New blog

Just quickly figured that I didn't really have the motivation to keep up with what I had started last time, with daily updates and all that stuff (mainly not feeling like playing, etc.)

I preferred starting anew in a fresh thread, this time I'll just be posting whatever whenever. That way I won't feel any pressure to meet some kind of daily quota and I won't have to worry about keeping track of + taking screenshots of everything.

Got my main, an alt, my Ironman and a F2P pure, so expect to see stuff from those here and there.

Current state, in case anyone's interested in having an overview (and to spare you the wall of text if you aren't):

Got to 120 Thieving on my main today, took me months to get there mainly due to lacking the motivation to play (otherwise I could have easily gotten that within a month, hah.) I appreciate the color scheme; I'm a fan of purple, and black as the secondary color always works.

I really want to get 120 Hunter at some point later. Hunter pet is easily the best skilling pet imo, and paw print icon is cute, + the light brown goes well with pretty much everything, and again, black secondary color. I think the Hunter skill really suits my character well in general, either way. I don't really wear the Shadow Hunter outfit but I love the walk animation and the bow. :P

Given the insane exp rates you can get, theoretically this shouldn't take me too long, but it also requires a lot more effort so eh. I would never be able to just do it all in one go haha. I could probably set a goal to gain 500k-1m exp a day or something and I'd get there eventually, which is most likely what I'll end up doing.

---

Alt is currently inactive; working towards ~91 Thieving, I got from 76 to 85 during my last bond. Could have easily finished that and gotten to 91 before my two weeks ended, but I didn't have motivation for it; figured I had gotten from 76 to 85 which I think was pretty good already so I decided to just take a break. I've got a bond sitting in the bank which I'll redeem on bxpw, I'll wrap up Thieving quickly then.

To be honest the plan here is probably to have my alt sitting at Prifddinas pickpocketing elves whenever I log onto it. Really easy gp, requires very little effort and attention (although sometimes I don't even have the motivation for that but that's a different story.)

Thieving is my endgame tbh, haha. I'll go out there and do some solo bossing from time to time (I still want Lilwyr), train some other skills or do questing/Slayer, rarely much more, though. I'm really not interested in higher level bossing so you'll likely never even see a glimpse of Arraxor or Telos or anything like that here (although I may eventually try to figure out Arraxor if my ironman ever gets there someday.)

---

Speaking of Ironman, I've recently picked that back up. Actually, started over fresh on a new one (my old one wasn't that far in to begin, figured I'd just start anew.)

For those who don't know of it, there's that full guide for Level 3 to MQC/Comp (here), I decided to pretty much follow that guide religiously. I like a bit of structure, it gives me a set path to follow, and always a specific goal to work towards depending on where I am in my progression. Once I complete all the quests I'll start focusing on training specific skills a bit more.

Right now, I've gotten up to & completed Stolen Hearts/Diamond in the Rough, and decided to branch off for a little bit and get the Warpriest of Tuska set. This minigame is so freaking tedious man, the Woodcutting island is pretty unreliable with sometimes taking forever cutting roots and subsequently running out of time before earning the 25% anima, and the agility island can be really annoying when the RNG constantly decides that the next island = the one right behind you so that you need to hop all the way around. Firemaking island is really chill though, along with the other one where you must construct additional pylons. Those are pretty much impossible to fail.

At least I'm lucky that they lowered the costs of the rewards so much, so I only need to spend 4 hours there :P

Overall though, I heavily recommend any new Ironman go there and pick up Warpriest. That set is pretty much gonna be grafted to my body permanently for a very long time; I'll never find anything better for a while, and it may not seem like much but I've gotten a bunch of early levels in a handful of skills which I definitely don't say no to.

Won't be able to wear it quite yet, but that'll be fixed soon enough since Merlin's Crystal + Holy Grail are pretty much next on the list. :3

Also went ahead and got Dragon Wolf for my Ironman, best 5 bonds ever spent. It's super cute and tbh I enjoy the mechanic where your pet earns "XP" as you go and grows to the next stage when it gets enough. That and Legendary pet will be really useful so yeah.

---

F2P pure likely won't be played very much compared to the others. My main reasons for playing that account is for whenever I don't want to have to worry about money at all, I can leave P2P alone for a bit and just mess around on my F2P pure without a care in the world. I just saw a near maxed F2P pure the other day when I logged on while my membership was out, it inspired me to want to achieve that one day.

I'll probably just send supplies over from my main or my alt for 99 Cooking + Firemaking tbh. I'm fully aware that this would very likely be frowned upon by the pure F2P community, I'm not really looking for their approval though.

I respect that they want to do everything within the boundaries of the F2P game, and earning money on a P2P main to boost a F2P pure kinda breaks their rules, but I do this for my own amusement, and I'm not really looking to compete with them anyway. They maintain their own F2P highscores, I'll stay out of it and I'm not gonna pretend like I'm awesome and pro F2P pure. They don't have to care about me. :P

So far I've roughly 50 in every skill, I got there a few years ago and picked up the account again to try and progress a little bit. I still need Ranged, Magic and Dungeoneering (40, 43 and 47), my main goals are to get the skill requirements to finish Lumbridge tasks for Explorer's Ring 4, then I think I'd like to get 55 Attack/Ranged/Magic, and I may just spend my F2P time doing Dungeoneering for a while after that until I get Gravite weapons for each style.

After that, I'll be aiming for 1k total, then I guess I'll be working on base levels in increments of 10, heh.

Sorry for boring no pictures, didn't really have anything to show. May try to make the first post look better at some point.

Finally done, can't wear it quite yet ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That was kinda tedious, could have been way worse though. Glad they lowered the costs haha.

Also in general pretty convenient for me that this stuff is still available, that the only world event I missed/didn't bother with is the only one where they kept the rewards available afterwards. Might have to go there later to pick up the spear overrides and Tuska's Wrath.

I missed this it seems.

Finally bothering to complete Death and Blood ethereal outfits (already have full Law outfit), shouldn't take very long, I got 10.5k fragments already and it's only been like a few hours since I started during the evening.

Finished this, feels so satisfying to look at.

If anyone's wondering, @ 99 took me a day to gather the 36k fragments I needed (not 24 hours lol, wouldn't be able to tell you exactly how many hours 'cause I've not been keeping track, but I started yesterday evening and been at it most of the day today.)

Seem I get like 130-250 every 5 minutes or so? Approximately (could be a bit less or a bit more)

42ee5d7c79.png

A bit over 99-100 to get the 36k fragments, was close to farming so I went and got it.

I'm gonna aim to get at least 100 in all skills but I won't really bother specifically going for more afterwards (won't even be tracking virtual levels anymore.) Missing Strength, Construction, Agility, Fletching, Hunter, Mining, Summoning, Invention. Basically shouldn't be difficult, except Agility will be a pain.

idk why I put Hati bxp into HP, in hindsight I should have put it in Strength heh.

Also I just went and did a thing

0440c4ced2.png

You might say that's shitty, but that crossbow is what I'm always wearing when I do most skilling (for bow fashionscape), I figured I'd make it a bit more useful eh?

Couldn't be bothered trying to get Enlightened 3 and Wise 3 right now, so I just went with 2 (good enough), got it first try with 5 Pious components which is great. Glow Worm is amazing because I'll never need to bother going through the bank to get a lamp when I get a clue that requires me to go to Lumbridge swamp caves.

So many birds in one stone, and I can get a bit of extra Invention exp in the long run from the item exp I may get from killing random things with it. Won't be all that much but it's more than zero so hey.

Don't worry lol, if I augment my actual combat weapons later, they'll be getting actual good combat perks. ;p

Very weird Smithing animation glitch, anyone else notice that at some point? Only seems to rarely happen.

Sorry no gif, didn't think to record as gif.

Or wait, I just realized this is Varrock Armor 4 bonus apparently. I never remembered to wear my Blacksmith's outfit before when smithing Protean bars so that explains why I never noticed this happening before.

Learn something new every day + look like an idiot in the process :P

Shaving time off, a few seconds at a time.

Also I bought an Amulet of Souls, Reaper neck might have helped a bit with accuracy, but accuracy is already high enough (though I splash from time to time), and I value the higher stats + Prayer boosts from Souls more.

I went ahead and did 74-76 Hunter on my alt, for Lord of Vampyrium (that quest sucks tbh), then River of Blood (way better) so I could get Sunspear.

Didn't take a screenshot of quest completion screen because im a noob

Put all the XP rewards from both quests into Smithing, got me from 81 to 84, 223k more exp and I can boost for attuned crystal weapons, if I ever managed to get seeds lol.

Also got 75 Div, plan is to do Fate of the Gods at some point, then get to 80 for The Light Within so I can kill Crystal Shapeshifters to (hopefully) get attuned crystal weapon seeds more easily.

Goal is to replace Sunspear with attuned halberd + bow + staff, but Sunspear is a very nice alternative in the meantime. The quests were worth doing just for the xp rewards anyway.

I guess that'll also unlock Invention but I doubt I'll bother with that.

Was really close for the longest time except I never bothered, one DG daily challenge was enough to get it. Happened to find a Frost Dragon in it so what started out as a c6 small speed run ended up being a 20 minute small because I scraped the entire floor to get enough gp to make an altar lol

85 Smithing, should be able to boost for attuned crystal weapons once I might manage to suffer through getting 3 attuned weapon seeds.

Was going to do Fate of the Gods then The Light Within and see how manageable Crystal Shapeshifters were at my level and with my gear, but I don't feel like finishing Mahjarrat Memories for 80 Div and don't feel like questing right now so maybe I might manage to get one off regular elves first?

Don't have the gp to get actual 90 smithing for the free attuned seed yet (unless I did 58 hours at Artisan's Workshop with Iron Ingot I lol), and I feel like by the time I'd make the gp for it + trained the skill to 90, I might have just been able to get a seed drop instead so I don't know how much it'd be worth it. Maybe if I get really tired of "killing" elves and/or shapeshifters.

I got those stats during a time where my motivation wasn't yet gone. :P

Had like 8 skills left to 99 last year (early April), I hadn't really played in like two years and I just suddenly had a lot of motivation to finish that and went for it lol.

I barely have the motivation to finish getting Strength/Agility/Hunter/Summoning to 100 Virtual level :/ and the few stats I have left on my alt to 80. But Thieving I can do! lol

I had quite a bit of trouble with Fate of the Gods actually, but that was probably because I for some reason insisted on using lower tier gear (dragon rider top/legs and Sunspear), changed to Royal Crossbow for second attempt because I realized Sunspear wasn't gonna cut it heh. I considered sending over Nox Bow from my main just to do it easier lol.

Figured Hybrid armour would be preferable since each Nihil uses a different combat style and I wanted to keep more space for food in my bags, but I guess bringing in switches would have made me use less food in the end heh. Prayer bonus was nice but I figured it wasn't helping -that- much so I just changed to Warpriest afterwards.

Ended up with 3 out of 4 Nihils down and I had zero food left with 1¾ Prayer Potions and 1.9k health left, I may or may not have sat there in the middle of the room for several minutes straight waiting for health to regen back to full on its own.

I mean, it worked! I was able to kill the last Nihil like that with no food. Very close, but it worked. Then I realized you could bring familiars in there so I could just have brought a tortoise full of food haha

Not really looking forward to The Light Within now... motivation for quests is lacking, it's already a wonder I did FotG :P but I kinda want to get to Crystal Shapeshifters so I can get an attuned weapon crystal seed or two.

But also:

Now I can stop worrying and just have fun with it, now I can just do whatever I want at my own pace for fun because there's nothing else I wanted gp for. :D

(RIP can't even wield it yet, haven't completed the barbarian training to equip hasta yet, and haven't done Tai Bwo Wannai Trio.)

I love questing, Tai Trio wasn't hard from what I remember, so it's deffo worth doing if you want to wield your haste :D

Yeah lol, I went and did it last night. Quests aren't that hard, it's getting the motivation to do them. :P

Just finishing off 75 Strength now and then I'll get both Attack and Defence to 777k exp (they're both 70 but with like 15k exp difference), could just bring Def on par with Attack but going a lil bit further and getting them both to 777k looks neater lol.

Then I can sell Dragon scimitar for good and just put hasta on Stab/Balanced, perhaps swap attack styles depending on Slayer task but Stab should be a good default, and just let every Melee stat level at the same time. :P

I more-or-less liquidated like 95% of my bank to get the rest of the gp I needed for it lol, now every clue scroll I do or every Slayer task should feel more fun regardless because I'm starting back from almost no gold yet I have no particular gp goals anymore so every gp gain is just a gain even if it's small lol.

e0b166f9cc.png

Epic setup

I've wanted hasta for a while because Ardy cape gives +Stab bonuses and this is more or less the best stab weapon in the game lol. Gotta make use of those bonuses! (Also Stab is really good against a lot of Slayer tasks.)

Extra def bonuses on it are neat and +2 Prayer is awesome but being able to switch between every melee combat style depending on task is just super convenient (though it's far from the best Slash or Crush weapon, heh. Should be just fine keeping it on Stab.)

Whenever I may make 200k back I'll be buying Dragon boots back, perhaps another 100k for Dragon rfd gloves because I don't have the reqs for Culinaromancer boss battle yet and likely won't be getting them for a while, heh.

Need to do Desert Treasure, Temple of Ikov, Troll Stronghold & Horror from the Deep, + complete a bunch more random quests because I only have 136/175 Quest Points... yeah

Next goal for now is probably to get the requirements + complete higher levels of Ardougne diaries so I can get the better capes. Love the +Stab and +Prayer bonuses on it. Honestly don't care that much about Barrows gloves, just get them later whenever.
