  1. Noone is actually giving age a thought? Runescapes playerbase is a lot younger than most MMO's, I'd say that plays a major role.
  2. There's no such thing as luck, good or bad, there's only low probability.
  3. Well, I'm quiet and thoughtful, both in RS and RL. I'm usually helpful and kind, altho not overly generous with time or material means. I have a theory tho, shy people tend to be more outgoing online, the jokers tend to take it to the extreme and frustrated people tend to be rude. I'm generalising a lot ofcourse, but I think those are traits that define a lot of people, and their difference between RL and RS. What they have in common is that they are insecure in their rl identity, and project it on their online self image. This usually goes on for a long time before they find out who they are comfortable being. I know I struggled like that for a long time before I was satisfied with who I was. Before you get there it will be extremely polarised if given the opportunity. It doesen't have to be online, it can be anywhere you have the chance to be different. Most people will take it, and try their wings being someone else.
  4. Why can't you trade stuff between characters? Not to gain an unfair advantage? Are gifts from friends unfair advantages, should gifts be banned?
  5. Well, I got nerdy tendencies, such as, I obsess about stuff til I'm completely trough with em. It might be a game, learning an instrument, reading a certain authors works or whatever. Social relations are excluded, and I'm percieved as a rather relaxed individual (!). I used to be into martial arts but quit when I realised 20 hours a week wasn't enough to be the best, and I felt that my studies and work had earned some attention. It's hard to study and work when you are physically exhausted, digital entertainment and music doesn't limit me in that way :) I don't share other nerdy attributes tho, I'm socially capable and I priorotise my real life in front of my digital one (altho it does get a lot of attention  ) like the stereotype seems to do. Actually, I've been playing games online since my early teens, and from my experience there's all kinds of people. Maybe the stereotyped nerdy gamer seeks the attention of his own kind, or maybe he's not as common as some would like to believe, but I meet all sorts of people when gaming, and there's none that sticks out more than the other. The only thing that most of us have in common is that we are male (I know there are female gamers out there, I'm not blind O:) ).
  6. I'm back, and looking for some old friends. Splathead Prince Volax Paulw The Kzpker If anyone has any idea where these people are I'd love to get back in touch with em :) Playing under the name Blotulf since 2007/09/09. Used to play a char named Bs_Johannes, been on a "break" for around 2 years now, and didn't want to go back to the old char.
  7. Alex Webster and Justin Chancellor are defenitly my favourites, not saying they are the best tho. I don't know enough about bassplaying to name the best player. Seeing the bassplayer in KoRn slap away this summer was also a highlight, but I haven't listened to them enough to judge him. I remain a happy amateur
  8. Since these will actually be my last words here on the forums: (!) 'Don't let your ideas get eaten by the ideas of others to easily'
  9. Do they care about how we feel? No, ofcourse not. You refer to "we" as in the group you belong to, the group of people who act like utter jerks when I call them. I'm polite, and if I get a "[bleep] off" or a prank as an answer, do you think I care if you feel upset about me calling you? Luckily, most people are actually not that rude, they just politely say that they are not interested, making my job a whole lot easier and almost endurable. Thank you for being so understanding.
  10. Hey, we telemarketers are also people >_< There's probably no job in the world that renders less satisfaction when you've done it right.
  11. Civ 3. You'll need nothing else until Civ 4 comes :D
  12. Hmm yeah, also had my share of bad stuff and came back to the forums recently, but apart from you I enjoyed WoW and I still do;)
