Anyone else miss the hustle and bustle of World 1 Varrock West Bank?

Since my recent return to RS one of the places i've been frequenting has been the Grand Exchange as i've been trying to recover the items i lost when i was hacked 6 years ago. And although i love this new system and wholeheartedly know that it's a vast improvement over how trade used to be done i can't help but miss the old days of standing in one spot typing the same sentence over and over trying to sell your wares or buy that new item, all the while trying to avoid all the scammers. World 1 Varrock West Bank was one of the places that truly gave RS that sense of community which is something that appears to be missing in the game nowadays. While the GE is obviously much more efficient and convenient it's also completely impersonal, back then you would actually have to meet and talk to the person you were doing business with and that interaction i think just helped make you feel that much more that you were part of another community and world.

So like the title says does anyone else miss the days of one of the true centers of commerce that was World 1 Varrock West Bank?

I liked buying lobsters 200gp each at West, and running over to East to sell them 250 each. ;p

You can still flip with the G.E. nowadays, but I doubt you could get a 25% profit per lobster because everyone buys and sells at generally the same prices. If everyone else is selling lobsters for 200gp on the G.E. and you put in a buy offer at 250 you'd get them all for 200; Pre-G.E. you were buying for 250, you got them for 250.

Different market prices for different areas was nice.

You could make a nice profit selling consumables at Edgeville bank or Varrock East because those were the pit stops for pkers and most were willing to pay a premium for the convenience of not having to run all the way over to Varrock West.

Though I wouldn't take it over G.E. any day. Trying to buy a rare or obscure item really sucked because there was no guarantee someone selling the item would be online.

No arguments there, GE is by far a superior system for trading but i just think RS lost a bit of its charm and sense of community because there isn't that player interaction anymore, you really felt like you were in some insane marketplace walking through that area back then.
