I'm thinking of building my own RC car from scratch and i need a bit of help... I don't know how to make a transmitter or receiver. I can get two antennas its just the wiring im confused about and also how to transmit and receive the signals. Could someone please help me out???

And also when im drawing circuit configurations like showing how different things are connected what are the symbols i need to use? ie. for a resistor its _/\/\/\/\_

You sure you know enough about electronics to be building one from "Scratch". Or do you mean buying a kit and asemblying it. As its not the easiest thing to construct, with basic knowledge.

http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/symbol.htm Theres a list of the more popular symbols.

For the transmitting and receiving you are probably better of buying a remote control, with this there are different frequencies that they operate at. There are several chips you can buy with different frequencies.

Your best beat is to look for a walkthrough or guide to building one. Since you might not be opting for a kit, dont know how many walkthroughs you can get. As there is alot of detail especially in some of the kits you can buy.

I have a Rush Evo i made from parts, its fully customised, using better servos. Taking apart a old RC won't really help you, because everything is really kept undercover.

What are you planning to make it out of? MDF (LOL)

Either get a pre assembled car and re assemble it or buy a second hand one.

MAKING ONE FROM SCRATCH IS A REALLY BAD IDEA!
