  1. well, i hope and think they do more then that. however, if jagex made this "sweep up" thing a global thing instead of "de-spawning" things it might make this game interesting, my point being if their was some way of adding all that stuff back into the GE, and have players buy it and the coins from those players exit the game entirely it would deflate the economy. especially with ashes, imagine the thousands of ashes that go up collected? the people who do herblore with serum 207 could effective balance out this game, very unlikely. but the fact is, potential. take for example a story i read about, this guy BH's a guy wearing a fury, and the fury is found on the ground before he can pick it up, he is killed. this item is removed from the game. instead add it to the GE, because its not going to do any1 any good despawning. and now the 3.3m(?) would just have left this game forever, like the ammy. however this would create less GP in game theoretically. Ashes are supricingly easy to get at the GE, bought over 235k ashes there within 10 hours (yes, I'm one of those crazy herblawists, 99 banked ftw).
  2. The only way this update affects me is that I no longer have to think of a reason not to give items to beggars =D> I've always hated trading since it ment I had to deal with merchants which usually tried to rip you off anyways. So the GE is heaven for me, instant access to pretty much any item I could ever want in mere seconds. I've gained tens of millions from selling useless junk (t-trail items, low lvl fish and such) and bought myself 99 herblore all thanks to the ge! (still working on the skill, started out at 75, now 86/99) I've only once held a drop party and that was when I got 99 smithing. Just holding the drop party must have increased my guests by 2/3rd seeing that pretty much everyone was there for the drops and not the level up, so I never held another drop party again and I've never seen why ppl do it. Why give away free items when you've worked hard for a skill, why do ppl expect you to give them free items to watch you level up? If they were truly your friends they wouldn't care the least if they got anything or not for spending a few minutes of their life at a level up party.
  3. As a 99 smith, I must agree that rune smithing is not worth it anymore, and hasn't been worth it even before the ge (due to the time it took to sell the rune, it was faster and better to simply alch the rune). On the other hand as a 85 miner, I find the updates ok. Rune ores are worth more and there are LESS miners out there since everyone ventures to the wilderness (2 rocks) instead of the 1 rock places (like the lava maze dungeon which I found was empty 100% of the time, the temple of ligth or nietotz(sp?)). If you know what you are doing, you can manage a row of worlds and constantly be mining rune without ever having to hit a empty world.
  4. Hm very nice. Do people buy at 20 each? I had bought ~50k for training herblore earlier when it was cheap as well. bought 235k ashes at 20 ea, now they are over 29 ea :D (yes, going for 99 herblore with the ashes and tarrs)
  5. jage don't ban IP-adresses. what's wrong with the world? Taken from the latest development dairy (RuneScape vs. Real-world Trading):
  6. Don't think it would be a good idea. Some skills like mining still require world hopping for "increased" profits such as rune mining. If there were no limit on the hop speed I could theoratically get millions a hour mining rune compared to the measly 400k or so a hour I get from the current system at good conditions (if I often hit unmined worlds and such).
  7. The latest updates have overall been rather good. Managed to sell crappy fish and junk in the ge for well over 25m. Managed to buy 90 crafting, managed to bank 95 herblore and the removal of bots has gained me even more money, since I had quite alot of those supplies banked. Overall, the replacing of the pking with minigames won't affect me in any way, so to me, the last few updates are heavenly! :D YES, THE UPDATES ARE GODLY! Did Jagex made a good update by removing the Wilderness and introducing Bounty Hunter? Yes Was changing Duel Arena to F2P a good "move"? Yes What do you think of Clan Wars? A fun game: The trading update. I think it's super (good update) Summoning. I will wait until it comes out
  8. Aaah, but, even with "fair" stakes, ppl could loose on purpose in order to abuse the system (that is, transfer money).
  9. taken from the development diaries: Dosen't hurt eh?
  10. Personally I feel that Jagex has moved in the right direction. Not only does the last few months of updates remove rwt, but it also removes scams, account hacking (why hack a account for gold when you can't transfer it?), merchanting is no longer possible for the average joe, duelers now have to actually work for their money via the duel tournament. With the release of the clan wars, you can now finally try out wars with ones full power without risk of loosing anything (seeing that you don't loose items while in the clan war you can bring out your best items and have a epic battle!) and the bounty hunter is yet another genious update to make pking more fun! I think this is for the greater good. The only thing I have mixed feelings about is the 3k imbalance trade limit. Of course it removes rwt, but with a 3k limit, one can't give his friend a gift or recieve one for that matter. I think jagex ought to make some sort of system which would allow you to give items to your friends. Like if you've had someone on your list for well over a month perhaps? But it could be abused as any system I guess. Lending money will also be impossible with this update. Maybe jagex could add the option to take loans from the rs bank(with interests of course)? It is a bank after all. Anyways, this weeks update is one of the best so far in my books, hand in hand with the Grand Exchange! Oh, and about those drop party changes.... Again, it's impossible to do rwt in there now that the entire world is going to know if you drop more than 1m in there, soooo.... I think jagex ought to make a new room available to build in your house, a party room! Would require a certain amount of ppl to be able to drop a certain amount of gold in your house in your parties. (just a idea)
  11. Why would anyone pay for a better gravestone so that the ones who kills them in the future gets better loot for killing them? It's like begging someone to kill you.
  12. In simple terms, coins are becoming more valuable since you can buy more with them, thus, you get less coins for your items when you sell them. YOU ARE NOT LOOSING MONEY! The money is simply becoming more valuable. You are simply looking at smaller piles of coins with the same value as the large piles you used to have. Edit: The situation could have been used to gain money (by selling on w2 or forums shortly after the release of the GE), seeing that this situation was a dead giveaway since the moment the GE was release. Personally I gained money from the GE since the first items I put up for sale were cooked trout, salmon, cod and bass (items that I'd never bother to sell with the old trade system since it would have taken ages), which was all sold for the grand price of 12M but I did not have anything valuable like armour or logs/ores/runes in my bank in bulk, simply had a large pile of cash (Sold most of the junk I had before the release of the GE) so I didn't really loose anything. Edit2: Also... I wouldn't count on the prices getting back to what they used to be seeing that the middle man has been cut away from the equation (Merchants and their "services" are no longer needed, you can buy items fast in bulk now without one. There will always be some around though.).
  13. I don't see any problem with meeting up with ppl you meet online as long as you know what you are doing. Take things slowly and you'll be fine. It would be pretty dumb to just rush into meeting someone you just met online a few days/weeks ago. Personally, I've met dozens of runescape players in real life. Even hosted lan partys for the Icelandic community and was the first to do so (Only 3 attended at the first lan party, but it's grown since then :P The Icelandic community in itself is almost like a small clan imo :D). I've also met a few ppl in real life that I've met in irc chatrooms (Those were the first ppl I met from the internet, I was 16 years old (currently 20) when I met up with someone for the first time. Met up for easy access on large amounts of files, such as anime collections and such. They were and are still good friends of mine) and I've met many of the Battlefield/Moh:aa/Cod players of Iceland via large lan parties. Since Iceland is so dang small, the whole country would know if anything would happen to anyone attending such meetings anywayz... It's a good way of making friends if you ask me :D
  14. Too bad rs2 was that kind of a update. RS IS in 3d now and has been for years. Anyways, this update might be a new continent? A new skill or quest? We won't know till it's here.
  15. Why are ppl mentioning the "x" options at all? It's not like they sped up the training. All the "x" option did was slow down the training, but on the other hand making it "easier" to do since there are fewer clicks, thus less concentration is needed and more ppl actually bothered to train the skills.
