New returning player advice

Hey there! I'm just starting out after stopping when EOC rise came out. I'm playing OSRS and decided to start again on RS3. So far, I'm just trying to get 40 in most of my stats and get quests done. I am planning on doing quests for 40 attack, strength and defense.

So I'm basically wanting any suggestions on things I should try and unlock ASAP, what I should save up for, and what I should focus on the most for the upcoming double exp weekend (don't mention summoning, since I don't have any charms at all).

Thanks!

Welcome to TIF! :)

Completing quests and such is probably a good start. You can also take advantage of things like Divine Locations once your skills are a little bit higher. If you need a way to make some cash, a tedious but effective way to do it might be Egg Spawn, which needs 9 Summoning. Otherwise you probably want to level up combat more and kill monsters for money.

In terms of double xp weekend, hmm, not sure. I guess something buyable but not too expensive might be best to boost. I assume you don't have too much money? You could transfer money from OSRS to RS3 could be a possibility if you have more cash there, but be sure to be wary of scams and such.

Money isn't an issue, I transferred gold and items from my RS3 account that is being used for my OSRS, so I have about a 50m cash stack right now, with a misc amount of glories, dueling rings, ring of wealths, a cannon, some cballs, steel knives and A LOT of runes.

I'm currently:

44 Attack, 31 Strength, 24 Defence, 38 Range, 11 Prayer, 28 Mage, 9 RC, 1 Con, 15 Dung

27 HP, 35 Agility, 3 herb, 30 theiving, 31 crafting, 1 fletch, 3 slayer, 1 hunter, 5 divination

36 mining 30 smithing 7 fishing 12 cooking 38 FM 41 WC 6 Farming and 15 Summ

Major quests:

Demon Slayer, Dwarf Cannon, Fight Arena, Grand Tree, Lost City, Restless Ghost, Tree Gnome, Waterfall. MM is started up to the the puzzle (did the puzzle just for shits and giggles).

Any key quests you suggest? And again on the skills i should go for ?

I suggest getting Fairy Tale Part 1 and 2 done so you can use fairy rings (they've helped me endlessly). In terms of dxp weekend, maybe do something like Herblore or Summoning if you value money, or agility if you want to save time.

Oh yeah! I need to get Priest in Peril, Nature Spirit, Fairy Tale 1, and then can I just start Part 2 to unlock fairy rings? Or do i need to finish it ?

And hmm, I might just do agility and then never ever ever do it again lmao

Thanks guys :)

btw gear wise: what should I use for training from 40's - 70/80's. I'm looking at it all and I'm confused as [bleep] honestly. Like are knives still good options for range training or what should I use instead.

And same for melee, is the pre eoc meta of D scimy / defender or zammy book obselete?

You only need to start it to unlock Fairy Rings.

Basically Rune will cut it to 70, after that use GWD armours to 80. This is due Dragon still being quite expensive. For weapons, Rune => Dragon => Whip/Dbow would work fine. Just dual wield both, note that the Whip has no OH equivalent.

Awh sweet, and I take it Bandos - Melee, Armadyl - Range. Then mystic set for - mage.

And is the combat system heavily reliant on combat style strengths and weaknesses? Like if a mob is strong against melee, will there be a noticeable change in damage? Sorry, EOC is still soo confusing, like OSRS is my shit however I'm against using legacy, I'm forcing myself to learn the combat mechanics of RS3. haha

Actually, Subjugation would be the equivalent in that set (level 70 magic power armour) :). Mystic is just level 30 armour if I'm not mistaken.

There will be substantial differences in accuracy for using the wrong class until you get to much higher levels. When you have tier 90 weapons you can throw back your head and laugh at most of them but for now it may be wise to choose combat classes wisely ;).

You need 70 Magic and 70 Defense to wear Subjugation. More info on RuneScape Wiki. You can probably hold off on prayer for a while (from my experience)...
