Oh I never noticed the wings... wow! I want the black one!

Also MLP has largely distinct characteristics. Such as the over frilled main and tail as well as the overly large and glossy eyes. Not to mention a more humanistic facial expression (how similar their smile is to a humans).

I actually wouldn't mind seeing these tied into some lore. I mean we have Starlight as a sentient saradominist minion who is a unicorn. I wouldn't be surprised if unicorns and pegusus were part of saradomins converts in the enchanted valley and the avianse homeworld. That's speculation though because no one knows where the two originated from.

So much experience, they had no idea Runescape wasn't created until 2000, and released to the public in 2001.

It said 16 years between them...so e.g. mod infinity could have played for 10 years and mod balance could have played for 6 years.

Sounds like positions for rule enforcement have changed hands, really. I've never believed jagex had a concrete definition on their rules. My take on this is that rules are interpreted dependant on who sits in that seat. So apparently these guys are the new enforcers interpreting the rules.

So what about tablets that have touch screens?

What about holding the button down for a predefined amount of time in order to move the mouse X pixels? Kind of like how mouse keys work out of the box?

Unless they specifically say "press your num pad button X times for however many pixels you want to move the mouse cursor"

Regular mice don't even work like that.

So I have to move the mouse for 1 pixel, stop, move another pixel, stop, repeat etc or I'm breaking the rules?

:uhh:

It's a shame really that anything Unicorn/Horse/Pegasus related is instantly "MLP COPYHURBLEGURBLE!" these days.

While that is likely the primary cause of the lulz we're having now, there's also the niggling fact that there are a lot of people who like MLP on the staff there. So it kind of fuels the fire.

Also people are incredibly leery of a television show that was originally for children that attracts a large amount of perverted grown men.  Unlike furries who hide their fetishes/obsession, they openly display them through merchandising and forum avatars and lingo amongst other ways.  It's scary how conventions for that show are not safe for children.  Even the ones who don't fetishize it are incredibly annoying, putting it into everything it doesn't need to be in.   I know what some people are thinking.  Yes rule 34 exists for everything.  But at least I can take my kid to a pokemon convention.  People don't fetishize the characters nearly as much or at least nearly as openly.

It isn't exactly grasping at straws to see that this update is an attempt to milk the franchise's popularity.

You know it's quite possible that some of those men actually played with the toys when they were little kids.

Not that I did per se, although I can readily admit to having some care bears.

But, I have no desire to relive my early childhood by going to a convention on them.

that's a stupid stance for them to take. People use mousekeys/AHK because some skills like construction are incredibly clunky. They should work on fixing interfaces, not banning programs that make parts of the game playable. As far as they should be concerned, if there's a person actively sitting in front of the computer and all the actions are 1:1 (as it was previously defined, an action is moving the mouse or clicking), that should be a win.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.

I have barbies, My Little Pony figurines, beanie babies, He-Man & GI Joe action figures, and dolls packed in a dusty corner box somewhere in my house. You may very well be right. I don't assume any MLP fan is sexually attracted to the character design, but it really is a hard stereotype to overcome regardless of when they were a fan.

Regardless I'm still cool with pony pets in RuneScape.

I don't have an issue with mouse keys in general. The programs though like AHK where it could automatically go to certain coordinates on the screen though are problematic. The precision that allows for over everyone else just using a mouse is an advantage.

The only instance I'd ever use mousekeys would be dropping a whole inventory of items very quickly, but we have an action bar for that now...

Is it really that hard to click quickly enough that you don't need to use mousekeys though? Note that this is coming from someone who does a lot of PvM, so high APM is pretty much required. :p

The people who were banned for it played 07. I can't really think of any uses for mousekeys/ahk in RS, other than dropping items with a left click option (barbarian fishing).

I can almost say with 100% certainty that when they say things like that are against the rules, they mean something like this is against the rules..

-----

Using X as any single button

1. First X moves mouse to coords A from wherever mouse is currently, over an item

2. Second X right clicks

3. Third X moves mouse to coords B, on top of the "drop" button

4. Fourth X left clicks, dropping item

----

What would NOT be against the rules, would be having X move the mouse in a relative position to where it is currently. So, you could effectively create the same situation above, but it would be context sensitive. If the first step required you to have your mouse on top of the item in the proper location, that is FINE, because it is 1 input = 1 output, regardless of the input

Now if they say that your mouse has to move in an analogue fashion, as if you were moving the mouse on your own, that is 100% BS and can not be enforced without making the use of a touch screen illegal.

Why?

Because unlike a mouse, a touch screen doesn't move from coords 100,100 to 100,105 by going 100,100 100,101 100,102 100,103 100,104 100,105, it goes RIGHT from 100,100 to 100,105

And that is the same thing mousekeys does. It moves the mouse in a predetermined direction for a predetermined distance, from one input.

So unless jagex makes an announcement that "non-analogue methods for moving the mouse, be they software based (mousekeys) or hardware based (touch screens) are against the rules" they really can't say "this is ok, but this is not ok because yolo"... Yes,  it is an unfair advantage, but it is an advantage that those who know about can take advantage of. Buying wealth via bonds is also an unfair advantage if you don't have money to buy them with, you see.

...What happened to "X is against the rules" meaning "X is against the rules"?

well jagex stopped coherently stating what was against the rules....

The ponies seem a bit silly to me. We all know that concept art never looks like the final product so we won't get those big shiny eyes and neon glow it'll just be some particle effects on the horn. I'm a bit worried that some of the Jmods appear to be influencing a bit too much based on what THEY like, not what's best for the community. Potential for bad things if that keeps up. It also looks too much like an April fools... this has BETTER be a guaranteed content poll that needs 75% of the vote to pass!

As for the macroing rules, the wording Jagex have used implies that people can't even use the built in accessability tools anymore as they move more than one pixel at a time. My asumption is that they have just whitelisted the behaviour of the official windows tool. There is a LOT of abuse using AHK and while many people use it legitimately, there are probably equally, if not more, people using it to skirt the rules and depressingly it's the high level and elite players doing it. Why?
