karil mmmmmm
After the abomination that is EOC came out, I lost all interest in this game and my account was created pre-2007 as far as I know, I was planning on coming back and it would not allow me to log in to the f2p server. If I subscribed just for one month and canceled my subscription could I go back to playing f2p on runescape 2007 with my stats intact?
Saradomin_Mage
You need to make a brand new account to play on the F2P servers. Additionally, once the two week trial period is over, F2P servers will become temporarily unavailable while Jagex evaluates whether it is worthwhile to have them. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

Jagex can forget it then. I guess I will make an account to help those who wish to keep playing from square one again.
Saradomin_Mage
Well, even if you resubbed on your current account, you'd end up on Tutorial Island, just on the P2P servers. Everyone playing OSRS has started again from Tutorial Island without their stats being carried over. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers. They ruined what I loved and now are making those of us who worked for what we wanted in the game we loved restart. They have the information on our accounts, so what is this all about
Saradomin_Mage
They don't have save files from 2007, so they can't offer you your character as it was back then. Simple as that. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

sa121
It's easier to get stats up high than you'd expect - I've been doing casual play for the past year and a half and I'm nearly equivalent with my RS3 character. Especially when I was a f2p player to begin with leveling tends to be more of a challenge with a maple bow and rune weapons. I would gladly give up my RS3 "stats" for my RS2 stats, when they actually meant something to me.
Powerfrog
I started off really disliking that I couldn't come into ORSR with my very high level RS3 account, and within about 3 days I was extremely pleased they did it. The early game of runescape is one of the most fun parts, especially if you're a higher level player that has already been experiencing the high end of the gameplay for a long time. It's been extremely satisfying leveling up skills that I had previously 99'd, and I know it's going to be a great feeling when I start to surpass my RS3's stats in 2007. I'd say just try it out and you may find yourself not hating it as much as you may think you will.

I was put off from RS 2007 because I couldn't have my old stats, but that makes a lot of sense.
