Added patch notes. Jagex logic: oh we made a quest excruciatingly easy and marginalized with the onset of EoC? Better wait 4 3 years to fix it [Dragon Slayer] :P.

Don't worry, they now rebalanced like 1% of the quest monsters needing rebalancing ;) Though still, better late then never.

“I had a feeling we weren’t coming back from this fight when it began.”

“Do you have any regrets?”

“I don’t. It seems surprising, I know, but I wouldn’t change a thing. This is how it was meant to be.”

“Huh, you never really notice how lovely the day is until you realize you’ll never see it again.”

“Mmmhmm.”

For bonus fun, during the beta Elvarg was literally made of murder, capable of outright ignoring the fact that you had a dragonfire shield. Honestly though, isn't that damage pretty close to the limits of F2P healing? Especially at lower levels when the quest unlocks your T50 chest gear and you're doing like 1/5 of the target audience's health :v

And now Ruler of the Tower seems somehow even more obnoxious to get! I didn't think it was possible~

Pretty glad I got 7500 dreadnips months ago now  :D. Never wanna see that tower again.

Nice to see the MTX advantage fixed, hopefully this means the aforementioned issues with raids are fixed fairly soon (inb4 takes just as much time as the former).

Inefficiency = fun. That's objective and can't be debated. Ever.

Well, a lot more people died than I thought.

hey guys, you know what we needed

a one handed level 75 weapon with fastest speed that has zero equivalent offhand weapons that could go with it

I assume you'd get the bonuses by virtue of having it as your mainhand weapon, you can use a drygore offhand for maximum effectiveness after that.

And now Ruler of the Tower seems somehow even more obnoxious to get! I didn't think it was possible~

I think it's been discontinued, actually.

Anyone found any post quest stuff to do?

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

Castle Drakan will be yours to explore freely after the quest, and it will unlock combat and skill updates, as well as give you more opportunities to act like a vampyre.

RIP whatever we voted for.

I just don't get why pets that at some point cost upwards of what 9/10 bonds (drake?) or in real terms $55 is now pretty much no better than having a normal yak.  If they didn't have the no death I wouldn't have bought one in the first place.

I kinda felt like they made the boss hard in this one in a very cheap way.

Like Vanstrom etc were hard because they were hard, with the blisterwood/flail/silver/w/e requirement.

Drakan compared to Vanstrom would be easy in equal circumstance the difficultly was purely from extreme restrictions on gear, which felt a bit cheap imo

Also for anyone who thought they couldn't live up to Ana's legacy - don't worry they killed basically every character in the entire series because who needs characters for the finale?

At least the sunspear sword thingy is kinda useful I guess and Drakan Wings look good.

the only reason i died at the boss was because i lagged out at some points because the same issue from the last fight, that being the arena is made out of one million fixtures and that the bombs attack creates a bunch of animated objects at the same time, causes lag at all the wrong moments

oh and that one time i got hit by the instakill attack, but i never got to find out how it worked

Well, I must say the quest was good, felt a bit too short though, also the fact that we get to see Drakan for the first time and then boom ded, felt rushed, the plot twist at the end was pretty good though, didn't see it coming until she asked to whisper to Safalaan.

The fight, like Sy mentioned, was difficult because of the restrictions regarding weaponry and gear, though I think they intended this for it to be a fair game to people without high end gears, I did like the fact that they did it this way though, it was all based on knowing what to do, rather than do I have my ovls, t90 gear so I can rek him?

Rewards were good though, too bad I already got the vyrewatch req done so I won't be getting benefits from the sunpear, but still, a good reward and hefty XP.

the damage you take from the blood locks are scaled to your hp though, so with that mindset the alternative would have been to scale to your combat level, which would have been more unfair to people who can't afford t90. this way, with the gear set, they can balance specifically around what they know you have, not what they think you should have

the restores during the fight were also fair enough to progress without having to stop every phase to do it manually

as for drakan being tossed away so quickly, i think the myreque suffered more indignity, because if you don't pause to talk to them at every moment, their character building can be entirely skipped over until it's too late (although a lot of quests seem to revel in that lately)

at least drakan gets enough lore that he's propped up as a tragic figure, albeit with only the bare minimum amount required scraping under the door there

also, always pick "humiliate the werewolf"
