Off-Topic board swamped with news articles

24 January 2009 - 04:43 AM

January 23, 2009 - Various people, many in their teens, some younger, many older, are noticing a strange trend of what is being called a "bandwagon": people with no creativity simply posting a link to a 'strange' news quirk and flooding their Off-Topic board with things of little discussion value. One teen, identified by authorities as "Supportmage", calls the situation, quote, "a waste of time ".

Will this end soon? Discuss.

Java application

Sort of a general question, but this is bothering me. My new mouse has the buttons that are customizable, usually to page forward and page back. But page back is right next to my thumb, meaning I close during the game more than I should. I can disable this for certain programs, though. Does anyone know the program that Runescape plays on? I know it's Java, but there's a bunch of parts of Java in the folder and I need a specific one.

Awesome!

I'm sure you people have all noticed the :twss: smiley. I for one make an effort to print it out and stick it around my school. Do you think it's a meme journeying out of the internet to everyday life (there are shirts with it, TV shows with it, and graffiti with it) or is it just a fad like Chuck Norris jokes, you think?

Policy of starred out words

This is a mod saying how contextual evidence will determine the validity of filtered offensive language. This is different than most people think, with that being how anyone reporting someone who's been censored is breaking the rules because of the update.

Anyone care to discuss the validity of this and what it means?

Hey, who's that freak with the whip...?

Anyone think I could dress as my character for Halloween and submit the photo to the Player's Gallery? I'm going to wear a cavalier mask so I think my face will be obscured and it will be okay.

I would ask in H&A but that's completely dominated by in-game questions....
