Most Useful Familiars?

Hey everyone!

 

I recently rebuilt my bank, and I'm severely lacking in summoning familiars. I've been getting a list together of the ones I think would be most useful, and I'd like to get your opinions as well. I should not the list is based on my Summoning level (90 atm). Here's what I have so far: 

 

-Light Creature - Divination Boost

-Unicorn Stallion - Healing

-Rune Minotaur - Combat

-Lava Titan - +10 Firemaking & Mining

-Nightmare Muspah - Divination Boost

-Hydra - Regrown Farming trees

-Giant Ent - Improved harvests

-Granite Lobster - +4 Fishing

-Arctic Bear - +7 Hunter

-War Tortoise - BoB

 

Past that, I'm not sure what else I should have. I purposefully left out a lot of combat familiars as I'm not sure which is best for each style (I thought maybe Nihil, but gathering their ingredients is a pain). I also left out the Spirit-hunting creatures as I'm not sure which of the three is more useful. They also released a new Phoenix familiar last week, and I'm not sure what its name is. But it seems really useful as well. I'll add it if anyone knows.

I think you pretty much nailed it. Outside of nihils and steel titans (the latter of which are of course 99 Summoning) offensive combat familiars don't really help much. I believe the phoenix familiar you mentioned is the reborn phoenix. It doesn't mention what exactly the chance of burning 2x logs on a bonfire is, but I suppose it could come in handy if that's your thing.

The only thing I'd say it its debatable whether Light Creature or Nightmare Muspah is more use when doing div.

 

Occasional instant covert memory vs 3% more chance of enriched memory and 32 more gathers between deposits.

Pking- maybe an abyssal Titan if you're in a group(hits opponents for prayer points instead of hp)

Bunyip-less healing than uni but afk combat training he's great

 

I haven't stated one of my favourite combat familiars, but that's cuz it's a bit op and uncommonly used. It requires a bit less than lv99 summon and yet hits decently. It's attacks are also unique.

I questioned if Muspah was better than Light Creature, and I feel that Muspah is probably better. But Muspah supplies are super frustrating for me to gather, and Light Creatures are easy. :D I've got about 50 Bunyip pouches as well. I don't have much experience with Uni, so I just assumed Uni was better in most/all situations. I'll have to keep the Bunyips around.

On muspah vs nihil, I prefer muspah's because they make the actual amount of effort put into divination much less. Light creatures require much more clicking. I don't think unicorns are really good anywhere now, because they cut into adrenaline, but I guess if you are somehow using food but not using a BoB, then it would be good.

Thanks wioneo! I do feel like Muspah are a better option over Light Creatures. I'll have to go back to Fren and try killing Muspahs again. I had a lot of trouble a few months ago, but I've got t85 weapons and armor now. Might stand a better chance. :)

 

I didn't know Unis cut into Adrenaline. I'll have to check that out as well.

Muspah are fairly easy to kill.

 

Shard of Zaros stops them being aggro. Ancient magic wrips them a new one.
