My 500 dollar computer (many upgrades)

- Dual Processor Intel Xeon X5450 3.0GHz 8 Core CPUs (12MB Cache each) TDP 120Watt x2 = 240 Watt for processors only
- This Xeon X5450 speed is equal to an i7 but this computer has dual processor=twice as fast as an i7
- 32 GB DDR2 ECC RAM (667MHz) in 8 banks
- 128GB Sandisk SSD SATA3 6GB/s
- 2x500GB = 1TB SATA HDD set at RAID 0 striped for fast performance
- DVD-ROM
- NVidia GeForce 7950GT 512MB Dual DVI
- Intel Gigabit Lan
- 875Watt PSU 
- 2x USB 3.0, 8x USB 2.0
- Intel 5400 Chipset
- Windows 7 Ultimate - fresh install

Keyboard, mouse, wifi adapter

Looking at stock computers and found that all they have is very high storage and crap processors, ranging from 600-1200 dollars at staples. Havent tried it yet but it should be some fast gaming. It also has a SSD supposedly making it up to 10 times faster!

Well, generally getting stock or pre-built computers is way more expensive than getting individual components.
