Swifkit suddenly down??

Recommended Posts

When the program is opened, swiftkit freezes at the opening screen (the opening window is opened, then freezes, before the Click to play button appears).

It seems that the program is freezing when loading something.

I have tried deleting existing swiftkit program files and re-installing, and updating java, and deleting all runescape files.  Nothing is working.  It truly seems that, since today, swiftkit is not able to be run anymore.

Why??

Hiya,

It seems to be opening fine for me, what I suspect might be the case is that you are seeing a rogue ad of some kind.

The good news, is that we use google ads, so it should clear it self up thanks to their continual ad-reviews... the bad news is that it might take as much as 48 hours for it to happen.

---

Just for fun, check that it's not your antivirus triggering on the ad, causing it to hang (you should be able to see this in your antivirus' log section)?

Thanks for getting back to me and so quickly Bear Fur!

This ad thing has never happened before, and I shall re-try SK tomorrow and the next.

Hmm same symptoms, even days after.  :(

Another possibility is the latest windows 10 update.  Windows 10 is truly, the worst operating system I've ever used.  Its errors are ongoing.

I have the exact same problem. and nothing seem to work.
I have tried re installing java and swiftkit but nothing works.
I have even tried installing both 64bit java and 34bit java, and still the same problem. it works perfectly on my laptop but I can't get it to work on my desktop computer :(

Are there any specific errors you are getting? What happens when you double click the SK shortcut?

So it just comes up with the usual Click Launch to begin, except the whole window is already frozen.  The right hand window says 'Loading please wait...".  The mouse does the 'working' icon, and nowhere is clickable, then after a while, windows asks for it to be closed because it's 'not responding'.

I am also getting Mike's problem now. I click the SwiftKit icon to launch it, but that one pre-window freezes immediately. This has been happening to me since yesterday.

Looks like it's happening to me too guys. I'll take a look tomorrow evening and see if I can see what's going on.

I was able to fix the launcher, but SwiftKit doesn't even load RuneScape anymore by the looks of it. What were you guys doing with it?

The launcher still doesn't work for me. I'm not sure about RuneScape not loading because I don't play RS anymore, but I still use SK for IRC and for screenshots.

Oh ok. Yeah I haven't pushed the update yet. It will require a re-install since it can't even get to the check for updates stage.

I'll post once the new installer is available.
