Minigame update wont come until end of the month sadly.

I wouldn't be surprised if the mini-game updates are spread across the month to give them all play time.

So perhaps warrior guild games are gonna get a vamp this week

This is actually a good idea. Don't mind what I'm going to say next, but it fits jagexs typical behavior. Instead of doing them all in one update they might do them in batches that way select areas get bombarded with player activity. More of a "bang for your buck" technique.

I remember wen jagex released fletching and herblore at once (at least I think thy did). I miss when they used to release huge updates like that.

I'm getting tired of not having any solid content to use. In the last month we've had a 30 minute quest, 2 off weeks, and the citadels where you can't do anything. This whole month is very small improvements. Besides the quest, nothing new is really being added to the game. Maybe the hybrid armour will be a nice update, but I want big skill updates, like the Herblore habitat, not small minigame improvements or graphical updates, which are nice, but shouldn't really be the main update of the week/month.

EDIT: I had forgotten that the Jadinko lair was released about a month ago as well. That was a nice addition, it just slipped my mind as I haven't used it much yet. I want more updates like that.

So, effectively, you're saying "I want more updates like the one released a month ago that I haven't even bothered to use yet"?

Sounds like someone's a bit spoiled.

I'm talking updates that last more than an hour. Jadinko lair, lave flow mine, and livid farm are all updates that actually have content that span a large amount of time. Quests like Salt in the Wound and Deadliest Catch don't give us much "new" content to explore. Graphical updates do not provide any new content that will occupy your time. It is yet to be seen if Citadels will be useful for anything but the rings, which means they too will have been an insignificant update. I'm not asking for a lot, just content that lasts more than 30minutes.

It's not that you're asking for new content, its that you're complaining that content isn't released, and when it is you complain about the lack of upcoming content, without even using newly released content.

The minigame upgrades also seem like they'll breath life back into a lot of old content, from the BTS, it seems like quite a few minigames are going to be overhauled completely as well. There also might be more after-quest content in Darkmeyer like there was with Vyrewatch after Legacy of Seergaze.

Essentially, I just found it strange that you were assuming that there would be no actual longterm content this month as there hasn't been a new area mentioned in the BTS (besides Darkmeyer) and complaining about a lack of recent content when you haven't even tried it out yet. :P

Clan Citadels were a huge update. Just because they aren't "useful" for anything EXP-wise, doesn't mean it wasn't a big update.

What's the use of the citadel? You can't just go into my citadel and have tons of content to explore. You can go into it and chop roots. Creating and initiating battlefields is locked to certain ranks, so a lot of people won't be able to even use that part of the citadels unless others allow them to. So that effectively locks people out of most of the content that comes with the citadel. You can't even skill in the citadels. After tediously grinding your resource cap, the next best thing you can do without anyone else is sit in the meeting hall. The citadels lack any content to keep people inside of them for long.

You totally ignored his point.

Just because they are not useful, doesn't mean they aren't a big update.

It has a lot of content and mechanics in the content as a whole so it is a MASSIVE update; it just lacks anything we as players find hugely useful.

Exactly. It's more of a Weekly D&D when it comes to usefulness. I remember reading that they would be unlocking the Battlefield Editor at lower ranks as well, as right now it's auto-locked for anyone under Admin. Hope that gets implemented this coming week.

And Yes Tim, the graphics of the area are great for video's. :P

And that is a huge problem. Huge "cosmetic" updates are a waste of development time, and therefore of subscription money. I'd rather see an update with half the shiny stuff and double the actual stuff.

It's not like anyone is short of content at the moment anyways.

Not true. If I wasn't short on content, I'd be playing right now. The quests lately have been short and fruitless, the D&Ds are only done weekly/monthly or not worth doing at all. The last skill updates have been nothing but mindless grinding (Livid farm, lava mining).

The last real update we had was the jadinko lair, and before that I can't even remember.

How good content is often dependent on personal opinion and expressing a completely unbiased overview of new content is impossible.

On to a different aspect of this conversation... You probably are part of an entirely different group, one that I am in, that has played the game so long and seen so much (at least, to some, the content that truly matters to our version of fully exploring the game play we desire) that keeping us entertained is near impossible (will the exception of a skill release, but even then our cynical attitudes would probably degrade the real value of it's purpose). I have my cynical moments, but I rarely express them.

There is plenty of content you could do;

http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=tasks.htm

And much more that isn't listed there. Just because you choose not to do content because you're lazy or uninterested, it doesn't mean Runescape doesn't have enough content.

Jagex has apparently regressed to 2005, where every update they release is pointless filler content created solely for the purpose of having an update and their general attitude is "IDGAF."

Just because you don't personally use content (by your choice), it doesn't make it pointless. Everything can't be the best XP/h and Jagex can't please everyone. Below are Jagex's last 20 game updates, all of which have a unique use rather than just being "pointless filler content" as you put it, you are not the only player in Runescape, every update doesn't have to revolve around your wishes.

On another note I am almost tempted to try and write a tip.it article about players who have finished the game in their own perspective and the effect is has on their game play and opinions later on down the road.
