I'm down and I'm okay with it, though technically they aren't mini games. No mini games are quest unlocked exactly. :p

Yea, sorry about that, tend to combine D&Ds and Minigames in my mind since they were for a long time just called "activities" by Jagex, so I tend to forget which is which, and yea we didn't include Livid because it was completely unmentioned in any quest (except for Pauline being locked up in Dimension of Disaster, but so was Meg and she isn't a quest npc either).

Actually I was saying the cape should be for Questers and not have RNG, bossing, or mini game requirements.

The requirements should be incidentals, not completionist activities. It should be things that people already would do or have done, not Livid Farm or 4,000 chompy kills.

A lot of this. If anything, halve or quarter the amount of livid required/chompy kills needed.

Unlocking the first spell at Livid Farm might be fair, but it depends on how much of a learning curve it has, to be honest. If it takes hours just to learn to do it effectively it's not going to be fun for people to have that experience regardless <_>

It takes 5 minutes to learn what to do, as it has 5 cycles of each 1 minute that repeats constantly. These set of cycles are identical as well. so if you've done the first 5, you've done all possible different cycles ;D!

I am fine with most stuff, except that I wouldn't really like bossing to be part of it, I see bossing (or PvM as it is called?) as something totally different than questing. The same as some say minigames/D&D's are different from questing (even if they are unlocked by quests). Though honestly I would be glad with most stuff if that would mean we actually get the cape.

Wouldn't it be a nice idea to have a master quest cape, master PvM cape, master minigames cape etc.? :P And then one cape to rule them all.

The list is really really good, I'd rather a bunch of requirements since it helps set goals. Not a fan of the Kiln requirement though. 1 kill would be fine but 3 using different styles is a little too bossing-oriented for me. And it just unlocks a cosmetic override without adding any lore or appreciably adding anything to your character.

Don't you get it? A cosmetic override adds more value to your character than unlockable spells.

you see I was going to go to med school and become a psychiatrist, and from the classes I took over the last 2 years make me think you're quite the... interesting person

as for these reqs, I can kinda see why some bossing might be involved. In WGS you had to deal with all of the generals from GWD as well as others from other portions of the game. The books aren't incredibly hard to come by from my experience either. But this cape screams 90+ all to me which I'm not in favor of as mentioned previously. I feel it really separates people interested in quests from people that have better skills, not that those 2 don't share many of the same people... Do you guys see what I'm trying to stab at here? Or am I trying to eat pudding in the dark with a fork?

No one ever said the livid spells were worthless. But Livid had nothing at all to do with Questing. It was just a minigame that happened to be in a quest locked area, like Trouble Brewing is. Kiln however, was introduced in a Quest, and is a post-quest activity. Its not about what is useful, Kiln is tied to Quests and Livid wasn't. Its not about whats useful but defining what things are linked to quests and what ones aren't.

Yea, Dishonour Among Thieves and Broken home both have postquest rewards that require all skills at 90+ to unlock the chests. So the cape will require at least all 90's, although depending where it settles that may not be the highest skills.

Livid's linked to quests unless you believe the Lunar spellbook has absolutely nothing to do with quests. You get the spellbook with Lunar Diplomacy, you get an extension with Dream Mentor, and you fill the rest of the slots on the farm. Even Pauline is in Lunar Diplomacy, you get the cape from her.

Trouble Brewing has no unlockables. It's not even remotely related to Cabin Fever. Livid is linked by the spellbook, and the characters who were introduced in Lunar Diplomacy, Lokar and Pauline, who are running this farm after the incidents of Lunar Diplomacy.

E: Anyway, Manti's already mentioned that Livid is off, so whatever. I'm sure you've had this discussion a hundred times over in that thread.

Livid came out 5-6 years after Lunar diplomacy and wasn't even mentioned in the quest. All of the minigames going on the cape were actually introduced in the quests. You literally do a Court Case in a quest, you do a stripped down version of the Elder Kiln in a quest, same with phoenix. All the minigames planned to go on the cape are literally done in the quests, and have some sort of permanent unlock. Also, Court Cases are more of a miniquest than minigame anyway since they have their own storyline and aren't repeatable.

The Lunar spellbook is unlocked in a quest, but that doesn't mean all future spells for it are quest related. Just like Trouble Brewing is unlocked in a quest area. There's no mention of Livid in any quests, and the spells are a very tenuous link at best. They took two NPC that exist and made a farming minigame thats unrelated to the quest.

I'll be honest even with spotlight I've been playing like 7 years and have never once played a game of Trouble Brewing.

Is Lunar diplomacy required to max? No. That's what a lot of people aim for. Is it required for comp? Yes. But comp is difficult and I don't feel that many people go for it/get it.

At least it's off, that's nice. half chompy kills or something next, at least

One could argue Livid Farm is quest related because until you do Lunar Diplomacy Pauline does not open Livid Farm.

You can do Trouble Brewing as soon as you can get to Mos Le Harmless by starting the quest, but you can't do Livid until you beat Lunar Diplomacy.

My side of it, yea, although unfortunately most of the opposite side just responded by calling us lazy or thick headed (despite the fact that I've completed Livid already for comp). So, while I disagree with it being quest related, I do appreciate that you explain your side instead of resorting to just insults =)

Claim enhanced fire cape - ew

I don't wanna give up my three useful combat capes for a sucky override just to trim quest cape.

Enhanced fire cape isn't even really quest related, sure beat the Kiln can be justified but why beat it 3 times with different combat styles and sacrifice your rewards forcing you to do it 3 more times to actually have decent capes to use.

This. I don't want to lose 3m by sacrificing my capes and getting them again. That's drops it from 96m (3 capes + extra Mage for keepsake) to 93m profit from Final Boss...

I don't think it fits at all.

Just because fight kiln is a quest unlock doesn't make the every last reward it offers quest related - the quest related content is completing the full version of the game which the quest unlocked. Not beating it repeatedly for an arbitary item not linked to the quest by lore or anything.
