Fastest way to get 30k renown?

Enable PVP and AFK at a building. Just gotta pay a little attention so that you don't get PKed. Shouldn't really be a problem if you went Armadyl. Takes like 30 minutes or less.

Yep.  Another tip is to pick a world with very little players, as once people get their 30k they barely participate and just get back to the rest of RS so all the places are deserted.  I've been 'PvP' the whole event and have almost never been in combat.

I can tank them with a shield but I only sniped 2-3 each time because those pesky asc bows get to me :(

 

just saw a girl ravage 4v1 tanking in ports with asc, so boss ^^

 

or come kill bandos scum in my clanworld w9 usually some small team keeps running around and they won't quit :@

 

What a joke not finding any people, join bandos' side. I've been doing nothing else but meeting new people and killing 'em xD at ALL locations. Falador is most busy though, gl catching up my score.

I just found some divine energy.  I've already reached my renown limit on the day, so I should wait to hand it in until tomorrow, right? I didn't really take part in BoL, so this is the first time I'm attempting to do the world Event.

Convoys are the best way to get metal - killing and filling ideally.

Seems you get a drop from them around 1 in 4 or so and can do so even after you have capped.

Having the parts also seems to help as the drop seems to be a part OR frags so lacking parts can slow you down at first.

 

Also anyone seeking all 8 overrides ~200 frags a day is the magic number to clear it in 6 weeks (obviously you have 2 days to make up for at this point)

8k in 6 weeks works out to 1333.33333333.... frags a week, 200 a day gives ya 1400 a week.

Meh a real snooze fest this is.

There are no NPCs to fight and all I do is punch arma buildings.

Way too spread out, and PVP lol the community always ruins that.

Definitely learnt from their last world event. I just got the Armadyl boots and gloves and decided to switch sides to Bandos so I can begin to get some of that warpriest gear, and you can only reclaim it, which I'm going to assume means you can't own both warpriest sets this time around.

 

You could also get placeholders of the first world events warpriest armour by switching sides and then switching back (but having to buy them back at full renown), again, it's only a reclaim option.

 

Sigh, I'm fed up of not being able to have placeholders for the majority of my bank :( especially when I'm willing to go to extra efforts to get it.

 

I know they stated it in the release article but I was hoping there would be some work arounds, guess I'll have to wait for the event to end to claim the bandos gear from the GWD maybe?

 

Anyway, if you are all wanting the cosmetic over rides, you'll be best off starting on the side you don't want to win/support so that you don't waste a crap ton of renown!

I just noticed that the delay on abilities after switching to other weapons/armour has considerably diminished.

 

i'm now able to switch to a godsword and use smash instantly.

When the game announces "A massive battle between followers of Bandos and Armadyl has broken out in the Wilderness Volcano!" you can head there to get some kills on NPCs which drop overrides and shards.Got Bandos claw and shield overrides and 18 metal fragments.

I think Jagex certainly did renown right; it takes about 30 minutes a day to get full as opposed to last time where it took 1-2 hours to get the full. However, the sacred metal fragments were changed for the worse. They are completely luck based and a lot harder to get this time around.

Hm... Maybe give metal from the same sources as renown? Say, you get 150 metal if you cap from building, so it'll take eight days per override. PvP (actual combat, rather than just camping out with PvP on) could provide more, as could luck-based drops. Four overrides means 32 days to get them all for your side, minimum, so it'll still take most of the run of the event.

yeah I don't understand this one either, you can't really go deeper then Wilderness Volcano... In an event where save-PVP is everywhere :s

Whilst i've had some fun encounters I must admit most of the community is rather obnoxious.

Other then that I taught 3 people about a few FC/CC's for PVP minigames and i've convinced a few to duel me for lulz :), also found someone willing to play Conquest with me and i've even had a clan discuss rated clan wars with us, all in all i'm meeting a lot of cool peeps, shame that some have to ruin it for all.

 

if I used to shittalk like that i'd get smacked in the face, they should wash their mouth with soap!

PvP is really only fun when it's not so overwhelmingly one-sided (whether my side is doing it or not). Even if I get close to winning, they just hop over the border. <_<

 

Kind of making me miss F2P wars. It wasn't so rocket-tag-y. :-P

After buying warpriest boots and gloves from bandos and switching to armadyl, you only have to pay the reclaim cost to get the armadyl boots and gloves.

 

Recalculating the amount of renown based on that revelation, there is now actually a surplus of just under 160k renown over the course of the event.

 

So yes, it's officially possible to get everything now.

ah I just had a 8 v 9 happening and that was actually quite a fierce battle :>. I switch sides all the time depending on who's dominant in the world xD. But yeah I feel your pain :(
