I thought they mentioned that Seren wouldn't be linked to the Elf City any more (FAQ). It'd also be pretty beastly if they had a long fixed time requirement as a prerequisite for a quest.

 

Tbf it could kinda be an optional extra rewards kinda req.

 

Like don't do it = incorporeal Seren spirit

Do do it = Fully functioning Seren who can give you free stoof.

New spellbook teleport = new teleport within the magic spellbook.

 

This definition is necessary as in Runescape a new teleport =/= a new spell all the time

For example the treasure trail telescrolls, new teleport not a spell

The desert amulet teleport, new teleport not a spell.

New fairy rings, new teleport not a spell.

 

'spellbook' is being used an an adjective to describe where the 'new teleport' will be, just like say 'new brown dog' doesn't mean a new brown. It means a new dog that is brown.

It's a probable one yes, but they weren't exactly given a complete list or definite plans just a general idea of that there will be many ways to get there, much like Varrock with a teleport spell and lode stone being definite and the others being probable inclusions (spirit tree, glider etc.)

This sounds really cool, but also kinda annoying. Combining this with auras seems like most efficient training; like woodcutting with lumberjack, then move onto mining with quarrymaster as the light moves around etc.

-Will elf city contain a GE?
They say for it to be successful it needs one and decanter, confirmed. Loadstone might be a few steps from GE.

-Will elf city have a teleport?
There will be a new spellbook teleport, loadstone of course, teletabs that can be tweaked for the elf clans location, gliders, spirit tree, fairy network.

what, trim doesn't take long enough??

We are talking max cape not trimmed completionist. Anyways with that said the milestone markers are meant to be max cape, comp cape then trimmed comp cape... as far as milestone capes go.

My little things are like getting all booster outfits, TH and elsewhere including maxing auras (post-legendary). Weird little stuff like that is interesting... maybe full hybrid sets of getting max dps/tank gear? All t90 weapons (lolsiesmics)

In the BTS we mentioned an upcoming poll asking whether we should make certain holiday items available for Loyalty Points. There have been lots of requests for more information, so I wanted to answer some of the common questions.

 

What items will you be selling?

 

The items we're considering are untradeable seasonal or holiday items, including outfit pieces and possibly other novelty objects. We don't have a limit in mind for how old or young the items should be, but we're adamant about the untradeable requirement which does knock out many of the oldest items.

 

Examples of items under consideration include:

 

Bunny ears (Easter 2003)

 

Eek the spider (Hallowe'en 2009)

 

Santa costume (Christmas 2008)

 

 

If the vote shows that players would like these items we'll start choosing batches of them, starting with the most popular or desirable.

 

Will they look identical to the originals?

 

No. In order to make sure that players can still show off the originals, the new versions will be altered slightly to make them visually different.

 

Can players buy them with Loyalty Points?

 

Yes. The poll is specially whether or not the items should be available for LP, and we have no plans to make them available any other way.

 

Can everyone buy them or does your account have to be a certain age?

 

Everyone will be able to buy these items. With this poll we want to see if there's enough demand from newer players who didn't have the chance to get them the first time.

 

Will the items be tradeable?

 

No, we will choose only untradeable items and the new versions will also be untradeable.

 

How much will they cost?

 

Final prices will be decided after the poll (if that option wins), but I'd imagine that we'd make them relatively expensive out of respect for the prestige of the originals. Not high-tier-aura-expensive, but not title-cheap.

 

Will they be overrides or in-game items?

 

Ideally they'd be overrides, but some items with particular functions (such as Eek) may need to be in-game items again, so it's something we'll look into.

 

If the poll passes when will they go into game?

 

The estimated time for the first batch is late March or sometime in April.

 

Can I win the items on Treasure Hunter or are they only buyable through Solomons?

 

These items will not be available on Treasure Hunter.

 

Why not make them buyable only by accounts that existed during the event?

 

We'd like to offer a chance for newer players to get items they weren't around for originally; don't forget that for some of these items 'newer' includes accounts that are ten years old!

 

Won't reintroducing these discontinued items devalue the existing ones?

 

The new versions will be visually distinct from the originals, and we're confident that this will preserve the prestige of having been there the first time.

 

Why does Jagex hate loyal players so much?

 

There are loyal players on both sides of this debate, and Jagex doesn't hate any of them. The poll puts the decision into the hands of the players.

 

Does it include SoF/TH holiday items?

 

We don't plan to extend this to Squeal of Fortune or Treasure Hunter items.

 

Won't everyone just be selfish and vote for what gets them most?

 

Players are free to make their own decision how they vote.

 

Won't it crash the economy?

 

We're only going to release untradeable new versions of untradeable objects, so there'll be little or no impact on the in-game economy.

I'm kinda torn on this one; what I'd prefer is for the items to be buyable with loyalty points but *only* if your account is old enough to have owned them.

 

But on the other hand I want Bunny Ears and Scythe! I was around from 01 right through but my current account started 24th Dec 2003 so I missed them.

I would imagine them releasing...

 

Dingy santa costume - designed like the same outfit, but with worn or patched spots on the costume. examine: a well worn santa outfit ready to retire.

 

Eek the spider - designed like the last, but eek brought his treat bag with him. examine: it looks like the trick brought the treat!

 

Floppy bunny ears - designed much like the original bunny ears, but one ear just can't seem to stay up. Examine: not quite as much of a flop as you might have thought.

 

Rusty hollowe'en scythe - designed the same as the original scythe, but with a rusty blodd splattered blade. examine: its clearly past its reaping days.
