    [*:3jt21aol]5. Frequently Asked Questions.

1. Why this guide?

I found a great method how to get faster experience with powermining. The place is pretty unknown, but i thought you might wanna raise mining fast.

2. What do I need?

First go to Shantay Pass. Be sure you have:

  •

    [*:3jt21aol]Pickaxe

[*:3jt21aol]235 coins ( 75 gp if you wear ring of charos (U), thanks to Snaparrow for the info )

    [*:3jt21aol]1 waterskin (1-4)

[*:3jt21aol]At least 35 mining. If you do have 45, it's a lot better experience.

Buy a shantay pass for 5 coins. Also buy a waterskin from Shantay, which costs 30 coins. Now go through the gate and head to magic carpet place which is just west. Talk to the magic carpet transporter and fly to Bedabin camp. While flying with magic carpet, don't wear anything in your weapon slot, it is because of safety.

3. Where can I do powermining?

You can do it in a quarry which is located at the desert, south to bandit camp. There are a lot of rocks so it's easy.

4. Pictures/Maps.

5. Frequently Asked Questions.

Q: What am I supposed to do with my granite/sandstone?

A: To get the best experience, drop them after your inventory is full.

Q: How come it is in desert and I don't need waterskins?

A: You do need 1 waterskin while going to Quarry, just drop it there and the heat won't hit you.

Q: How fast is the experience per hour?

A: It depends on what kg sandstone/granite you mine most. there are 500g, 1KG, 2KG, 5KG and 10KG sandstone/granite pieces. Read more about the experience here.

Q: What should I wear?

A: You need a pickaxe for sure, take a games necklace/charge glory amulet or a ring of dueling if you want to get out of there fast. You can wear anything you want basically.

Q:What's the difference between granite and sandstone?

A: To mine sandstone, you need 35 mining, but granite requires 45. So granite is a lot better. But if you are 45-55 mining, I recommend you mining sandstone and granite together. Over 55 mining, only mine granite.

Q: There are some kind of (500g), (2Kg) signs after granite and sandstone blocks, what are these?

A: This shows how many kilograms one block weights. The more it weights, the more you get mining experience.

It enlightens the method of mining Sandstone/Granite but it doesn't really go all that in depth. You could reccomend dropping the ore as soon as you extract it or dropping an invent of it. And also, wearing the Ring of Charos (a) reduces the transport fees from 200gp to 100gp, it can be reduced again by completing the Ali Morrisane mini quest.

Other than that, it's a good guide, good luck getting into the AOW. :)

Quit RS to play real games. :P Bye TIF, miss you.

dead the ROC(a) doesnt reduce price to 100 its if you do rogues trader price goes down to 100gp from 200gp ROC(a) reduces it to 75gp

for some reason, granite and sandstone mine rather quickly, esp compared to gold, the ore 1 down from granite.

it mines somewhere between as fast as iron and coal do at my level (67)

plus it respawns as fast as iron does. granite is definitely the best ore to powermine on if you weren't planning on keeping your ores.

(for those who do... iron, ardy warp, bank, mine south of legends, repeat.)

thanks for writing this guide, if you haden't i'd spend up almost 2x the time trying to powermine iron.

tip.it!!! get a life!!! you cant' do anythign with your lame signature size!!! i can't eeven put a quote and a comment! wrawr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even at mining 88 i still find powermining granite rather slow. I don't 1 hit them all the time and is definitely not the best ore to powermine for fastest experience at 35/45 mining

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

I tried this from 54-60 and it was incredibly boring but once you focus on it you can earn about 30k xp an hour

This is very well written, but I dont think we need a guide for powermining. All you do is mine, then drop, no need for a guide.

Somebody even asked what should they do with the granite, so I think a lot of people get answers and a good guide. A lot of people don't even know that spot.

I had a go at granite mining, but dropping all the rocks was incredibly annoying. I can't be bothered to do it again. Nice simple guide though.

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

Great guide. I've been there myself from 81-83 mining at the moment. The EXP isnt bad. I get anywhere from 30k- 42k an hour. Depending how concentrated I am.

There was a hidden update about 4 months ago that meant you now need waterskins while in the quarry. this makes it amazing ly annoying as you have to refil your waterskin every inv or so. luckily i got 85 mining about a week before this update.
