Kenshinjapan
I probably won't get a tattoo as I don't really have a desire for one. However, I do have advice for people posting their tatto ideas. Think it over and don't have something stupid. You really think your gonna look cool when your 80 and have a sponge-bob tattoo on your neck :-s ? He was cool back in 2007 though right? Not in 60 years :-X . And don't get a tattoo of a band or one of their logos. Do you really want to be a groupie? I'll pass. But seriously, just get something original that isn't going to be uncool in 5 years :? . YOU! ATTEND TET EVENTS! CLICK HERE!

I have to say this because that comment is [developmentally delayed]ed (and I say this to everyone who says that). When you're 80, are you really going to care about being cool? Are you honestly going to care what people think of your body for that matter? Your skin is going to be wrinkling/sagging anyways, it's not going to look much better without a tattoo. And I don't remember the last time I saw my great grandpa trying to pic up girls.. Or caring what people think of him.. If he didn't care how he looked, I don't think he would comb his hair, cut it, shave, wear nice clothes, etc. Just because you have saggy skin doesn't mean saggy skin with a bad tattoo isn't worse. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.

Umega
Nope, I would never want one. Too painful (apparently) to have done and too expensive to have removed, which would also be very sore afterwards. I avoid pain anyway possible. :D I guess I wouldn't mind a very small, discreet one. :P No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.
Futurama
It's really not that painful, depending. My other half decided to have one on the top of her foot and she was clenching in pain throughout. Needless to say its one of the most painful places, apparently the worst is the bottom of your foot. I only quickly pulled a face at one of mine when she jabbed the needle in too far by accident and pierced the skin. oh well :D

I always found this argument a bit funny 8-) If I even lived to 80, I doubt I'd care much about what other people thought about me at that age. Not like I'd be showing around my back and biceps much at 80+. Besides, my tattoo is so simple and small it doesn't matter (about half 1/3th of an inch, a S letter, upper left bicep). Some old hag age 70 tells me it looks horrible? Big deal. But I disagree with a sponge-bob tattoo

True, places like the top of your foot would hurt, but anything on your biceps/shoulders/other meaty areas doesn't hurt too bad. He was only 1 letter short but he couldn't handle it (this was waaay back then) so his tattoo had a letter 'a' missing. Ultra Unholy,Hearted Machine... Abelmisi
My personality and views changes alot so I think I would regret it. My advice: Don't even think of tattooing 'till you've grown up, and matured. A tattoo may also not fit various occasions so say , a red sox tattoo may look cool with my mates, but not on my sister's wedding.

Well maybe not, but this was just an example I though from the top of my head showing how people go to various occasions with people with various interests and viewpoints so a type of tattoo may be suitable here but in an other "happening" it may stand out. Correct now? :)

IGoddessI
Lol if I have a phobia of needles and can sit through a tattoo (my whole left shoulder) without crying or leaving, I'm sure you can do it. The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours. The Real ET
I'm not into the whole permenently (spelling?) marking my body thing, so I don't even consider getting tatoos or piercings. They are also a huge turn-off when looking for a girl (but I wouldn't not consider a girl just because of a tatoo ). The biggest problem with tatoos is how they tend to fade as you get older, and depending on how you age the image may become warped by your own skin. So yeah, no tatoos for me. Cowards can't block Warriors.

So yeah, no tatoos for me. :thumbsup:Fading you can't do much about - true; as for warping, that depends entirely on you. Massive weight gain / loss on males is the only real problem. Females same deal, but need to be mindful of their stomach if they plan to have kids in the future and have a tattoo there. While the risk is low it can happen. Just like with stetch marks after pregnancy, sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't.
