It'll be interesting to see how the multi-stat captains figure in.

I'm thinking it maybe worth it to have atleast one of them, maybe 2

There are no multi stat captains. The best captain configuration will propably be 221 MCS with one of the morale captains with 4xMulti(everyone else 4%). The captains are reasonably common(around 15% i'd say).

 

Anyway, one good thing about the shield is that there are no more annoying triple stat chime only missions. But yeah, the reqs are extremely high all the way round. I sent the exile unlock at 44%.

Then what in your own pictures is Alexander Thorn the 27.5k charms captain with 550 stats across the board with 950 speed if not a multi-stat captain?

A speed captain? duh...

 

so for new captains, upgrade them sooner or later? prioritize them over crew?

If the rate you get them at is one per week then it really doesn't matter. Just get them as you can and start selecting better ones once you have 5.

Those shield crew members look hideous, but that's neither here nor here. Congratulations though, xpx.

 

By the way, is it normal that lately I don't get a random event every day? Since batch 2, I was getting one every day, but this week it's been different.

Anyway, a little more voyage information:

 

Standard distance is 8k, 10k for long. First 2 azure tiers are 70% and 80%. Gossip is 720 azure, same as joint acquisition. Adv azure is 560.

 

Adv missions for azure/8 TG are as follows:

 

560 azure 28.5k single 17.1k duo

8TC 35.625k single 20.48k duo(6-2 split for Architect and Trapper, 6-10 for Chef)

 

Whaler S Assassin C Occulist MC Biologist MS Missionary CS Convict M Trapper MC(CS TG) Chef MS Architect CS

 

Biologist and Chef duo TG gives 10 pearls 30 spice at 40k S req

Assassin and Convict duo TG gives 16 lacquer at 40k C req

Sounds like ports gear might be a bit cheaper from the amount of TG coming in at end game.

Well, not until everyone has max ship/port, because right now, those are basically suicide missions.

 

Also i think you are underestimating a couple of effects. Firstly, the time of those voyages is longer and the successrate lower(max success for 5 TG in single style with merchant used to be 90%, now it will be 78% for 8 TG voyages). Another factor is that we have 2 new trade goods that are worth much less than the average, so even though the expected TG's per hour is up 30%(0.4 vs 0.52), the supply of most of these will stay relatively the same.

 

Also, already managed to lose 573 azure on a 60% success adv azure mission. Atleast i got azure on gossip, this time. Also got a new tier of azure, 240.

What is the max and min time for azure voyages?

Could have been 2nd if i chose to, but i needed a bit more TC for last merchant. But in general, all 3 of us made it within 8 hours of eachother.

First 100k distance in the shield unlocks 240 azure missions, a further 100k starts giving you 360 and 560 azure missions, also. Those 560 azure missions are 40k single stat difficulty, however. Already managed to amass 4.6k azure and get the rudder, so getting resources isn't nearly as difficult in the shield as it was in the loop.

I find it funny how they randomly nerfed terracotta, but not the final region... what was their logic on that??

I mean, they nerfed both, but have a reasonable progression for cotta-to-azure. If you really think about it, the difficulty of the loop is resources while the difficulty of the shield are the high requirements(the absolute endgame max you can get for some missions is 80%- that's it).

After getting everything you want from the Shield, maybe it's best just to return to the 6th region and get 100% trade goods from everything, or am I wrong?

 

I'm think you'd be better off in the final region actually.

Loop Trade good come 6 at a time with works out to 7 with the merchant.

Assuming 100% success ratings that is on average 7 trade goods per voyage.

 

With Shield being 8 basic it works out to 10 with merchant.

Factor in 80% success rate you are talking an average of 8 trade goods per voyage.

As long as you can get trade good voyage success ratings inexcess of 70% the average return is going to be greater (ranging from 7.1-10 trade goods vs a flat rate of 7 for loop)

 

Of course it does depend on those ratings, but even if you only getting 71% for them in pure numerics you are still better off than 100%ing the previous tier.

Actually the rates for pincers, loop and shield with max crew and merchant are 0.46, 0.5 and 0.53 TG/ph assuming 100, 100 and 77% successrate(28k single stat with merchant). Overall, when you factor in partial success and the fact that the voyages themselves are slightly longer, shield still has a slight edge. FotS is also much more useful for shield TG voyages.

 

Another thing to consider is the trader. If the azure-to-TG rate is somewhere in the 300-350 range then some people will still be doing pure azure missions to also amass trade goods.

I already posted about every trade good mission in the thread except for 4/6 duo voyages(not going to reroll adv 1000 times for those, but many of them are based on standard logic for example 16 plate= seafaring solo). Based on that, given that of the normal TG missions only 1/8 is solo and only 3/9 adv single ones are solo, 4 exile is in all likelyhood the best.

 

I managed island unlock yesterday on my second try. Did'nt post because, for those that pay attention, the information we had about shield crew more than a month ago had all been true. So in the same line...

725 is not a multiple of 125, I'm not sure how you got there :P. I think you mean 6 * 125 = 750.

 

On their worst duo mission (m/c), they'll have 900/900 stats plus probably 625/625 from solidarity (captain, merchant, exile, morale and combat basics), putting them at 3050 total stats, 1150 worse than a level 10 basic crew. You do get 2325 speed from that, which may be worth it.

 

On sf/* duo missions, they'll have 900/2900 stats, 3800 + 1250 total, being a good bit (= 850) better than basic crew success-wise, plus that speed.

 

On m or c singles, they'll be horrible of course, having only 900 stats plus 500 from solidarity, 2800 worse than a basic crew member. On sf singles, it's 675 worse.

 

On triples, the best-case scenario, they'll have 900/900/2900 plus 750 each from solidarity, putting them at a nice 4700 + 2250 = 6950 total stats, around 60% higher than a basic crew member.

 

Judges are way stronger in the region they first appear, of course, having much higher base stats and more powerful solidarity. These exiles deserve a little buff in my opinion, mainly in the m/c department, because special crew runs the risk of getting boring at this rate. Wisps are already useless, now exiles are underwhelming, and if there's ever a new region past the Shield, you can bet on two out of three exiles being replaced by 2.7k single-stat base crew.
