For those people who think they played the game before 2001, trust me, you did not. Unless you rubbed elbows with the Gowers over in England, you were playing something else, but certainly not RS. Don't bother with the beta testing concept either. I'd sooner believe you were normal, so why fight it? :roll: I did start in May 2001. I was a forum mod back in the very old days and then player mod in rs along with *moderator* (think you might remeber him as well) until Jagex done away with the old forums ;) So i had about a year off from moderating and then came back as one when they were reintroduced. Now, the one in place may be a bit buggy, but the one I recall best was when they tried to change the questionable text to "Cabbage!"...somehow or other, there was a bug for a whole day where 2 out of every 3 times someone spoke, "Cabbage!" came out instead of what they meant to say. Standing in Varrock Town Square and listening to the mayhem was hilarious. When rune armor came out, I was among the chaos to nab rune items from the champ's guild. it was at least a day or two before I managed to get my hands on a rune long. The first day of fishing was mayhem, as I recall...someone had already nabbed level 36 by the time I woke up and logged on that day. Tres Posted April 19, 2006 Share Posted April 19, 2006 good old times...still good times now tho. edit: just noticed S H A R K on the other side of the hiscore table. i knew over half from those ppl listed in that picture...2 of those killed me in winderness...i think i died about 4 times total in wildy on my rs career even when i was basically living in wildy from 75 to 100 combat...now i would die in no matter of seconds if i just step in. M Oldfield was, and will always be a legend. i started about 2 weeks before bluerose13x could make steel kites :wink: so like 5 1/2 years? :?: back with no wildy, bank could only hold money, you could pick between pker/non pker, no one had rune and when i was a noob ( oh wait i still am! ) :P i remember sabres and gladz fighting alot :P good old days when i had a lot of fun playing :wink: and back when i was leading clans and had an impact on the clan world 8) now i have faded out and hardly anybody reconizes me :? oh well i had my "15 minutes of fame" :P Hello BMX my clan friend =). Ive been playing since before April 01, the 2nd server was just released, as well as the removal of dark magic, and I think dark prayer. And I kinda say the same thing for every post of this type, I started out as au cooldude, because some people I knew on IRC chats were playing it, and somewhat the fellow immature friend of mine on the IRC chat became my rival. (I was 11 when i started RS). I was known as AU Cooldude, I played a bit, never was a hard core trainer though, so I lazied around being 'social'. I Started out of course as the warrior class? (i think thats what they 'called' it). Most of my friendships from then reached into the Ice Cave, and also the 'ghost town' dungeon vsing Giants. I had met S A X there, and recall him being extactic one day when sandytrain logged off, and he became the no.1 on the server with prayer (at 40 something). I did the dragon quest with sandytrain, needamaid, lady lynda and someone else, nice memory which I'm sure most people could be potentially jealous of, being a complete newb (maybe level 60 combat, I have a pic somewhere of me just after doing dragon quest), doing the biggest quest of the time, with the highest leveled [fighters] around. Funny to see Tiddles post (nice to see your still around), he was the reason I made poweraxis lol, he helped me get wealthy, because I used to protect him while he mined rune, and then I would merchant it for him, he then said one day that he'd get me 20k natures (so i could get 80 mage), and because I couldn't be bothered raising any other stats, until I had my 20k natures from Tiddles. I made poweraxis from this result, and well he became my love, He was pure, I trained him hard, and I was SUPER lucky with 3 hits back then, i swear i had a bugged attack level.. 64 30 84. Anyway, thats way after RS was released, but I remember starting out as pk, but then changing after going smithing one day, and then lagging and getting killed :( and also when I first started, I attacked a bear, and I couldn't get away, and it killed me while some level 15 in full iron armour watched me as I begged for help :( Anyway, yeh these posts are so cleche but its nice to see some person I knew pop up posting in these, I know Meili from the wilderness forum pugxsi and jenstarr had (even though not really knew her well).
