply respawning somewhere, or that victim having died as a result of both player and NPC damage in a non-safe area?

I seriously hope the PvP element isn't a one-time opt in/out choice. I want to opt in, but there's no way I'm doing it on day one. Jagex don't exactly have the best track record when it comes to stuff like this.

In terms of which side I'll choose, it'll be the one with the coolest set of armour. I don't like Armadyl or Bandos, so it makes no difference to me which one dies.
