congrats! you're not a mercenary flipflopper like the rest of us dirty scum

anyway, who would even vote for less godless attacks? are they going to increase the group size to ten? adding only one member per vote cycle is pathetic, unless they're going to start adopting some real tactics like booby traps or rocket propelled grenades

I thought something was up when I wasn't capping as fast. Well I got another two days until I am completely done with bandos rewards - other than 2 of the cosmetics.

Well the jist of the units seem to be they dictate the make-up of the convoys and supply the ambushers for spider holes and random spawns.

So I guess ambushers at 0 = no random attacks and no function for spider holes

The others at 0 = empty spaces in convoys leaving them more vunerable

well, lose more than he's losing now

i mean, yeah i guess they'll get more troops at the turn of the week but armadyl could just march right up to bando's tower and kick it over now because there's nobody left to man the posts

they are going to tell us what morale actually does at some point, right

I love it. I'm 196 combat with average gear. 190s and below have the same equipment and probably overall power as me, but crazy damage scaling, to the point where they can pretty much ignore (if not reverse) the combat triangle. 200s are all rich [bleep]s with game-breaking items, and I still have a better chance to take one of them than I do someone 10 levels lower.

I exaggerate slightly but all I can think of right now is how atrocious the balance is even by Jagex's already low standards. It doesn't even make sense in the context of their own tiering system (since 90 is the current cap), unless it's balanced around items that don't exist yet.

It is balanced around items that don't exist yet (easy to see because level 180s get a bonus vs 200s as well, right?). A level 170 with t70 (Barrows, no shield) armour was hitting as high as I was using drygores, and he confirmed that he had a 84:1 kdr because of that >.>. He was a good hybrid, so it wasn't entirely unjustified, but t70, seriously - shields already dominate 1v1 pvp, you shouldn't be able to (almost) equal tetsu/drygores with Karil's/rxb.

Obviously the fact that we put the time and effort into the game to become maxed combat because we foolishly thought that maxed combat would offer us an advantage in said combat was a grave mistake. I guess the pures won in the end.

Personally I don't see why people are getting so mad at the pvp in this event.

Is the balance a little off? Perhaps.

But at the end of the day this is only a temporary event and the buff/nerf effect is only in place because the event quite forcefully puts all levels in the same small locales and they need to give lower level folks a fighting chance to achieve something in the world event pvp instead of it being ruled by the lvl 90 gear folks forcing lower levels to use no pvp and cap slower etc.

The balance isn't 'a little off'. The balance is completely reversed - being maxed combat is a real drawback, not an advantage.

And yes, this is temporary, and yes, lower level folks deserve a fighting chance, but how about letting warband FCs take care of that?

In addition to that, it'd be so easy to make the buffs fair. Just give everybody free equipment, scale it with level and you're done.

It'd have been better if the scaling was done based on offensive-defensive stats rather than just levels. If a level 94 pure with 90 magic and 2 defence is fighting a level 200, the level 200 gets penalised so much that the pure just annihilates him mercilessly.

A much better method would have been to scale the offensive capabilities of each character against one another. This way, the pure wouldn't receive a damage boost that he doesn't need, while his defensive stats could be slightly buffed to not get 2 hit by the level 200. What we have instead is some dumb scenario where the pure gets scaled beyond actually attainable damage dealing capabilities while the level 200's offenses become a muzzled bulldog.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

I've been on Armadyl's side the entire event, but I'd be the first to admit that if Armadyl and Bandos fought directly, Arma would get his thin bird neck snapped... :|

I wondered if anyone's made the Butcher vs the Chicken pun yet ...
