What's the best Blisterwood weapon to use for the quest? I made myself a crossbow thinking it would be decent but its dps is horrible, tried the wand and orb which seems much better but what about dual-wielding sickles?

I did the entire thing with polearm, and in retrospect, melee is the worst way to go. I'd go with staff, I think.

Oh wow finally a NEW Master Quest that I can almost do, lol.  I need 79 Construction (currently 71) and 76 Hunter (currently 62).

oh, right, there was a construction requirement

uh

i guess making extremely stable barricades in a matter of seconds takes a lot of skill?

Lol, sounds about right.  I'm excited to be able to do this quest...I just finished Branches of Darkmeyer last month and it's one of my favorite quests in one of my favorite quest series. :)

Honestly the whole boss fight was interesting, but they totally screwed you on healing.

It really required careful management of damage intake and knowing when to heal.

However, I often gotten really bad luck with continuously being stun. Lord Drakan was often pulling me back as soon as I was further than 2-3 squares away from him. Then when I used freedom, he instantly stun me again straight away. All I then could do was either heal up or decide to try again. That is the real pain of Lord Drakan. The rest of his mechanics where not much of a bother if you could keep moving properly.

I noticed that Protect from Melee was a huge help in mitigating damage.

Wasn't the easiest thing to do just stand in melee distance (except for the final fight) and use protect from melee? Worked fine for me. Threw in devotion too, you could include debilitate if you want. No need to kite until the last battle.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
