Willows vs maples - settling it once and for all...

So I'd like to settle the ancient issue once and for all, purely interested in cut and drop logs, not money or anything fancy.  I'm pretty convinced that it's willows but some of my friends are adamant that it is otherwise.

I've done willows for an hour and got roughly 49K experience (including urns) for 49 minutes, which translates to 60K/hr (1k/minute, how convenient!).  Unfortunately I don't have and can't easily get access to cutting maples in F2P, so would someone care to test out maples for a bit and see exactly how it compares?

You can bring 10 (normal) urns and time how long it takes to fill them up, which will be roughly the same xp.  Make sure it's on F2P if you have a dragon hatchet, as that probably provides some bonus too.  Thanks in advance!

If you head to the Daemonheim, the southern penninsula has a resouce dungeon that includes willows and maples.. I'm not exactly sure what level is needed, but I'm 85% sure that it has (mostly) F2P Access.

Yes, I know where it is, but nonetheless I can't get in there and I don't have another account with comparable woodcutting level.  I'd rather not get into the details :P

It's been settled for years. Maples have never been better xp than willows. It's not remotely close, either, they're like a full 20% slower or something like that. I can only assume your friends have never chopped either tree, and drew their conclusion based solely on the respective xp values per log.

They have chopped maples.  I'll have to try and convince them to time one hour for themselves I guess >.<.

Don't bother trying. Some people don't want to be convinced, and never will. They'd prefer to be stupid on purpose, rather than accept an alternate to what they think.
