Question: do supreme overloads boost you again every 15 seconds like normal overloads. Or are they just a 16%+4 initial boost that slowly drops?   I.e. can they be used with sara brews?

I'd assume they give the boost every 15 seconds like a normal overload. If they didn't then they'd be rather...well...terrible

Yes they do but IMO they aren't worth it.

Are they not cheaper/very close in value as you only need to add supers to get 2 more doses of overload. (I've not done any calcs yet)

The most enjoyable part of this update for me has been all the ex-comps (not to be confused with ex-cons, obviously) complaining about all the new requirements. Meanwhile, i've been able to acquire many of those reqs just trough normal gameplay, just doing what i enjoy doing in scape. At 5 recipes right now, including both level 99 pots unlocked. Only thing i haven't really liked about the update is the level 95 recourse dungeon as the divine locations are on the same limit as normal(although they talked about them not being).

Part of the reason why I never even considered pursuing a comp cape is because I know that the constant weight on my shoulders of knowing that I'm going to have to participate in tedious activities which I don't find fun, for the rest of my RS career in order to hold onto the cape, seemed pretty silly. It's one of those things that so many people spend their whole lives trying to get... only to curse it when they finally have it. Like wedding rings

Found all the stupid Imps, now time for those recipes. Oh boy.

They are complaining as they should. Jagex has very deceptively made the Comp Cape into the Trim Cape. It used to be the case that Comp had a few small requirements while Trim had the heavy stuff, the long stuff, and the RNG stuff. This is not what Compers signed on for, and these are not the expectations that were set. So yes, it's stupid.

How the [bleep] does 200 Agility laps or picking 200 moss seem important enough to be required for Comp cape?

I'm really glad you're enjoying yourself. In fact, why don't we just merge comp cape with trimmed comp, so you can enjoy even more arbitrary nonsense. And what the hell, let's add picking 100m cabbages to the list, too. You obviously haven't completed runescape until you've done that :^)

They should of had just one completionist cape.

The I-beat-every-aspect-of-the game-because-I-have-no-life cape.

And it is only a cosmetic upgrade over the max cape.

Instead they got all crazy with this crap and have 2 versions which are both better than the max cape...

For those [bleep]ing now just wait for the spock city task list update to keep your taskmaster emote.

It's going to be precious, trust me.

Are they not cheaper/very close in value as you only need to add supers to get 2 more doses of overload. (I've not done any calcs yet)

In some edge cases even though the potions are more expensive you need to use fewer doses which saves you money, because the supreme overloads have a 6 minute timer.

The main example which comes to mind is mage araxxor path 1.  For those that don't know, the mage spider applies a debuff which drains overloads more quickly.  What this means is that even though my kills on path 1 are typically around 8:30, I usually have to take a third sip of overload.  Then, the rest of that potion is wasted while banking.  With the supreme pots it's doable to do a kill, even with poor RNG, in 2 doses of supreme ovl.

Another good example is nex duos.  I haven't duoed nex in a long time, but the last time I did, my kills usually were just a bit over 1 overload dose long.

best drops (reasonably accurate/up to date): 1x Elysian Sigil (LS), 1x Arcane Sigil (cs), 4x Armadyl Hilt (solo at 100m, 100m, 50m, and 5m), 2x Saradomin Hilt (solo at 25m), 5x Draconic Visage (34m,1.2m,1.2m) and various cs/ls/ffa Nex splits.
Drygore Drops: 7 Longswords, 3 Maces, 3 Rapiers, 3 Off-hand Rapiers,  5 Off-hand Maces, 3 Off-hand Longswords

ROTS Shields: 12  Seismics: 16

Ascension Crossbows: 6  Spider Legs: 10

Countless Armadyl armour pieces, Saradomin amulets, Dragon Hatchets, and Fremenik Rings.

As for the comp drama, if it's too much of a hassle to get it and you don't enjoy the process, then why even try? Isn't that what the maw is for, also? Nobody is forcing you to do 200 laps of agility in 3 hours but yourself. There is no signed agreement as to what defines a normal comp and trimmed comp cape, anyway. Alot of the requirements bestowed upon by this batch can be gotten leisurely over time, which, to me, is a good thing. The same also applied to batch one req's where i managed to complete them with normal gameplay.

well f me

does anyone know if it is better gp/xp to make overloads into supreme overloads than to make overloads from scratch?  Because if so that would still be a reason to make them.

Tip for those getting 200 harmonic moss: drink a perfect juju farming or perfect plus potion!

It has a chance to triple yield of anything farming-related, including moss, so you can potentially get 15 moss from a pillar. :)

Also, consistent yak (solo/team) and perfect juju herblore are also invaluable for finding the hidden recipes. If you find a friend with consistent yak (team), get him/her to get 3 more people to start a 5-man dg and collect your guaranteed 5 recipes in 1 floor.

No one is complaining about the 200 lap requirement, but rather the various RNG ones. Also, the MAW is a nice little bonus but far from a solution. As for there being no 'signed agreement', there has been an implicit understanding and tradition that Comp is supposed to be lightweight stuff and Trim is the heavy stuff, a fairly clear tradition - that's what was broken, and it was a pretty scumbag thing for Jagex to do.

So more on my Impling adventures:

- A friend ended up getting a Kingly on the same world in Puro Puro (I didn't see it, it spawned just as he was going to log out).

-I sent my noob in Puro Puro while I AFK'ed Crystal Trees with Tree-Shaking (again, those scrimshaws are a total scam, they don't get you any of the good Implings, they only get you the common ones that are easily found in Puro Puro)).

-My noob finds a Kingly Impling, binds it, I am almost there on my main, but someone else gets there and snipes it (though he gave me the Jar, but still). So back to Crystals.

-Then I find a Dragon Impling on noob in Puro and bind it for a few mins (as I prepare to log off on noob so I can log in main), and as I am getting there on my Main and my noob finally logs out, someone else is there (though no Butterfly Net, he seemed to be holding the Dragon impling I found for someone else). I get there and manage to catch it, to the lament of that tresspasser (and his friend).

Seriously, I wish serious misfortune upon the J-Mod who thought this was a good idea.

I've found tree shaker more than adequate.

I've used 3/4 of 1 tree shaker and I got Dragon, Kingly plus several Ninja, Magpie and Zombies implings amongst others.

Overall it's been a fairly painless and easy experience to collect the implings, granted I'm missing crystal but I'm confident tree-shaker in Crwys vos will see to that soon and failing that I can world hop the new dg spawn point until I find one.

I also don't quite follow where people are getting this RNG complaint from.

I mean the new reqs are:

You must aid Lord Amlodd in cleansing shadow cores. Cleanse 15 of each type of core.

Only very minor RNG since the drops of cores are pretty common.

You must help Lady Ithell with crystal singing research.

No real RNG here just get Eluned to make the items and hand em over.

You must start helping Lady Meilyr to retrieve her lost potion recipes.

Minor bit of RNG here in getting the recipe BUT with the spawn rate of recipes directly tied to your herb and dg levels with a big boost for being max they aren't that hard to come by.

You must collect one of each impling for Daffyd in Prifddinas.

Fairly easy between dg dung spawns, treeshaker and puropuro

You must unlock all of the combination potion recipes from Clan Meilyr in Prifddinas.

Bit more RNG than the help lady meilyr, but again same scaling rarity means its not too bad - the 20m price tag is the worse part imo.

You must earn the title 'of the Amlodd' (Speak to Lord Amlodd while enlightened by a light creature familiar).

Straight forward

You must earn the title 'of the Hefin' (Complete 200 laps of the Prifddinas agility course).

Straight forward

You must earn the title 'of the Ithell' (Create 100 Crystal flasks).

Straight forward - done in 2 days max.

You must earn the title 'of the Meilyr' (Harvest 200 Harmony moss).

Can be annoying if your pillars are sucky ones but straight forward enough, especially since no disease.

You must find all eight journal pages from the Hefin Agility Course in Prifddinas.

You get 1 journal every 25 laps so pretty easy since you gotta do 200 anyway.

Collect all the memoriam crystals.

The one for doing the emote is a bit of a pain atm, but they seem to be addressing the rarity issue so I don't see this as a big deal since the other 15 are all easy to get.

So yeah.... All RNG based? try none RNG based. Getting all potion recipes is the most RNG based and can easily gotten with normal gameplay, even if you don't consider the maw (i've got 3 recipes from the maw) or consistent yak, which make is extremely easy to get. Implings were a given and everyone knew about it for a long time. It's your fault for trying to do this during rush-hour. All-in-all, for people that will comp in the future, these new requirements won't really make the cape any harder to get. It's just the old compers who are whining because their candy was taken away.

Quick couple notes to people interested in farming monoliths:

- Citadel skilling DOES work with them.

- Amulets of nature work with monoliths allowing you to check how much xp you need to the next growth. The problem is you can only have one amulet at a time.

If all recipes can be gotten from DGing normally from 1-120, why the [bleep] bother adding it as a req in the first place? From that perspective, it seems to me it was added specifically to piss off old compers.

Unlocking all herblore potion recipes is as much of a completionist deed as unlocking all magic spells, including those from an angry agricultural association.

Sy, I assume you haven't tried to get the recipes yet. People have been dunging a lot in an attempt to get these recipes a all day and only obtained 1 or none.
