Not a long time ago. For the longest time "lizard men" were dragonkin

No they weren't, other than theories of people who quite happily ignored jagex telling us Dragonkin were not the lizardmen referenced in the fabled list of coming updates from eons ago.

Jagex have very clearly said many times dragonkin were not lizard men, hence people continued asking of when the lizard men will finally come and why a month or 2 back osbourne finally said lizard men would be making their appearence in runescape this year.

I can't recall any time between the 2004/5 primer that mentioned lizard men, and a few months ago when Osbourne said kin=lizardmen, that Jagex said dragonkin weren't lizardmen

^ Try all the times when asked about that primer they said there were plans and ideas for the lizard men and they would come eventually, thereby indirectly saying dragonkin, which already existed in-game, were NOT the lizard men. Because something can't be only plans and ideas and 'coming eventually' when it has already arrived in-game.

Also the talk about their true name and the fact they are more vulture-like than anything; again conforming to the distinctly not lizard men box and the fact up until their most recent graphics they even looked distinct vulture-like and not at all reptilian.

Yup the sects being those who give in to the rage caused by the stone of Jas usage and the more cerebral who control themselves and work to try and free their race from the stone. The former being the 3 we have seen in cutscenes and quests thus far, the later being the guy who created the QBD, the guy who made the KBD and others involved in the breeding/research that produced all the dragons; one of them is supposed to be on fossil island as well.

And somehow Strisath is so dumb again to get caught and put in to his cage...

Rage makes people stupid it seems. :P

if he were smart enough to escape, he wouldn't have been caught that easily to begin with

One of the many reasons why I believe Sliske made a temporary alliance with the dragonkin to take down the false users. He could benefit in any number of ways from such a pact so it's easy to imagine he'd do it.

Hardly surprising people don't remember them mentioning Lizardmen. It was in a post made before I even started playing, so pre-2003.

Dragonkin Idea/Termonology never existed in RSC let alone the first 2 years of RS.

I do believe that the first mention of dragonkin was in A Tail of Two Cats, back in 2005

They're planning on releasing 120 capes now. NOTHING different from the 99 capes, except probably a particle trail.

Oh and they're new fancy capes. While the old 99 capes still look like someone spilt starch over them and let it dry for a year and no plans to clean them up. (Which tbh is a joke, if you have a 99 you at least deserve the update too)

Sliske wasn't part of the false users proving he doesn't have the stone? maybe. Or that he has not used it.

I don't think that proves anything.

We have used the stone, Guthix has used the stone, That random fremminik from cutscenes in WGS used to stone, people in Kethsi used the stone - its hardly a full roster of who has and has not used that stone that appeared in the battle.

But what if it were based on recent torments? We are currently there so that doesn't matter to much. We are already a torment to it.

That's a possibility, but I'd hardly call it proof. I mean we don't fully known the history of the Stone, we know it changed hands several times during the godwars between Zamorak using it to ascend at the start and Saradomin using it to heal people mid-war and Guthix using it to end the fight.

Equally I wouldn't exactly call Zamorak or Saradomin 'recent' torments their last use of the stone is between 2169 and 6169 years ago - since the 5th age was 169 years and the 4th age was ~2000 and the 3rd age was ~4000

A factor that would offer a counter is it took 3 dragonkin to kill Lucien and he hadn't even ascended, whilst 1 dragonkin was enough to pose a serious threat (serious enough that they all fled pretty quick) to the gods at Sliske's little party, which could infer they'd gained more strength which would in turn mean more stone usage between the events of rotm and then.

I don't think it took three dragonkin to kill Lucien, there just happened to be three of them at the time of his death, because he summoned them all by using the Stone out in the open. Also I don't think that the gods know exactly how powerful a dragonkin actually is. When they fled, it was more out of a 'let's not try this out at this place and time, where basically every being capable of challenging my strength is ready to stab me if I stumble' kind of mindset. If all the gods there would not be sufficient to at least bind a dragonkin, I do not think that Sliske would be able to build a cage to hold one, even with his shadow powers - surely having an elder artifact counts as a similar bonus, or, for that matter, being a cabbage.

My guess is still that they've had to put a lot of money towards launching transformers. A whole dev team to work on a new game from scratch can't be cheap and they really only have their money from runescape to fund that.

what's the name of that other website... funorb? you're telling me they make no money from it??

Doubt they make much from funorb anymore. They probably make some but I'd think they'd still be advertising it and releasing more games for it if it was that successful
