Unknown_Warrior
I keep hearing that QBD ranged is both safer and faster than melee, with average times hovering around the 1:50. But I can't seem to get it, my ranged kills are consistently lower, and use more resources, than my melee kills. 2:15 nominal range kills compared to 2:00 nominal melee kills. This is my equipment: Universal: Full slayer helmet (I'm on task), Completionist cape, Ring of Vigour, Barrows gloves, Penance aura Melee: Torva plate, Torva legs, Drygore maces set, Steadfast boots, Scrimshaw of Vampyrism, Brawler's knockout necklace Range: Pernix top, Pernix bottom, Ascension crossbow + Offhand chaotic crossbow, 1000 dragonbane bolts, Glaiven boots, Scrimshaw of Cruelty, Farsight sniper necklace What am I doing so wrong? Dragon Drops : 5 Dragon Medium Helmets, 3 Dragon Claws, 3 Dragon platelegs, 2 Dragon plateskirts, 2 Dragon Hatchets, 2 Dragon Spears, 7 pairs of Dragon Boots, 1 Dragon pickaxe, 10 Dragon defenders, 3 Dragon 2h swords, 1 Dragon armour Slice, 1 Dragon armour Lump, 1 Dragon chainbody, 1 Dragon kiteshield, 1 Dragon hasta, 1 Dragon ward, 25 Dragon knives pairsThe Warrior's Blog , Herblore Habitat - Efficient and profitable[hide=Stats and logs].:Adventurer's Log:.[/hide]
tgf
Melee is faster at max efficiency. For melee, zerk when phase1 is at 70% For range, death swift at start of phase1 Use ur tendril abilities. The melee one is op af. Sharpshooter aura id you have it Dragon slayer gloves for melee if you have them. Offhand ascension.
Levells
Offhand death Lotus Darts would be better than a crossbow. I tested that myself. I'm not sure where the limit is though, for all I know Blisterwood could be a better offhand as well. Take advantage of your distance and use frag, ricochet, snapshot, and bombard to your advantage when tagging the other pillars. When I use swiftness is somewhat negligible, imo. First phase is fine but I like using it slightly into p2, and then running back to use another threshold for p3. No matter what style, take advantage of using freedom/anti while running. Provoke would also work but in limited range. I've never been on task, fastest range kill is 1:43 with most hovering on the 1:50-2 range. Still not using full pernix yet. I've a mix of pernix, dl, and Arma. Don't be afraid to use tendrils with range either, it hurts but I find I still make up for it just fine. It makes up a large portion of damage, even if you can only use it 1-2 times per kill.
krimi
What is your routine? I am getting ~2:15 with dual ccbows off task. I don't bother dodging the fire wall, just pump out damage to get to the next phase as soon as possible. Keep a note to have needle strike ready when you are about to use a threshold or an ultimate. Needle shot->Rapid fire->Needle shot->Snap shot does a lot of damage very quickly. You can knock down a whole phase with Unload if you get lucky rolls. Use an arenaline potion if you need a threshold for a knockout punch.
