RuneScape Information

  1. hey, I recently joined the game after several years out. And I basically had the same feelings you're having. I ended up not having time to play substatially (back on haitus), but the runescape subreddit has a great FAQ on the sidebar to get you started with different armors at different levels and different classes, as well a list of different Friend Chats for helping in different activities, like world 60 penguin hunters or warbanding, and such. other than that, at the time things were in so much flux that I couldn't really find any updated combat guides, but that has probably changed by now. And try warbands, they are great for quick, albiet dangerous, xp.
  2. I also came back recently, after perhaps 5 years or so, so I'm in a similar boat. I don't intend to play too much, just kind of enjoy it more so than grind skills. I've learned that yes, there are a zillion ways to level up things, and fortunately they all speed up things quite a bit. There is a ton of new stuff, obviously, and there was a fairly recent change to the combat system (some sort of combination of 'EoC' and 'legacy') but I found this FAQ to be super useful: http://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/wiki/faq (I think I'm allowed to post external links as I couldn't find anything forbidding me from doing so in the forum rules, but if I am wrong, feel free to remove it mods, thanks) It has links to armors for each tier, as well as a whole lot of other useful information, such as player owned ports. I haven't even bothered with combat yet, so I cannot help you there, but for smithing and construction, look into the 'wilderness warbands' minigame. It is a dangerous daily (3x daily actually), but it can give about 200-300k xp per day in smithing, mining, construction, farming or herblore. It takes about 15 minutes of your time. It is quite dangerous, and you need to find a friends chat/ clan to do it with, but it makes gaining xp very quick and cheap. I have no idea about crafting or fletching or thieving, but rs wiki seems to have a lot of options for cheapest/ fastest/etc methods of leveling up. Bloody chaotic weapons, or dungeoneering rewards in general. There are a lot of cool rewards, but at least for me, they require a time comittment that i can't give yet. But you should look into it. Hopefully, that helps. Cheers.
  3. Hi Folks, Does the Hati glove bonus stack with the sacred clay coif bonus? i.e., will I get 300% bonus? And does anyone know how long/ how much xp the SC coif lasts? Thanks.
  4. You have overloads, so it might compensate for the low ranged level. I went through the fight caves yesterday (died at Jad) for the first time with mostly worse stats than you. My range is 77 (stats in the bar) and I walked through waves 1-62 with really no worries. I used mostly melee, except on the lvl 360's. I ranged the lvl 360's. I always had 'magic deflect' on when the lvl 360's were present. I had EEE/ 5 saradomin brews/ super restores and 10 regular prayer pots. I had 2 extreme range/att/str. When I got to Jad, I had yet to use my brews/super restores and had 2 prayer pots left. I simply died because I mixed up the magic sound with range sound and died in two hits. So yea, bottom line, just got to be super alert at Jad. The rest is fairly easy.
  5. Hi guys. I want to train my agility to 70. I'm lvl 62 at the moment. Equipment wise I have the double potential penance horn, EE for healing, and weight lowering equipment. Where should I train for fastest xp rates? Any specific equipment I need to aid in training? My combat stats are 83/83/83, thieving 70 if that matters at all. Thanks
  6. You should consider having two gardens. One a default that connects to a chapel, portal, summoning OR a chapel and 2 portals. The second garden could connect to workshop, kitchen, study. When you need to mass produce teletabs, level up construction, etc, just switch the entrance portal to the second garden. I have something like this. My chapel connects to a quest hall with mounted glory to easily enter garden, walk into prayer room and tele to edgeville.
  7. I was in your boat recently. I would recommend getting attack to 80, then doing waterfiends. You'll get about 45-50 crimsons/ hour. I'm ~83 att/def/str now, and with saradomin sword + piety + super pots I get about 60-65 crimsons/hour. The second thing is to keep doing penguin points, it's an easy way to get to mid 50's. I spent mine to get from 1 to mid 50's dungeoneering, and I'm assuming its the same xp boost across all the skills. Hope this helps.
  8. I can do up to floor 27. I went through F1-27 already. I reset my prestige. Now I think I'm expected to start again from F1 all the way up to 27. Is that right? Why can't I just skip to F27 directly? Summary: Scenario 1: F1-27 done. Prestige reset. Repeat F1-27. Scenario 2: F1-27 done. Prestige reset. Repeat just F27. Is the second scenario possible? Thanks.
  9. Thanks guys. I'll try out both the korsai method and the z-spear with just antifires as well. Sounds tricky, but maybe it will work just fine.
  10. Thanks guys. I looked at the stats of these alternate weapons. Maybe I should really get started with dungeoneering.
  11. I don't have 85 herblore (not even close to spicing for 85) and I don't have a chaotic weapon (never done dungeoneering). With those two limitations, what is the best one-handed weapon to melee iron dragons? And what sort of attack are they weak to in particular? Thanks.
  12. So lets say I reach the max floor I can do, e.g. say 20th of 20th floor. My prestige will be 20? And If I don't reset before restarting the floors, what happens? Thanks.
  13. I was assigned trolls for slayer. What sort of melee attack are they weakest against? And what kind of melee armor should I have on (more crush, stab or slash?) Thanks.
  14. I just started waterfiends to get crimsons. I'm 82/80/80, 81 mage, 60 prayer, and I think my stats are as low as they get before waterfiends are feasible. Not efficient, just feasible. If I were you, I'd try to get melee states to 75 each minimum, and prayer to at least 55. I guess your magic should be okay. I say this because with my stats, I get about 30 crimsons/ 35 minutes (then i need to restock). I do waterfiends because this is the fastest way I found to collect crimsons. With your current stats, you'll probably get 20 crimsons/ 30 minutes. At that point, you'll probably have to stock up on prayer and food again. Looking at your skills though, one thing you can do is to get your summoning up to Bunyip levels. Then, you can probably increase your efficiency by two fold or even more.
  15. hmm, I guess at this point I'm also considering barrows armor, specifically guthans. I'm willing to splurge on it, but can you guys point out some creatures that will be worth killing with guthans, like the bandit example shielzzz69 gave. Italian5kamikaze, are the yaks you are talking about lvl 20? or something else entirely? I don't know any other yaks. Once again thanks. -warriorxxxx
