Do you have any idea how inefficient that is?

Kind of random, but the new God Descriptions from Jagex's social media God-a-Thon seems to be revealing some new tidbits of information about the gods and their past/future intentions that are interesting.

Notably, the idea that Bandos is potentially much less barbaric than we thought he is, and simply puts on that as a disguise to help further his cause.

Also, apparently Zamorak actually locked himself in the portal at the bottom of Daemonheim, and wasn't simply forced out of the plane and found a new way in. I'm guessing only a God's power can attune the Rift to Frenskae in such a direct way. (Or did Zamorak himself create fhe Rift?) I guess this makes the Well of Voyage efforts and similar past plans by his followers a sort of wild goose chase caused by how quickly he had to leave our plane. :P

Tell me whichever god Mod Moltare is following and that's the one I'll pick.

The more we learn about how 'effective' the edicts were the more I doubt Guthix.

His edicts that 'banished' gods from the world:

Zaros already left to save his spirit and managed to directly commune prior to guthix's demise.

Zamorak wandered down to Daemonheim and secluded himself just outside the world - seems like he had time to do this rather than an immediate booting out.

Armadyl had already left at the sorrow of his aviansies being dead.

Seren chose to explode herself instead of leave

Tumeken went to sleep rather than leaving.

Demi-gods and 'Factions of gods' were never blocked at all.

So basically he kicked out Sara and Bandos and that's about it. Everyone else left on their own or just stayed put.

Maybe the Edicts are more the part that prevents them from returning, rather than banishing. Or it could be that the Edicts are an alarm system hooked up to Guthix - do not enter unless you want to face Sleepy Angry Butterfly Dude (who has more ancient artefacts than you ever had).

It was only by chance that Zaros fell onto Zamorak and thus the Staff of Armadyl cut through both of them.

That makes it sound like Zaros tripped on a rock while laughing maniacally and stabbed himself... #-o

Sometime on the 11th the black portal in the lumbridge forest grew larger. Also a Druid, black knight and monk came up as different on-lookers to the event. I think the portal color has some correlation to who is coming, but who is pretty vague. Gods such as bandos, Zamorak and even Zaros could carry the color black.

So basically we're going to decide which God will be next to return through the portal.

Saradomin's already back, Zaros isn't represented by an NPC so I doubt he's an option, so it'll either be Bandos or Zamorak.

You'd presume that if Zaros was to be one of these to return, Azzanadra (sp?) would be at the forefront of any attempt.

Aren't black knights Zamorakian? Would be good to see him return and stick it to Saradomin.

Can't be Zamorak recent lore 100% confirms he is 'just outside' Gielinor via the rift at the bottom of Daemonheim.

As portals go I'd say it seems rather Sliskian - Black for the shadow realm, edge has some purple flares as Shadow realm relates to Zaros, as does Sliske. Edges also flare green, Sliske stole Guthixian pwoer.

But equally as it is a prelude to the Battle for Lumbridge, Bandos makes an obvious choice as a god directly desiring battle and war. Or it could just be a generic godly power leak, like Divination is based off, due to Saradomin being about and Guthic power leaking and Tumeken and Seren power possible emerging as they reawaken a bit.

So basically he kicked out Sara and Bandos and that's about it. Everyone else left on their own or just stayed put.

The Edicts were more of a "don't mess with stuff" than a "go away." There was an alarm system built in. If gods returned and tipped the balance, then the Guardians were to reawaken Guthix who would "erase" Gielinor.

Although tbh it seems they've done away with the whole punishment for violating the Edicts. I can't believe someone that planned to wiped the world clear if gods interfered would let himself die, knowing it would cause gods to return.

Let's all be honest. Jagex wanted to get rid of the Edicts as soon as they could. They were preventing prime content.

Erm....No.

From all the lore we have the Edicts were two things:

1) An active banishment of the gods

2) A barrier that forcefully kept them out.

The concept of an alarm system, guardians set to reawaken guthix and guthix erasing the world are all things you have made up. We don't even know if Guthix CAN erase the world since Elder Gods made it and they far exceed him. The Alarm system seen in TWW is an alarm on his resting place, nothing to do with the edicts. Also the idea the Guardians would awaken him seem stretched in that even in the heat of battle in TWW they were doing everything they could to STOP him being woken.

Nothing shows that Sliske stole Guthix's power, like Zamorak stole Zaro's

Zamorak and Zaros were both physically connected to the staff. Sliske just shot Guthix with its power.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

True but I was going for the simplistic quick explanation, there is a Guthix:Sliske link that would explain the green, whether or not he stole power is up in the air and could go either way.

I doubt the colour of the portal is an indication of anything. Like I said before, the result of the battle will most likely decide what comes out of the portal.

And Guthix only stabbed Tuska Skagaroth (E: Derrrrrrp thanks helring), he wasn't impaled upon it with him. The Elder Weapon seems just to be the conduit for siphoning power. We've got confirmation that he wasn't a god after TWW through a Q&A but that doesn't mean he couldn't have siphoned a bit of power briefly.

Honestly I think we have two outcomes:

1) This becoming the reemergence of Zamorak into the surface. This would be a somewhat flop to the dungeoneering finale. I would have suspected to see something like zamorakian forces spewing out of daemonhiem.

Or...

2) Sliske returning from a jaunt to other planes if existence. This event would tie in nicely with what other gods have typically done after ascension.

Bandos is still an option, but just not at all ideal. I mean seeing him rip through the portal and all those goblins in the area rushing to him and climbing into him would be cool... But it just doesn't seem like it would be him.
