lemonfish
Although runescape is said to be one of the greatest and most addictive games currently populating our internet I'm very suprised to here that many people "quit" runescape after not long of playing. I'm currently combat 95 and have quit playing - occasionally I go online because I want to here from friends but otherwise I see no particular point in playing, I find I'd prefer to live my life than be endlessly addicted. I was wondering if It is true that all experienced or high lever players are addicted to runescape because it seems that way to me. My brother still plays and he is almost impossble to pry away. Overall within all of the play do you actually think there is much point playing, since the game is endless as there is always something else to do, is there much point of continuing if there's no end. I thought RS was supposed to be fun but there's people getting madly frustrated with lagg and tiny problems like that - They never just think to leave it alone and do something else. I would like to here your comments, if any, about this. ~ Lemon
wolfboy
...the game is endless as there is always something else to do, is there much point of continuing... You answered your own question. That is the point of playing. Youth ages, immaturity is outgrown; ignorance can be educated and drunkeness sobered, but stupid is forever.

Doomster
You either see chasing levels as a challenge, as boring, or as almost impossible when you realize that the next few levels need as much tedium as your entire progress so far. Or you auto, and pray you don't get caught.
cookins2506
like people said... its a game there is no point and will not benefit u in life... its made to have fun. which can be done several ways by pking, dueling, doing quest etc. - as i see most people become addicted to the game and relize about a year later that this is all they have done and dont have a life. For me is more of just a relaxing thing or something i do when im bored and nothing good on tv. friends, school, and all real life comes first... this is just for fun nothing else. lemonfish
to be the best you can to be proud in what you have acheived Yeh but it doesn't really benefit you in real life. Any entertainment does not benefit you.... But runescape holds you in. I mean other games aren't quite so addictive but runescape can really damage your social life and there is no Real Life acheivment. I now see it as people just wasting their lives

You don't know what most people's real life like. I became addicted in summer 2004 until a few months ago. I have combat 123 and 1700+ total skills but I don't play Runescape much nowday also I bought World of Warcraft a few days ago. I started playing Runescape BEFORE I began doing University course. Now I'm 2nd year University student and I still enjoy with my course. There are no problem that related to Runescape. Also I was addicted for created my own websites during school and college. There were no problems as well.

sakrifise
I started in 2003 and quit in 2006.I just can't stand rs2 and the community it has.I can't stand the economy and those involved in it.ALL my friends quit rs in rsc which I made a few new ones in rs2 but they even quit. It's just not fun anymore and when you take a long hard look at what the game truely is you'll realise how much of a waste it is.I usually sign in one a month now and wont even be able to craft one load of essence before I get bored ans sign out. Youchuu
RS is boring ONLY for the F2P, the P2P never get bored (with all those members only updates)... That's what I think. Always been F2P, combat 91, total over 1k and not bored yet. I would like to get membership but i cant so ill stick with the free "version". Theres no minigames or other fun thingys but i love training skills. So, i think that even the free version of RS isnt boring.

l0rd
personaly i think that runescape does benefit you (or at least me) in real life. it often relaxes me if i am stressed because a upcoming test or a large amount of homework, in these situations runescape is helpful and calming.
